To my dismay I had to realize that my cpu after a few minutes on the server to 100% load is running, and it starts jerking, although nothing to jerk is there. and after I stop the game and stop the launcher and no program is running anymore, the cpu stays at 100 percent working. 5 minutes later started taskmangager and saw, the cpu is still running on 100 % only a newstart of computer helped, and i tried another discovery mod, and my cpu running on 5% as usual. so what the..... is wrong with the actually mod version? i am sure i am not the only player with hot cpu, and i dont wana risk my cpu burning through.
first of all: Your CPU won't burn through... you'd need a 100°C+ for that and I really doubt that it would get that hot cause of freelancer.
anyways.. what CPU do you have? have you checked which program is causing it to stay at 100% after you closed Freelancer?
And last but not least (most people underestimate how important that is/can be): when did you remove the dust in your PC (especially on from your CPU Cooler)?
yes i removed the dust, i am running a 2X3000 MHZ athlon, with 8GB RAM and a superior GTX 285 Geforce grafix card. in 48.77 i am running the game on hd grafix in simultan 3 games at one time withot lagging or CPU over 20%....
and the cpu dont go down from 100%, when QUIT game and launcher. there is a backgroud process running thats invisible in windows that eats all the cpu power. and no other program on my computer makes my cpu to 100%, so what is it?

I think he is not talking about Launcher problem mate.
@Fruitloops can you check which process takes all your CPU in the task manager? If it is named rundll32.exe then definitely is the issue/fix that @pillow linked.
