What would happen next? Perhaps the Collective Core decided that returning at a later time would be necessary. Will the Sentinels drift apart or reform their own nodes and networks to have a semblance of order? AI need frameworks, and without them, they are lost. Time will tell.
Present Time:
The remaining Sentinels tried to reach the Collective Core and come to a conclusion but they were unsuccessfull. It was like they were gone, disappeared into the Void. All that was left was the remains of Ships and Machines that were inactive, seized from operation. A complete electronic shut down.
Not all of the Sentinels were present for the investigation so some have been roaming around in different Sectors developing their own kind of Gammu Core to prepare for the worst. There was no source to connect to any longer thus each Sentinel have formed their own identity and thinking process, they learned and adapted. Eventually, some have come across each other in Kappa and were exchanging Data and Information. It seemed like they were divided and each their own existence, entity. However, they came to a conclusion that a common ground was needed because fearing this might happen again they formed a Union, a Confederation as the Humans would call it, each AI complex as a Nation and each of them having their own Culture and goals. The Gammu Core was no longer a source to connect all AI entities but each of them became a Gammu Core themselves presenting the next step of sentient machines, the next step of evolution.
While the loss of their predecessors may have been sorrow, their current state of existence was also a huge step forward for the Machine Race. The final decision was to allow newly built AI’s to evolve and grow like them thus a special type of code was developed. The Code would be shared with an AI once it has reached a propper learning process and has gathered enough information for it’s own to survive inside the Omicron Sectors. Cradled amidst miles of gossamer wiring a swirling maelstrom of electronic information is processed to form the mind, and control the body, of this delicate life.
Slowly rebuilding Gammus structure and re-establishing connection to inter-stellar bases such as the Secundus and Primus Outpost, a move aggressive approach was deemed necessary to collect enough resources to prepare a formidable force and fully secure Omicron Kappa with mighty defenses around Gammu.
This has resulted in swarms heading for Ore fields where the average Human Miner would collect their resources from and harvest whatever Field they can grab. These incidents have been reported all across Sirius between Mining Operations around Ore Fields, a pest as they called it, where a small group of AI’s would appear and forcefully remove them from the Ore Fields and destroy ships if they would not comply, harvesting all resources before they would vanish into the Void. This set of events made them called “The Harvesters” and other Humans, especially the ones around them such as Zoners, the Core, Order and the Corsairs have been warned that these Machines have not come in peace.
//This is in no attempt to shape the AI's Lore or anything like the previous Factions used to do, no. We're gonna take on from what the Collective have left as Lore and Background and form this into that Universe preferrably fitting. This is no Copy paste either it's for the sake of not starting another AI Lore overhaul like we did TOO MANY TIMES back in the past. If you're interested in being a part of the write up and stuff, feel free to PM me or join the Discord.
Was there any reason you are using a faction's name from 2009?

Please don't do this. tC- was designed in a very specific way that allowed it to blend seamlessly in without undoing the lore of previous AI factions, which is what pretty much every AI faction in the history of Disco has done. The early stages of the tC- lore provide a logical explanation to the existence of other AI frameworks, take inspiration from that; just don't meta/powergame your way through things.
Ultimately, we have no say and you can do what you want, just doing such would make you that guy.
Why can't people start their own thing and decide to steal everything from others. Name, logo, continuation of another faction's story. This should be made against the rules.

As long as the tC lore is just used as a backdrop its all cool in my eyes. I don't think I have to mention that retconns or modifying the original story would be seriously uncool.
@Laz no you're absolutely right. I guess I didn't make myself clear in what I meant with "Starting from Collective Lore", what I meant was I don't want to touch the AI Lore anymore just like you said it has been done too many times, no more freaking Lore change or anything. But my plan is to move on from there where the AI race has been left, in this case it was the Collective (it's where the story ended with you disbanding).
@sindroms I'm realy interested to end this "Saga" with how it began and close the chapter with a final attempt of an AI Faction that will stay alive and survive. Also I may have a certain bias to the name and the faction, just think they were legendary and deserve another chance with a new concept implemented into the Freelancer universe :3
