The computer was buzzing as I read everything I can about what went wrong.
What had happened to everyone on this ship...

"The subjects have become more aggressive. One already managed
to break out of it's containment. Killing two of my men. We knew this
chemical we invented would come at a cost. We knew that we would
have to do something to stop it.....but by the time we knew all this...
it was to late. The behavioral reaction this thing changed our subjects
to was not what we expected. They became monsters. One of the labs
was completely over run by these things. They are now using their victims
to produce more of each other....They are evolving at alarming rates
and we can not do a thing to stop them......"
//**CLASSIFIED DATA LOST**\\
Hmm that's not good.... I spoke in my mind. Knowing that if I said
anything aloud they may hear me and attack.
The power to this place was still up in most of the sections. Those
sections that had no power I deemed hostile and only would attempt
to look for what I needed in there with a team behind me.
What idiots decided to put a sniper on recon duty is beyond me.
"Alvin? Why did you stop moving?" A voice in my ear piece said.
"Sorry, I was admiring the sheer stupidity of this mission. Why am
I doing field work again? I'm a space marine we watch from the outside
and shoot things from far away. Not close quarters like this." I replied
as quiet as I could.
"I already told you. Your the only Marine with the guts or stupidity,
whichever way you look at it, to do something like this. You know we
need the info on that ship before we blow it up."
By now I was already walking down a long well lit hallway. This hallway if
I remember right leads straight to the main lobby of the stations. The
lounge being similar to a bio dome but more of an office building type of
feel. Like the ones back at home.
I had my normal weapons on me. My oh so trusty rifle with the only thing
I use to snipe with. And my trusty side arm which I called Fred, the little
Laser Pistol. I still don't know why I called it Fred though.
This station wreaked of death. Dead bodies still not salvaged by the
monsters. Some bodies that looked like they put up the most epic and
destructive fight before they went down.
I remember in an earlier room that I explored the remains of a marine
and the 20 plus corpses of the monsters in front of him. That man
probably didn't deserve such a cruel fate.
"Alvin can you walk any slower. This place gives me the creeps."
There goes that annoying voice again....I swear he's going to get me
killed one of these days.
"Any faster I'll make enough noise to scream kill me. If you want to keep
nagging me how bout you do this?"
There was no response. He like the rest of them didn't want to even touch
the door to the air lock. What cowards.
I was finally at the door to the main lobby. I looked back just to see how far
I actually walked and to see how far I would have to run if the time called for
it. That probably wasn't my best idea.
I put on my helmet, which I was holding in my left arm. Turning around to
sneak a peak through the window on the door. Though the turning around
part was most definitely not the best part of my day. In the window stood
one of the creatures. Staring at me and breathing heavily. He was hungry.
Least I think it was a he.
I started to walk backwards slowly. Eventually making it into a backwards
run. Right when I started to run it smashed through the door and charged
at me.
It's always the big rooms that have the problems.
Instantly stopping in my tracks and kneeling down I aimed and fired within
a few seconds. The bullet from my gun piercing through it's head. The case
smoking as it exited the chamber and bounced off the ground. This gun
wasn't the quietest gun in the world. Neither was the case when it bounced
off the medal corridor.
"Alvin, now would be a good time to run."
"Thank you captain obvious!"
Just as those words passed my mouth I was already in a full on sprint. Not
back down the hall but straight through the main lobby. I jumped over the
dead body as I heard growling noises coming from the Lobby area.
Somebody was obviously a very unhappy camper.
Flying through the lobby doors there was at least 12 of them on the interception
for me. Switching to fred I opened fire lobbing off as many rounds as I could
before I had to reload the battery. Hoping I can make it to the hallway on the other
side. I had no intention to use the sword they gave me to use for close combat.
I was about 20 feet from the door when I was suddenly interrupted by something
I never expected to see. A bigger one of those things dropped right in front of my
path from the second floor of the lobby. It was easily 3 times taller than me.
"Uhhhh what is that thing?"
Yep I'm definitely going to kill him when I get off this hell hole of a ship.
"You know...even if I knew what that thing was I probably wouldn't tell you. Until
I found it's weakness!"
It charged at me causing the area to shake around me. My common survival instinct
told me to charge back so I did. In the process pulling out the sword the one
thing I didn't want to use this entire mission. When it was in striking distance
it swung what looked like an arm at me.
I turned toward it and jumped. Landing on top of it's arm, and started to run up it.
Dragging the sword as I ran up it's massive arm. It, like the others, was not a happy
monster.
As I got the top of it's arm, the shoulder region, a smaller monster about the size
of a baby launched over it's shoulder. In a tackle stance. Swinging at the small
thing was all I can think of doing. The sword cut it into two. That's when I think all
hell broke loose.
The monster, I was standing on, got extremely furious and swung it's tail at me.
Catching me by surprise and launching me into the middle of the lobby. As I flew
through the air I switched to my trusty rifle, we will call her Shirley. Landing on my
feet-ish. I fired off a round from Shirley into the big monster. Expecting it to go
down like all the others. Yet again that probably wasn't my best idea of the night.
"You know Alvin it's probably not safe to piss off the biggest monster you've seen
all night." I was not going to be held responsible for what happens to him when I
get back.
"You know...your in the freaking ship why don't you help out!"
"Fine I'll be on that side in a minute."
"I may not have a minute...."
The large monster was even more furious throwing all the smaller ones out of the
way just to get to me now. I decided to fire another round at it in hope of it slowing
down before indefinitely pummeling me. Firing the final shot off I could with Shirley,
the monster jerked from the impact but continued it's approach. Life was really
about to suck.
"Alright Alvin duck!"
A bright light lit up the room from something sitting outside the Lobby it was my ship.
A giant glass wall was between him and me.
"Eat lead you stupid thing!" I really hated the way he taunted things.
10,000 rounds per second is what I was told the ship does. We were one of few ships
that still used bullets to shoot things. The glass shattered instantly as a rain of bullets
tore apart the lobby and anything in it that was in direct fire of the ship. The slaughter
had begun.
As the lobby was all but destroyed by the gunfire I couldn't believe my eyes.
The monster was still standing. With over 10,000 rounds in it the thing was
still alive! How can that possibly be?
Though it wasn't advancing toward me it was just standing still, like a statue.
I took the opportunity to retreat toward my ship. I stood up and made a mad
dash for my ship. Knowing there was at least a 10 foot gap between the ship
and the ship I was in. I had a good running start when I started to hear the monster
moving, it was giving chase. At the speed I first saw it go there was no way I'd
out run this thing! I decided to look back to see how much distance I was from
it and see how fast it was running compared to me.
"Hey Alvin, look out!"
I turned my head to look toward my ship again to see at least 5 missiles launch
from her. Gut instinct had me jump to the side to dodge them well in advance.
The missiles flew passed me as I dived to the side. Impacting the large monster
and exploding. Causing a huge hole in the lobby and making the ground collapse
below the monster into the deck below. Nothing, and I mean nothing, could have
possibly survived that. After a bit of shell shock I got up again.
"Did you really have to use my missiles? Those things don't come cheap you know."
"Sorry but that thing survived our main guns missiles were the last thing I can think
of before it would tear you apart."
I guess he was right. I decided to go look at the damage that the missiles caused.
The giant hole in the lobby made me curious to see how far down it went and if
the monster was truly dead. Walking to the edge of the hole I looked over the
edge to see the damage.
"Chris get the ship out of here ASAP!"
"What? Why?" I give the guy an order and he still doesn't listen.
"The monster isn't in the hole...."
"Where is it than? Did it disintegrate?"
"Think through what you just said for a minute and I'll get to you with an answer,
but for now move my ship out of here!"
I felt the ground start to shake a bit further away from me but moving toward my
ship and not me.
"Chris move!"
The ship started to turn as the wall from the deck below exploded with a monster
flying through it. The dam thing was still alive! Pulling out Fred I opened
fire while walking toward my ship firing off as many rounds as possible. Reloading
every 20 shots. As the monster clawed up to the top entrance of the ship.
"Alvin what the hell is going on I can't move the ship!"
"Chris get out of there! Get out of the ship now!"
Chris knew not to hesitate to an order like that. I watched as the only ejection pod
launched from the other side of the ship. The only option I had now was to blow up
my own ship. To do this I had to either fire at the exposed fuel container or pull a
remote trigger I always carried with me. I was never a simple person. I got Shirley
ready and fired. The bullet went right into the container and ignited the entire ship
in a fiery explosion. I couldn't tell if the monster escaped it or died. All I knew was
It wasn't there after the explosion.
I was now alone on this doomed station. With no back-up that I was aware of. This
was not going to be a fun journey.
I decided it was now safe to continue searching for the
stupid artifact I was sent here to find.
Walking around the giant hole back to the door I was
blocked from. I opened the door to see yet another
long hallway. This one however was only glass walls.
It was one of the many research corridors. On both
sides giant rooms filled with equipment and broken
glass containers. I was surprised none of those things
were in here. Looking at the clock I saw that I only
had 1 hour to find this thing before the Bismarck
came in and made a new debris field out of this place.
I decided to search the bigger of the two rooms.
Stepping over broken glass, fallen displays, blood
ponds, the usual things you expect after a slaughter.
In a station of this size trying to find one simple artifact
is very difficult. Especially when that artifact is an
info-card with important material on it.
Continuing walking to the darker side of the lab there
was a section that wasn't on my map. A hidden corridor.
I turned on my helmet light and started to trek down the
corridor. Blood was smeared all the way down the hall.
White walls with blood red walls seems like a haunted
house to me. At the end of the corridor was, like I expected,
a door.
The door looked like something tried to force it's way in
and failed. Dents all over the door and deep scratches.
Whatever it was sure put one heck of an effort into this
door.
Reaching the door I tried to open it. The security system was
offline so everything was accessible. Though this one wasn't.
It was locked, from the inside. Shirley alone couldn't even
bust through it even if she tried. The only other thing I could
think of was blowing it open with the charges I had. Only
problem with that is these explosives aren't the quiet.
I decided to go against being quiet because we already made
enough noise in the lobby. I planted the charges in certain
location on the door and moved back 20 feet.
"Fire in the hole!" I don't know why I yelled that. Probably use
to saying it. Then I pulled the trigger and the door exploded open.
The growling began and the horde came rushing down the hall.
It's always the fun ideas that are the bad ones.
Seeing as how I had no automatic gun I just started using Shirley
to shoot through targets hitting two at a time. To no avail there
was far to many for Shirley to defend against. I thought this
time I was surely done for. Than someone behind me screamed get down. A female voice.
By that order I ducked down to see a rigged Purple Goddess
Turret lay waste to everything in the hall. Purple rounds flying
over my head at alarming speed. The horde was annihilated.
When the firing stopped I looked at the mess that was just created.
I made a very small portion of it compared to what the turret did.
I can still hear growling from behind the pile of the dead monsters.
The dead made a impassable wall.
"What the hell were you thinking?! Blowing up the door like that!"
Someone was obviously angry at me.
"Pleasure to meat you too. Names Alvin Clough."
I replied calmly.
She looked confused. Probably not expecting a reply like that.
She made a slight grin before replying.
"Captain Stephanie Snow is my name. Mind telling me how you
got this far?"
"Sorry Captain but I think I should be asking the questions here.
What are you doing here?"
She didn't hesitate to answer.
"I work here. I'm in charge of the security of this station. When
the breakout was announced many of us were killed or turned.
A few made valiant efforts to defend certain locations but after
awhile they were over-run. You just blew up the only wall
keeping those things out of here."
"Wait so there's more than just you still alive?"
"Yes, this is the only surviving group I'm aware of. All others
we lost contact with. We could only think of the worst."
I nodded than looked at the time again. I had 30 minutes left.
"Hmm maybe you can help me. I'm looking for an info-card
that the Rheinland Military sent me to find. This info-card
has some material on it that they want."
She nodded again.
"Follow me."
The turret was mounted onto a track. She started to push
the turret back to the end of another long hallway that had
yet another door all the way at the end. She knocked on the
door like punching in a code. Someone on the other side
opened it. Entering the room everyone I saw looked like
civilians. Just one man hiding in the corner was dressed
like an officer, he was holding onto something
with a firm grip it looked like.
The entire room stared at me as I entered with my gun
out wearing my full body armor. It's like they've never
seen a space marine before.
A tall man walked up.
"Another survivor? How could he be alone?"
The girl replied back.
"He's not a survivor apparently the Military sent him.
Alone. I guess they weren't expecting survivors."
The man grinned and turned away walking back to where
he was sitting.
Once everyone stopped looking I approached the officer.
"Lieutenant Commander Alvin Clough of Space Marine
Division 143 reporting."
I saluted the man but he didn't even budge.
"Sir I am here in search for an info-card with material on
it that the Rheinland Military strongly needs."
The man jerked his head up.
"Your the man they sent for this?! Here take it! Get rid of it!"
The officer threw it at me.
"Just get rid of that thing. I don't ever want to see it again."
I've never seen an officer so disoriented before.
"Sir?"
"I said get rid of it. Leave me now!"
He turned away. Following his order I turned around and
looked at the info-card. It consisted of several pages of
work. The first of which in big red letters read. CLASSIFIED.
I couldn't look at it. Even though I wanted to.
"This is RNC Bismarck to Space Marine Sniper of the 143 do
you copy? You have 10 minutes to get off the station."
My helmet was louder than I thought. Everyone in the room
heard it.
"Til the Bismarck decides to blow up the ship and
everything on it. Using her improved Heavy Mortar."
Everyone around me looked at me in horror. They
had no way off of this place.
"I repeat space marine. Do you copy?"
"This is Lt. Commander Alvin Clough. I hear ya.
However you must postpone the destruction of this
station. We have survivors! I repeat we have survivors."
"Survivors? Well get them off we can't postpone it's
destruction any longer....."
The voice cut off as another one came on.
"This is Admiral Helena Clough of the RNC Bismarck you
are to get off of that ship or we will have no choice but
to remove you from the station forcefully."
Helena? My sister? It couldn't be.
"Helena? This is Alvin Clough. Son of Ellen and Ghislain
Clough. Respond."
"Alvin? Is this a joke? Are you truely Alvin Clough?"
"Affirmative. How's it going sis?"
"Alvin you are to get those people off that station in 15
minutes. That's the longest I can give you, and you know
it."
"Roger that but I have no ship. My ship was destroyed.
Hence the giant hole in the lobby your probably able to
see from out there."
"Yes I see it. I'm guessing the oxygen shield is up in that
sector."
"Indeed it is. Though what do you recommend I do to get
these people off the ship?"
"I have a force of over 100 land units on this ship. Is that
thing still flyable?"
I looked at Stephanie that was listening in on the conversation.
She nodded at me indicating the ship was still functioning.
"From what I gather the ship is still flyable."
"Than get to it! we can't get close to the ship so you will
have to wait for the units to get to you. In the mean time
get those people to the bridge."
I didn't reply.
I knew I barely had enough people on the ship to get it moving.
"Alright ladies and gents. You heard the lady. Let's get moving!
Grab any weapon you can. We're about to save a ship!"
Everyone stood up and prepared the light arms they had near them.
Everyone was prepared apparently for an invasion on the room.
"Sir there's a secret entrance back here that leads to the back up bridge."
A girl pointed out a basement type of entrance.
I nodded and motioned for everyone to start going.
One by one people entered the little entrance. As I waited I heard the
monsters starting to approach. They made it through the wall of the dead.
I ran to the door and closed it. Using some furniture to block it off. Though
that wasn't going to hold long.
Everyone was now in the secret passage so I ran in and closed the hall off
from behind me.
I wasn't trained to command a ship especially one of this size. This was going to
be one interesting day.
Entering the secondary bridge I noticed
everything in the room was brand new. Never touched.
This bridge was never used because there was no need
to use it. The main bridge was never damaged for there
to be a need for this bridge.
Everyone was turning on anything they could making sure
everything worked.
"Hate to ask but does anyone know how to fly one of these
things?"
I asked and everyone stopped doing what they were doing.
No one was sitting in the navigation seats. I walked down
to the seats and sat in the main navigator chair. Going
by trial and error on how to operate the thing.
I pushed the screen and the entire console came to life.
The controls were the same as my ship just more high
tech looking. I figured it would be cake than.
Pressing the same sections on the console as I would on
my ship, the ship came to life it's engines starting to
hum to life. This ship was very similar to mine just a
few times larger and stronger.
"Hold on folks!" Everyone was sitting down strapped into
the nearest chair they found.
I managed to turn the ship toward the Bismarck and started
the approach toward the smaller Bismarck Marine ships.
"Everything is going well Lt. Commander. We're making steady
progress to the Bismarck."
Captain Snow now considered me the commanding officer here
I guess.
The growling of monsters outside the bridge was much louder
now because the roaring of the engine must have scared them.
We can hear monsters banging on walls or shattering glass.
Apparently they couldn't survive out in space because one
launched out of an overpass that was viewed from the bridge
and instantly died. They couldn't stand noise apparently. We
may have found the weakness of these things.
Helen asked as the ship slowly made progress toward
the Bismarck.
"Everything is running smoothly however since we started
the engines the monsters have gotten extremely aggressive.
We can hear them trying to break through walls and windows.
Some even managing to kill themselves by breaking a
window leading outside the ship. I don't think they like noise."
"Roger that I'll let my forces know."
We are only two clicks out from the Bismarck ground units
when I heard one of the engines humming stop, and then
another one soon after.
Two of the engines went down.
The ship had a total of 5 engines from what I recall.
"What just happened?"
I turned to Stephanie as I asked the question.
"We lost all control of engines one and three. System malfunction
according to this. Could the monsters possibly have destroyed
the engines?"
"Lets hope not. To play it safe lets cut the last of the engines for
a minute. We'll drift toward Bismarck's forces and use maneuvering
thrusters to control our speed."
Cutting the engines made the entire ship go quiet. All the monsters
had stopped making noises. It was a very awkward silence.
The Bismarck's landing force was finally docking to the ship. Though
there still was no noises. It was starting to get suspicious.
"Everything going okay in there Alvin?"
"I don't know Helena. The monsters went rather quiet since we
cut the engines. Haven't heard a sound since...."
"That can't be good."
"Alpha team has successfully boarded the ship. Main hanger is
clear."
"Beta team boarding successful. Entering main hanger to back up
Alpha team."
Both teams of 50 were on the ship. Still no sound from the monsters.
As the two teams continued to talk on the radio.
"What the hell?! All units open fire!"
Light arms and heavy arms fire were heard throughout the ship. As
the two teams started to shoot at something on the ship.
"This is bravo team we are under attack by a large hostile creature!
We need to fall back! Alpha team fall back!"
Could the monster Chris shot up earlier possibly still be alive!
"This is Lt. Commander Alvin Clough to Bismarck Forces. Does that
thing look like it was attacked once before?"
"That's affirmative! Looks like it took heavy arms fire. That thing has
to be hurting from all the holes in it!"
The darn thing freaking survived two explosions?!
"Bravo unit you are to use explosive rounds on it. Laser Cannons anything
against that thing! Do it and do it now!"
"Roger that. Using RPM (Rocket Propelled Missiles) and Light Reconnaissance
Mechs."
I started to hear heavy weapon fire going off as well as explosions.
Obviously the monster was putting up a fight.
"Bravo team is pinned. Our mech is still firing at the thing but it is
closing in fast! Alpha teams mech is also having a weapon error.....
Oh my god....Scatter! *Static*"
Something shook the ship as, from what it sounded like, it hit
the wall and exploded. As weapon fire was still going off.
"Bravo team do you copy over?"
"This is Alpha team. Bravo team is currently unavailable...We are
still engaging the hostile threat."
"Alpha team what just made the ship move like that?"
"This thing just threw Bravo's mech at them. It just picked it up like
it was nothing and threw it at them...."
Bravo team was not responding to anything.
They were surely lost by the behemoth creature.
"Alpha team you are to disengage and fall back"
"Sir as much as we'd love to do that this thing is blocking
our only way out of here!"
*Static* "....Chris....*static* .....coming...."
"What the? Find out where that's coming from."
"Sir it's coming from a small craft. Looks like a make shift
escape pod."
One of the people next to the comm console said.
"Information suggest it's from the vessel that you came in."
The little escape pod was coming toward the ship
fast swinging around to where Alpha team was at.
The only way that ship was ment to stop was by
going into the atmosphere of a planet slowing it
down or slamming into something. The pod was
now on a collision course with the ship.
"Chris what the hell are you doing?"
"Sir the comm to that vessel is damaged. It wont here you."
The small chain guns on the pod started to open
fire into the hanger where the boarding teams were.
Focusing it's fire on the monster, getting it's attention.
The monster in frustration started to swing at the bullets
shielding itself from most the rounds but the pod was
closing in quickly.
Flying into the hanger at full speed the pod slammed into
the monster while it roared at the pod. On impact the
monster stopped roaring and was slammed into the
wall of the hanger the pod exploding on impact with the
monster now pinned between the ship and the wall dead.
The entire ship shut down from the impact. After a minute
power came back up. Everything was working again.
Only things not working were the engines.
"Sir boarding defensive have come online!"
Another person of the survivors yelled in joy.
"Well activate them. Lets see whats going on."
I was a bit shocked at the death of my good friend.
Given I didn't like some of the things he did but
him risking his life like that was a side of him I never
saw. It made me mad that I didn't know all the much
about him.
The boarding defensive system was a massive console
controlled system that consisted of cameras and robotic
defense weapons. Anything in the ship was now visible.
All we had to do was destroy what was left of the
monsters on the ship. Than get this annoying infocard
back to the Rhienland Military.
Weapon fire started to echo throughout the ship
as the defense system mowed down all the monsters
still on the ship.
Alpha team was slowly progressing toward the
bridge. Being engaged by nothing all the way there.
Just trying to pass the remains of the dead.
It was a good 30 minutes before all gunfire had
stopped. A few stray fires here and there went off after.
"Bismarck to Alvin. HQ needs the status on your mission."
"Tell your HQ that I need a new ship. An I have the dang
artifact they want."
I wasn't finishing this mission empty handed.
"HQ says you are flying your replacement ship...."
What?! They are giving me this heap of a fix it!
"*sigh* Alright. This thing hardly runs but I guess I can
manage off it. Who do I send this thing to?"
"HQ Tells me to have you forward it to us. We will
forward it to them."
"Alright I'll transfer the data over. However you do that..."
I plugged the infocard into the console. Put in the transfer
location and it started to decode and show the entire
infocard on both ships. The top secret information was
now being seen by the entire crew.
Things on the infocard shocked everyone. It showed
human experiments ranging from mutant wild to hybrid
creatures created from nomads and random wildlife.
This wasn't something Rheinland did but this research
station did. Using Rheinland funding.
Why did Rheinland tell no one about this stuff?
"Bismarck to Alvin. Rheinland bomber patrol on approach."
What's a bomber patrol doing coming out here.
"Alvin we have suspicious activity incoming. Those bombers
have a cruiser escort."
That can't be good at all.
"This is the 152nd Rheinland Bomber Patrol to un-identified
vessel and RNC Bismarck. This un-identified vessel is now
under our control and is to be put under our command."
What? He's talking about my ship?
"This is Lt. Commander Alvin Clough, Freelance Space Marine
Sniper. This is my ship and you are not under command of it."
"Mister Clough. You are to follow our orders or be destroyed."
"This is Admiral Helena Clough of the RNC Bismarck. You are
not authorized to attack this vessel 152nd vessel. If you
fire upon it we will be forced to defend it."
The bombers started to move toward us and then made a sharp
turn for the Bismarck. Launching a volley of torpedoes.
"All hands evasive maneuvers! OPEN FIRE! We are under attack!"
The Bismarck came to life with open arms. Firing flak and AA rounds
at the now hostile bomber squadron. Barely evading the volley of
torpedoes.
The cruiser started to open fire on the Bismarck. Probably thinking
this ships main offensive turrets were offline.
We started to get static transmission from the Bismarck. The cruiser
was using a jammer to block comms from getting anywhere.
"Stephanie, are the turrets on this thing active?"
"No but we can easily turn them on."
As she said that the turrets heated up and became active.
"Stephanie this thing reads this ship has two battle razor turrets?
Is that right?"
"Yes Alvin this ship is well defended."
The Bismarck was now firing AA and normal Battleship rounds.
The AA rounds pounding at the Bombers while the main shells
slammed the shield of the cruiser.
"All hands open fire! I repeat open fire!"
My new ship started to fire it's 10 defensive turrets at the cruiser.
The 2 other turrets charged up the Battle Razors and fired.
Blowing a hole through the shield of the 152nd cruiser and hitting
the hull of the ship.
The cruiser started to turn toward us setting up to fire it's forward
cannon at us. I don't think this ship can take a hit like that. It's
other guns still focused on the Bismarck. Bismarck's shield was now
gone.
The bombers still trying to hit Bismarck with Torpedoes were all
destroyed within the next minute of combat.
The damage we caused to the cruiser was making it take
ages to get in position to fire it's cannon.
Alpha team finally arrived at the bridge.
"What is going on why are we under attack?"
"I have no idea some 152nd just arrived and started shooting."
The team just started to help out knowing there ship was under attack.
We started to hear Bismarck again. Maybe one of the hits stopped the
jammer.
"152nd vessel you are to stand down or be destroyed!"
"We will not stand down Bismarck you are a traitor to Rheinland and will
now be treated as such!"
"Have you gone awol? You fired on us first! Your the traitors here."
There was no response from the cruiser after that. The cruiser
was now attempting to retreat. It's cruise engines engaged and it started
to charge right between both my ship and Bismarck. The strategy didn't
go so well. Right when the cruiser got next to us the Bismarck fired
off a heavy mortar round tearing the ship in two, and making a massive
shock wave that shook both of our ships.
The cruiser than exploded while the debris of the ship was still flying
across space at just below full cruise speed.
"We're fine Alvin. Just a fire here and there but nothing
that can't be contained."
"Roger that Helena. Give us a minute to figure out what
just went down."
Everyone at the bridge was standing around. No one
on the ship nor on the Bismarck ever heard of a 152nd group.
"Outcast vessels detected on scanner range. They have
a ship that looks similar to ours."
Stephanie looked at me for a minute than turned away.
She was hiding something.
"Stephanie, why do the Outcast have a ship that looks
just like this one?"
She didn't respond.
"Stephanie?"
She finally turned around.
"Because this ship is an Outcast ship. Mind you we are
not Outcast but the ship itself is of Outcast Affiliation.
It was just a matter of time before they showed up."
"Who showed up? The Outcast?"
She nodded.
"Why is Rheinland in command of an Outcast vessel?"
"I don't know. All I know is me and the people on this
ship were told not to say a word. We think Rheinland
may have used this ship to accuse the Outcast of
experiments to humans."
"Outcasts vessels have stopped just outside Bismarck's
firing range." The person at the radar console said.
"It's hailing us."
"This is Outcast Destroyer Sylpheed to Rheinland Military
Vessel and Outcast Destroyer vessel. May we have a word?"
"Sylpheed this is the Bismarck, Rheinland Military Battleship.
Your are to leave this area or be destroyed."
"Bismarck from the looks of things you have no status
to tell us what to do. If you want to know who those ships
were that just attacked you. I recommend you let us have
a word with you."
There was a pause for a bit.
"Granted Sylpheed. Weapons powering down."
The Destroyer came up right next to my ship, well their ship.
Blocking the view of our ship from Bismarck.
The person on the other end was using a voice distortion
system so we couldn't tell who they were.
"The vessels that just attacked you self titled themselves
the 152nd. They are not on Rheinland records of any kind.
Other known as they don't exist. Your lucky. They normally
never lose but I've never seen them go up against a
Battleship before. Whatever was on our ship that you sent
out. They wanted and most likely intercepted it. Attacking
you was to make sure what they were doing wouldn't get out.
It's advised that you, Bismarck, go into hiding. The loss of
those ships has indeed put you as a kill on sight vessel
in Rheinland. With a rather large bounty on you as well.
We're forwarding the bounty information to you now."
A 100million credit bounty showed up on my console.
"This destroyer is to now come with us. Bismarck you are
advised to find a place to hide or find a new home. Your
ship is no longer welcomed in your own space."
"Hold on there buddy. This is my ship you can't just barge
in and take it."
"If you wish for us to force you out of that ship we will gladly.
However seeing what you did you could be of great use to us.
I wouldn't mind you joining our forces."
Bismarck was still not saying a word. Odds were it was trying
to figure out what to do.
"Alvin. Go with them. We will follow on far rear defense."
"Roger that Helena. I'll see you where ever we're going."
All the outcast ships formed around mine. Sylpheed took
the lead and had us follow. We were now on the run.
"Just so you know we'll be flying completely blind for awhile
Lieutenant Commander. We are in hostile space after all."
I wasn't sure if we should have trusted them but with the
Bismarck on our side I was confident that they wouldn't try
anything stupid.
We were flying through an explosive gas field by now. All
the fighters and bombers were docked on the ships so
they wouldn't get harmed. Our ships were strong enough to
not have to worry about the field. I've never been out of
Rheinland before so this was going to be rather interesting.
"Sylpheed this is RM-2A Outcast Destroyer, Emmeria. We
will be joining you on the escort mission and are taking
a wing formation next to you. Please hold fire."
"Roger that Emmeria welcome to the party."
This ship must have been of great importance if
another Destroyer had to show up.
"Sylpheed we have unknown targets on an intercept course
with the party. Advised to change course."
"Negative Emmeria we are to hold this course. All hands
prepare for combat. Unknown vessels inbound."
The readings of the surrounding ships started to spike as
all their weapons charged up.
As we made it out of the field I saw what was coming at us.
"This is the 152nd Rheinland Military Fleet. This is your last
chance to surrender or be destroyed."
I looked at my scanner to see how many of us there were
and how many of them they had.
Oddly all the ships on my side vanished. I was on my own
all of a sudden. Where did they go? The Bismarck wasn't
even on scans. It was probably still in the field.
"I repeat this is the 152nd Rheinland Military Fleet. You
are to surrender at once!"
Just than a voice from the friendly guys that were just here
came on.
"We will never surrender this ship!"
They were speaking for us.
"Suit yourself, all ships engage the vessel!"
This was not looking good.
"All ships escorting the RM-2A destroyer. Engage
the hostile 152nd forces!"
All of the ships spontaneously appeared out of the field at
full speed. I didn't even see them stop. How did they get
back there? The escort fleet was far larger than I first
started with. It now consisted of larger vessels far larger
than mine.
"This is the RNC Bismarck. Engaging hostile 152nd vessels.
You were told to leave it alone!"
