I have a problem with the placement of contact and weapon lists in this mod when using a 16:9 widescreen.
It looks like the hudshift.dll isn't correctly implemented in this mod. A bit suspicious is the placement of the
hudshift.ini in the /EXE folder while at least the older versions of hudshift.dll had it placed in /DATA/INTERFACE.
Since I just watched the twitch stream of diamond1 (diamondwolf12) who has the same "problem", maybe it's
considered a feature though that the lists aren't totally in the corners.
A very old thread here redirects to a Adoxa post on The-Starport.net were JFLP is used in connection with
hudshift.dll and that's the way I know it and that always gets the job done and the elements placed where(ver)
you want. Unfortunately that works not with this mod. I suspect that is a problem with the cheat detection
system which restricts changes (e.g. in dacom.ini).
If you put your Hudshift-related files in /DATA/INTERFACE it should work. If I recall correctly them being in /EXE is an old mistake that was never corrected.

HUDshift does the job, and it's included in the Discovery download. You've just gotta go into the files and change one or two things to activate it. One moment...
-Move hudshift.dll to Freelancer install directory\EXE
-Move hudshift.ini to Freelancer install directory\DATA\INTERFACE
-Open hudshift.ini. Find your monitor/window aspect ratio or resolution. It's at the top of the .ini.
-Remove the semicolon - the ; - from where it says [;HUDSHIFT] for your resolution/aspect ratio
-Save hudshift.ini. Launch Freelancer.
Some of those files might already be in the right places.
Mainly, you've just gotta open up hudshift.ini and tell it what your aspect ratio is.

I already tried that but then the game doesn't run anymore . I suspect it is terminated by the anticheat function.

Did you do these steps?
I already tried all that. The game doesn't run anymore when I do this.

I bet you forgot to remove Hudshift.ini from the exe directory when you copied said file in interface, that's why the anticheat is getting triggered, remove any copies from those files in the wrong directories, it should work then.

It now works so you figured out my problem. Thanks for that and for the prompt answers to this thread. I wonder a bit though, why the Hudshift.ini isn't in the right folder from the beginning. Normally it should work for everyone as long as the auto option is set. BTW if somebody uses Greylock's instruction, don't forget to remove the semicolon before [;HUDShift] Horizontal = auto so it says [HUDShift] Horizontal = auto afterwards or the automatic ratio shift will stay in place and might cause further problems.
