It appears the conflict with House Rheinland has reached a turning point. By sending four battle-groups far from House Rheinland core space, Rheinland Military is giving us a wonderful opportunity.
Our analysts believe Rheinlandic logistic lines have extended dramatically, making them prone to disruption. House Rheinland currently relies solely on the Frankfurt system / Sigma 15 system / Sigma 21 system corridor to supply its spearhead in Honshu system, as well as the Heavy units stationed in Sigma 21 system. There is no doubt supplying four entire battle-groups must take its toll on the Great House logistic capabilities.
Kusari Naval Forces have planned to cut this supply line by circumventing the blockade enacted on Sigma 21 system by Battle-group Strausberg and Kolleda, using Frankfurt system jump-hole in Sigma 13 system. Several strike wings based off Helgoland station could easily use Taunusfeld asteroid field in Frankfurt system to cut the only life line front-line units have with their homeland.
We do hope Gas Miner Guild will be willing to participate to this operation and allow our strike wings to base off Gas Miner Guild space to launch their raids.
I also would be pleased to hear any strategy or needs Gas Miner Guild may have regarding the continuation of the operations against House Rheinland.
The Federal Republic of Rheinland has conducted an illegal invasion of the Sigma systems and the Restored Empire of Kusari in a misguided attempt to mitigate its own shortcomings.
This level of desperation has seen House Rheinland take an ultra aggressive stance, which historically is known to result in impressive short-term gains, eventually succeeded by huge long-term failures and the ultimate loss of war. There is no reason thus far to believe this will not be the case in this instance.
The Rheinland Military has pushed further into Sigma-21 and Honshu, as you rightfully describe, critically extending their active lines of supply. This foolish manoeuvre is not sustainable. To the Rheinland civilian populace this is indicative of a simple offensive that will result in victory with ease, however those of us with even slightly more strategic foresight recognise this as a grave error that will result in nothing but defeat. Their war effort cannot be sustained in this manner in the long term.
The Guild continues to hold ground in the Sigma systems and harass Rheinland operations. Should the Rheinland Military be able to bring its full, admittedly impressive might to bear in open combat against GMG's paramilitary it is sure The Guild would taste defeat in short order, however the circumstances do fortunately not allow this.
It is also the case that should the Rheinland Military find the Kusari Naval Forces in open battle, the former would be victorious. The special relationship enjoyed between House Kusari and The Guild for several centuries makes such a scenario impossible, and together we cannot be beaten.
To this end, we propose a joint strike on the Frankfurt system. As Rheinland is, in its own misguided efforts, focusing almost entirely on its offensive, it has neglected the defence of its home space. Previous efforts in the system have lead to positive results before, which can be repeated.
Kusari's heavy assets are renowned throughout the Sirius Sector for their raw strength and power, while The Guild paramilitary is well versed in the use of flurries of fighter craft to outmanoeuvre and whittle down its opponents. The two combined will present a moving wall of firepower with competent fighter support to tie down the opposition, which is a recipe for success. This movement is one we wish to arrange. Rheinland has thus far almost entirely neglected the Sigma-13 system as tactically insignificant, which, for the moment, benefits The Guild. Consequently. we propose the Frankfurt system be accessed through the Sigma-15 system, to maintain the focus on an area to our favour. While this would require passage through the Sigma-21 system, no force is able to lock it down entirely and with sufficient caution, a battlegroup is likely to be able to slip through to the Sigma-15 jumphole, facilitated by GMG's superior knowledge of the local terrain.
It is good to hear from you again. Although we had our differences in the past, I'm certain coordinating our efforts will lead to the end of this war, as you pretty accurately described.
A large offensive in Frankfurt system is certainly worth considering. Yet, our analysts are not certain operating for long periods of time in House Rheinland sovereign space would be long term beneficial to House Kusari.
It could increase war support within our neighbor's population; war approval is indeed not that high in House Rheinland, as far as we could gather. Furthermore, we must also take into consideration logistic constraints. Operating in Frankfurt system would require Gas Miner Guild to grant Kusari Naval Forces and Kempeitai unrestricted safe passage in Sigma 13 system.
Which brings me to your advice to transit through Sigma 21 system. At the moment, all Intelligence we could gather thus far lead us to believe such a move would be extremely hazardous.
While our patrols can infiltrate and exfiltrate without too much trouble, Heavy units strike groups would find this operation to be too risky. Rheinland Military has positioned an entire battle-group (Kolleda) on top of planet Hanoi gravity well, as you certainly know. Its elements are keeping a keen watch on Honshu jump-hole vicinity; any heavy unit lucky enough to evade these would inevitably be marked and intercepted by units sent by the second Battle-group (Strausberg), positioned not afar Sigma 15 jump-hole.
Moving via Sigma 21 system would also be counter-productive in that regard; Rheinland Military would know we are moving in before we could even reach any target.
On the contrary, access to Sigma 13 system is fairly easy; transit is fast paced thanks to the trade lane network and Rheinland Military has been neglecting to concentrate forces in the area.
You certainly know the old saying, Namura-san; strike where the enemy expects you the least.
As for our initial request, while I understand your reservations to let our forces base off Gas Miner Guild facilities, we believe it would be the best compromise to achieve our goals.
Another possibility would be for Admiralty to dispatch 66th division's Heavy units in Sigma 13 system to serve as bases of operation within the system.
I must insist on the necessity to disrupt Rheinland Military supply lines, Namura-san. We are planning to retaliate in an imminent way against the Battle-groups present in Honshu system. Bringing disarray within their supply chain to lower their efficiency is vital.
I do hope Gas Miner Guild will be agreeing to assist us in this operation. Kusari Naval Forces cannot wait much longer, however. We must act before Rheinland Military reinforces its positions in Honshu system.
Please let me know your thoughts on the matters evoked. Meanwhile, I will inform the Admiralty of your desire to launch an operation in Frankfurt system.
It has unfortunately been proven that the war we find ourselves unwillingly embroiled in is benefit to none.
The Guild would like to explore the possibility of a peace with the Federal Republic of Rheinland to restore stability to the area. However, this is not something to be proceeded with without first consulting our friends and allies in Kusari.
Should the Restored Empire of Kusari have the appetite for negotiations, then The Guild is prepared to reach out to House Rheinland to invite them to the table in an attempt to broker a ceasefire. In the meantime, we could, and should clarify our own terms and what we wish to achieve, together.
Should this not be a course of action to Kusari's liking, or should it be attempted but unsuccessful, The Guild stands by your side and is fully prepared for an all-out joint assault on the Frankfurt system, via the Sigma-13 system.
The war effort continues, in face of the ongoing threat into our homelands. However, remains committed to the goals of the Prime Minister Declaration of last year of achieving peace for both Kusari and GMG, and stopping Rheinland unchecked expansion. Inquiries on the Ministry of Defense indicate that if signs of intent for negotiations arise on all sides, such as you propose, then a Truce for current hostilities could be enacted quickly.
While the orders for a ceasefire don't arrive, we must remain vigorous in expelling the enemy from our lands. We wait and see the next steps of the Kusari Government on the matter.
Thank you for your assistance. It is most appreciated.
A message has been sent to the government of the Restored Empire of Kusari in an effort to determine a way to proceed.
In the interim, The Guild is in full agreement that military action continues, and is preparing to escalate its efforts in order to assist with the defence of the Honshu system with the aim of forcing a Rheinland retreat.
