The Bourreau family has served the Kings of Gallia for centuries, acting as personal advisors, crown agents, and officers within the Royal Navy's fleets. Lector Bourreau holds to family tradition in this, acting as a commander within the Royal Navy and a respected advisor within the Monarchy.
Lector earned the title "The Executioner" from his foes within The Council, owing to his deadly conviction in pursuing the utter destruction of all enemies to the crown. A talented fighter pilot and expert tactician, Lector is currently leading the Thirteenth Royal Navy Regiment against Council forces in Burgundy and Languedoc.
Lector owns and commands the Souverain, a Gallia warship that has been in the Bourreau family for several decades. However, with the recent insurgence of Sirius foreigners into Gallia, and the sealing of jump gates to Gallia's core systems, Lector has left the Sovereign to defend the king, and currently pilots a Lynx-Class Fighter against his enemies.
>>>New Paris Naval Database: Battleship Souverain Visual Records:
"The Souverain was commissioned in 712 A.G.S. as one of the first new-age dreadnaughts of the Gallia Naval Fleet. The initial battleship prototypes constructed after the first Gallic Civil War were deemed massive failures in field testing, with most of the testbed models being too slow or having inadequate structural integrity for live combat use."
"After these numerous failures, several Gallia royal families stepped forward with their own privately employed scientists and engineers, with the goal of creating a warship that Gallia could be proud of. Many of these families had funded some of the earlier failed models, but with their pooled resources and wealth they were able to create what has lasted almost a century as Gallia's most formidable craft. These new dreadnaughts were so structurally sound that many of them were lost in combat not due to integrity collapse, but rather due to their engines being disabled and running out of supplies onboard as they fought for weeks on end."
"After the testing of the initial prototypes constructed by these Royal Families, the first production craft were constructed. Each of the families who contributed their time and money to the project were given their own heirloom battleship, five in total. The Souverain was gifted to the Bourreau family, who had for centuries served as the Gallic King's personal intelligence branch. The Souverain still exists to this day, almost in pristine condition as if it had been built within the last year, and she serves as both the Bourreau family headquarters as well as in a defensive capacity for the Crown Fleet."
