Maltese society has gathered around the accomplishments of the strong for centuries, since the ancestors of the modern Hispanians founded the civilization we know today. Through acknowledgement of the actions that those who have stood up to fight for the Maltese Nation, however large or small their accomplishments, we engrain into history their commitment to the Nation we call home. These awards, merits, badges, ribbons and markers of recognition exist to show the level of commitment of those who fight for the future of Maltese society.
Recognition for Personal Meritorious Service
Star of Malta ----Considered the highest possible distinction any individual Maltese serviceman may achieve, the Star of Malta is awarded for absolute dedication to duty in the face of overwhelming odds, and going above and beyond the call of duty regardless of risk to one's self. Those awarded with the Star of Malta are akin to heroes of legend, and are respected by all, regardless of rank, stature, nationality or race.
Issued by the President, Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of State. Must be recommended.
Gold Star ----The Gold Star is the pinnacle of merit for valiant service to the Maltese Nation, and is awarded to those who are considered paramount to the Nation's continued longevity, or have committed acts of valor and honor that trump even the highest of expectations, yet are not warranted of the Star of Malta.
Issued by the Secretary of Defense or the Armed Forces Admiralty. Must be recommended.
Silver Star ----Awarded for actions of honor and courage in the face of insurmountable odds and prevailing.
Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty. Must be recommended.
Bronze Star ----For meritorious action and integrity against superior odds, yet remained faithful to the Maltese Nation.
Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty. Must be recommended.
Purple Heart ----In honor of those who have bled openly for the prosperity of the Nation in face of oppressors and enemies of the state.
Issued by the Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command with recommendation.
PoW Medal ----For those who were captured in the field, and held their integrity for that time until release or rescue.
Issued by the Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
Meritorious Service Ribbon ----Bestowed to officers and pilots of the Armed Forces that have displayed valor and honor outside of their combatives service.
Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty. Must be recommended.

Veteran Service Medal ----Awarded to those who have served with the Armed Forces in an active standing for over 18 months. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Extended Service Medal ----Awarded to those who have served with the Armed Forces in an active standing for at least 12 months. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Bronze Service Medal ----Awarded to those who have served with the Armed Forces in an active standing for at least 6 months. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.

Kusari Combatives Medal ----Given to those who have actively served in duty with the Armed Forces against the Republic and Reformed Empire of Kusari. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Gallic Combatives Medal ----Given to those who have actively served in duty with the Armed Forces against the Kingdom of Gallia. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Bretonian Combatives Medal ----Given to those who have actively served in duty with the Armed Forces within the boundaries of the United Kingdom of Bretonia. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Homeland Defense Medal ----Given to those who have actively served in duty with the Armed Forces against the tyrannical nationalists of the homeworld, or against oppressors to the homeworld within the Tau and Home sectors. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Omicron Combatives Medal ----Given to those who have actively served in duty with the Armed Forces against the tyrannical regime of the Core, as well as other threats within the Omicron Sector. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.

Heavy Action Award ----Awarded to any pilot of the Armed Forces that took part in any engagement where at least three enemy vessels were present and the mission was a success. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
Warship Command Ribbon ----Awarded to commanders or executive officers of Armed Forces warships that successfully confirm the destruction of at least ten hostile warcraft. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty.
Bomber Ace Ribbon ----Awarded to bomber pilots of the Armed Forces that successfully confirm the destruction of at least ten hostile warcraft. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Fighter Ace Ribbon ----Awarded to fighter pilots of the Armed Forces that successfully confirm the destruction of at least ten hostile warcraft. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
Strikecraft Master Ribbon ----Conferred to pilots of Armed Forces strikecraft that confirm the destruction of at least seven hostile ships solo in a single engagement. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Strikecraft Expert Ribbon ----Conferred to pilots of Armed Forces strikecraft that confirm the destruction of at least five hostile ships solo in a single engagement. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Strikecraft Superiority Ribbon ----Conferred to pilots of Armed Forces strikecraft that confirm the destruction of at least three hostile ships solo in a single engagement. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.

Presidential Unit Citation ----This citation is awarded to military units that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their execution of their orders, and have displayed honor and valor akin to that of the heroes of legend. Issued by the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State
Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Distinguishment Award ----Awarded for commemorative service through valiant execution of duties, this award is bestowed to Armed Forces units that have set themselves apart from the rest of the military, and have shown exceptional skill, valor and tenacity in accomplishing their orders. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty.
Merits of Personal Accomplishment
Call of Valor ----Awarded to officers of the Armed Forces for achieving the active duty rank of Teniente. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
Call of Malta ----Awarded to those of the Armed Forces who have taken personal interest in furthering the Nation's cause by spreading the influence of the Republic's people to those on the outside. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty and the Colonels.
Oracle Merit ----Bestowed upon those of the Armed Forces Admiralty who stepped down from a command position in place of a junior officer, owing to the perception of skill through experience. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty.
Recruit Officer Trainer Award ----Meritorious award given to those who have provided support for junior officers both in the field and not. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
Officer Recruitment Award ----Given to those who have assisted with recruitment of officers to the Armed Forces. Issued by the Armed Forces Admiralty, Colonels, and the Mid-Command.
