Heading back towards Omicron Alpha after a succesfull raid on the
Corsairs the MNS-Aeolus accompanied by her support units where not celebrating like they usually do.
The loss of half of their battlegroup brought on mixed feelings from
the officers and crew of the remaining ships and they where
wondering why they where send on this mission.
While they remain baffled by so much loss of lives and ships all because of a raid on a Corsair convoy, only the captain an the first officer onboard the Aeolus had knowlegde of the true objective.
Their orders where simple, intercept the convoy and take the
valueble cargo from the transports.
The extend of how valueble this cargo was and the high level of
security covering the convoy was not mentioned to the commanding officers of the Aeolus.
New orders from the high ups where coming in and now the Aeolus
was ordered to set course to the remote an highly secured system
Omicron Phi by herself without escorts.
By now the officers and crew of the Aeolus where briefed about
their mission and capture of the cargo, now designated as
Scientific data regarding secret weapons.
With the arrival of the Aeolus in Omicon Phi system it became clear
that the reason for beeing here was to analyse the captured data and somehow weaponize it.
After months of construction, two heavy turrets where replaced by
the newly created weapons and a lengthy testfase begun.
Weeks later after trial and error they finally where ready to commence the test of their new weapons.
The energyblasts from both turrets did break the large asteroid selected for the test in two.
The entire crew was stunned by the sheer firepower and it didn't
take long that orders where given to send the testresults on a secure channel through command.
How the Corsairs got their hands on sci-data, remains unknown.
The mission and everything surrounding the creation of these weapons
are now classified at the highest level.
