To the board at Synth Foods
I will be the first to offer an olive branch and an apology in regards to what occurred a while back at Planet Pygar and the following communications.
It was wrong of me to put above the conditions of transport over the suffering of those who were fleeing Gran Canaria. As said at the time, Zoner transports had been pirated and attacked for transporting migrants in similar ships. Also the fact we had been accused of not being able to cope when we had worked so hard, and continue to, on this colony it felt like an insult and an attack on me and my crews.
With this being said, i wish you had contacted me prior to building your base, i think things would of gone alot differently.
Either way, i apologise for the hostile actions i took in the face of those only wishing to help.
With the idea of help in mind is the reason i contact you, but not for transporting Migrants but for your expertise in the field of food production. As you are no doubt aware Pygar isn't the most hospitable of places, we can do little to nothing on its surface so we Must build our agriculture within the caves and caverns along with the Colony itself.
Now originally the idea was to use Bio-dome's and at present we have one that is used to produce a small amount of the food here on Pygar. The issue we face with this idea is that Bio-Dome's take up space, which is something we do not have as a luxury, as vast as the cavern network and caves are they aren't all usable or stable area's so we Have to prioritise what gets built and where.
Some of the area's we cant build in however have a fair amount of space, space enough to grow and harvest food, and i believe your Synth products are the best choice to having a sustainable food source. To have this would be a major step into fully establishing the Colony proper, so if your able to assist and advise the best course of action moving forward would be greatly appreciated.

Herr Voncloud.
Pleased to make your acquaintance. I'm Anders Löfgren, Bio-Engineer for Synth Foods and chief supervisor of all Bio-Engineering Operations throughout eastern Sirius, which happens to include Pygar. Now, on behalf of the Board of Directors, we do again apologize for our hasty actions around Pygar. As Mr. Stevens is oft to say, these "petty squabbles" are far beneath the real work that is to be done. With that in mind, let us proceed.
In the intervening time between the initial "truce" over Pygar and now, Synth Foods has been in contact with the Probational Administrator of FP9, who took the efforts of representing Pygar in the meantime. We were similarly contracted by them then as we are you now to discuss the feasibility of various food-growing operations on - or, more accurately, in - the planet to better support their growing population.
As you stated and our communication shows, my report on the structural feasibility and space available in the cities below Pygar's surface revealed that, in fact, BioDomes would be a clumsy solution at best to a problem that is much more fine-grain. BioDomes are, of course, designed primarily for vacuum and/or thin-atmosphere environments above the surface; the thick greenhouse glass and light-focusing arrays were invented mainly to take advantage of stellar power, which is rather moot under a hundred meters of sand. Artificial UV-stimulus then is the obvious solution, and with that the hydroponics bays designed to take up the vast volume of a BioDome can instead be put to work as more minimal installations throughout the Pygar inhabited regions.
Our current plan of action was to construct a scaled version of the Mark IIId's main hydroponics array planet-side, alongside the necessary equipment to run it through normal agriculture cycle. By doing so, you could judge the efficacy of such a solution yourself and, should you be interested, accept the remaining eleven of the dozen hydroponics facilities I originally chartered, which should provide enough for a refugee population four times Pygar's current estimated inhabitance, a considerable safety net for the near future. As Mr. Stevens promised, this initial exemplar model would of course come free of charge.
If this interests you, I will have my teams stand-by on the surface and alert logistics crews nearby to deliver the needed materials at-haste, as I understand time is always of the essence.

Synth Foods, Incorporated
Mr Löfgren
Thank you for returining to me with due haste.
I have read over the log of the communication you sent to Administrator Koken, who was promoted to full Administrator by the way, and the plan stated seems to be the most Sound.
To address a few points made, the first is the Administration of the Planet. Right now i myself am the Planetary Administrator and coordinator of the Colonisation project, as im also the Commander of the Black Fleet within Velvet it has been deemed to be under our jurisdiction along with Consultation from Omicron Supply Industries.
With regards to work force, there are many on Pygar who are ready and willing to do what is needed to make this little ball of dust home, be it as labourers and builders or those who are willing to learn whats needed to be a bio engineer. There are many here who are without a future career or current role within our society so this will prove to be a fruitful opportunity for them.
Your teams will have access to all the relevant Areas of Pygar in order to do their surveys and to build the Exemplar Hydroponics bay, whatever it is you require in order to do this task please let me know.
