Hello there!
Mel, you asked me to crunch the paperwork and, after constantly getting interrupted gardening, I have looked through everything we will need to upgrade the Cryolite from a somewhat functional carrier to something respectable by our counterparts in the Omicrons. Now, looking through everything suggested and how it all works after a long, long journey of research, I present the upgrades to the Cryolite that should be focused on.
So, most would say "hey, stage one, stage two, stage buckle my shoe" but quite honestly I think we can multitask. The big issue is the drydock needed - we'll need IRG to clear a berth at Lividia, or the Core with Alabama, or the Order and Carthawhatever that pilot told me when I gave her a flower. I dunno.
So! What we need to do so far is:
Upgrade the innards. Life support, scanners, engines, brot- wait no. Sounds of furious stylus scratching is heard and other vital systems that are required. Any of our friends can assist with these, those most probable would be IRG and their infamous Power Cells for powering such systems. We can also contact the Order or the Core about upgraded scanner arrays, depending on who we trust to make a better product. They also can assist with the navigational upgrades needed, which I'll discuss later.
The hull. While rugged, we are on a frontier and are constantly hounded by a Kusari shut-in's idiotic, disgusting fantasy. As such, I suggest we work on upgrading the armor in an unorthodox way - we discuss such upgrades and materials with all of our major allies and see what we can't cook up ourselves. Or, more simply, we just pick one and be done for much cheaper and faster. Up to you, Mel.
Now, the next thing. Weapons.
Now, we can really talk to either the Order or Core for this one. Both are built for the frontier, but we do need to decide who we work with. Pros and cons of both. Both have nuts in charge and both have mostly lost the stable ones. Damn shame for the Order's public image. Sucks a bit when most of their people fight and die for us all. In any case, either or is the special and it's all you are going to get. In this vein, though, of armaments - I remember you wanting both a cloaking device and jump drive. Now, really, IRG are some of the best with Jump Drives, but the Order have had the most experience with cloaking technology, having had access to the Osiris for more time than we can honestly count. If you wanna hide the Cryolite, they're our best bet.
These are my suggestions for upgrading our flagship. I also wish to suggest that we first secure a drydock - whoever's we select will pretty much lock in our choices for any and all of this, Mel, so we need to discuss and choose wisely. A mistep can cause a diplomatic incident, and quite honestly my roses are coming in beautifully and I don't want the Core blowing up my garden because we towed over an Order transport full of weapons, or the Order shooting my ship and ruining my petunias over a Core transport near Carthawahatawhat. Or something.
That'll be it!

Melissa is sat in her office, she flicks through the paper work of the plans and nods her head. Her voice is warm and welcoming.
"Elyssa, bloody good work! I will speak to the relevant contacts, and then we can start hopefully moving this old Aquilon around and get it ready to deal with the ever looming threat f the Nomads. Lets hope that we can get this thing prepared before the next siege hits."
Just before the transmission ends, Melissa smiles and bows her head.
