This is Martin Lawrence, Mechanical Engineer in the Ingenuus Research Group.
I'm starting those logs on my personal and upgraded Edge Worlds Very Heavy Fighter "Lich", known as "Project Michael", to document whatever I encounter/discovery in my journey in the Gallic House.
As my first project was a success(and personally really proud of it even if not something great), I decided that it's time to go and expand my knowledge on the known technology to mankind and to go in the Gallic House to study theirs.
With Dr.Erzie's consent, I've started my voyage to their controlled systems through Liberty.
I've just encountered a very nosy Liberty Police officer, which wanted to know the why I was there, but I couldn't say I was heading in Gallic territory. *laughs*
But at the moment, I'm in Edinburgh System, which was captured recently by the Gallic Royal Navy.
Even if I'm not their biggest fan, I must admit that their engineering is quite impressive. The gate lanes and the jump gates are different built from the Sirian ones, but yet their base blueprints are the same. I guess I'm a fan of good architecture.
At the moment I'm stationed on Perth Station, a small supply base near Planet Ayr in Edinburgh, where it seemed the best place top stop for a drink.
The place seems pretty abandoned as there are only few people on it to just maintain it I guess.
In the mean time I'm also reviewing the prototype engines as I said to Dr.Erzie, to see if I can make any further adjustments to it, as he wanted to even start building them.
There's always room for improvements, especially in engineering.
Lawrence out.

Edinburgh System:
As I was on Perth, I asked some guidance to where to head as I'm not familiar with those systems, so they indicated me that in order to enter in the Gallic Systems, I had to first stop at Cordes Outpost to have my visa checked.
The kind men, gave me the coordinates for how to arrive to said base, but as I'm very curious I start wandering around Edinburgh to chart it.
And while exploring it, I found something amazing:[X]
An planet, with breathable atmosphere and it's a "green paradise". First scans showed that the planet is rich of flora and fauna and there are only 2 outposts on the whole planet.
This might be something to look at for a vacation or just to settle down for a more peaceful life.
Too bad the system isn't the most peaceful because of the fights between Gallic Forces and Gaian ones.
Orkney System:
A Border Gallic system. But not even my curiosity couldn't hold itself and I've started to fly around the system to see what is going on, before arriving to Cordes Outpost.
From a first peek, I could see that the system is subject to constant fighting between this rebel group called "Council" and the Royal Navy, in fact I could find an intact wreck of one of those rebel's ship, with some equipment samples that could still be taken to be studied.[X]
This wreck was found in a North-East asteroid field, where it was isolated enough from normal routes.
But after I was done being nosy, I went on Cordes to have my visa checked. The Outpost has a small taskforce which protects the jumphole for the system I believe is called Languadoc? No wait...Languedoc yes. From what I've understood, the system was under Council's control, but the Royal Navy pushed and captured most of it, but they still pay a lot of attention of who comes in and out.
As the jumpwho is surrounded with a very dangerous minefield, they escorted me till it so I could safely travel to Languedoc.
Languedoc System:
As I arrive to this system, it's like when I enter Omicron Minor: a graveyard, but this is a very different one.
Nobody cared about it, in fact, some of the wrecks arrive even next to the tradelane themselves, which shows that when the tradelanes were built, nobody was interested in even removing those wrecks, but I wonder why.
Yet as a nosy engineer I am, I had to go around the graveyard to see what happened, and from what I've seen, a big battle went there.
I've found there this: [X],[X],[X],[X],[X],[X],[X].
A few Capital Ships and a few Fighter vessels. It always give me chills to see so many destroyed ships in one place only, like to think about how many people had to give their lifes in them, to fight endless yet stupid wars.
If only people would understand that instead of using brute force, diplomacy is a better way to resolve conflicts, but I'm a nobody to jugde people's decision and we have to adapt to those.
Anyway, as I finished looking around that graveyard, I went to the nearest planet, it has a mining outpost built on it as the planet is very resourceful. Local people referred to me that it's called Quillan and it has gone through several takeovers aswell.
At the moment I'm on the planet studying the data I achieved and seeing how good Gallic beverages are. *laughs*

Wow it has been, what, 4 days?
Times passes so quick when you're busy and yet I did not have time at all to take a break to registrate the logs.
As the last few days I was on Planet Quillan, at a mining facility to be more precise, I started to see around their equipment dealer and ship dealer, and I must say I was pretty impressed with them.
Both of them were really open, and let me actually look physically to the vessels/weaponry.
The vessels I have viewed are a Civilian Bomber called "Eclipse" and a Civilian Freighter called "Aurochs".
The ship dealer was so friendly that he let me inside both of thse ships to look and wander around those (most probably he thought that I was going to buy one).
But their ships are very odd. For me the alloy they are using to fabricate the ships is not something I'm familiar with (maybe I am but I can't understand them from just looking at the painted ship) but most of processors and and ship systems work pretty similar to Sirian designs.
As for weaponry, them weapons aren't so different either;they use the classification of weaponry as we for, therefore they have plasma based weaponry, etc. But still they have some particular inner systems that I wish I could take a look inside to decipher their systems.
I think I could study their technology more when I return back to Kappa, so maybe on the way back I'll buy some weapons for those studies.
Another thing I noticed is that the civilian ships differ very much from the security/military forces ones, in basic structure and building alloy but unfortunately I didn't have the possibility to look at one of their military ships more closely as they are restricted to civilians. Obviously.
After I've done studying those with the only data I could get, I've got a tip from the bartender in a bar on Quillan that I should visit Provence as it could be interesting to look around there.
So, as I had nothing else more important to do, I set the coordinates that the bartender gave me, and flew there as fast as I could.
The base the bartender told me to go to, is MonteCarlo Freeport. Freeport, that's odd to hear that name here yet it's true.
I should arrive there shortly if the bartender is right.
Lawrence out.

Whoa...it has been over a month...
A month with a lot of situations around the Gallic systems.
In the last month I've been travelling through all the Gallic systems, finding always something new to discover.
I have to say that their work is very impressive, in terms of engineering and life style.
As going through Outposts and planets I was speechless.
Especially in Ile-de-France system. The capital system with Planet New Paris. One of the most beautiful planets I've ever seen. However is a fortress. Police and military forces guarding the system and checking everyone that goes in and out, in fact they controlled my visa 3 times.
I think it's really hard to go in it without being seen.
So going around Gallia, exploring new technology and new places and time flew by that I didn't even realize *laughs*.
But it seems I had some issues with the new engines...The Hall effect isn't working as expected because it seems that the Azurite, with this method, doesn't give enough thrust therefore the ΔV is lower than expected.
Therefore I need something to improve the engine...but I can't think of something concrete because this Ion engine is something that works differently than the normal ones.
Hmm..maybe if I try to add a substance to it that increses the thrust so therefore the quantity of ions released;but what substance?
I'll have to ask around because I need to see if actually exists something like this.

Finally Dr.Erzie replied.
Yet as I'm not a chemist, I need indeed to check the databases on Corinth, as the Nacrahite seems indeed intriguing from what Dr.Erzie said.
If it can be used a catalyst for the engine, it's jackpot.
Now I need to go back from the Gallic systems all the way to the Omicrons.
That will take some time.

It took me some time to arrive back in Omicron Kappa.
Those engines are killing me right now and I can do nothing but to start studying with Dr.Erzie gave me.
I hope that the chemists on Corinth will be able to give me more details, because the engines at this moment are underperforming and it's kinda bad.
