Sender: Duchesse Claire Sophie DeFrance d'Orléans Recipient: Prince Héritier Joseph DeFrance Subject: Cooperation
Prince Héritier Joseph,
I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting, but I am incredibly relieved to hear that there's more DeFrance family members alive, and especially someone of your stature. I thought you were killed by the Bretonians on Leeds so many years ago, but I'm delighted to hear that wasn't the case.
My name is Claire DeFrance, and I was the duchess of Orléanais before the Council terrorists took over the system. We've managed to survive the fights in Gallia as the ship we were on was deployed in the Taus, but we couldn't make it back in time. I've found some unlikely allies that pledged allegiance, and I'm trying to recover another family member before we take any further steps.
I've seen your public transmission. I'm very concerned over the implications - you seem to be presenting yourself as the Roi, but as far as we're aware, the Roi is still alive and there wasn't a coronation? Is the Roi really dead?
II hope you would have the time to arrange a meeting with us somewhere. We need to discuss what steps to take next once I manage to get my sister released, and there really is a lot to discuss.
Cordialement,
Duchesse Claire Sophie DeFrance d'Orléans

Duchesse d'Orléans,
My dearest naive little cousin... do you honestly think it would take a pesky fusion reactor overload to kill me? Non. I'm a bit harder to kill than that. Though I will shamefully admit that I've been quite out of the loop while recovering from my own injuries those many years ago. I am however doing well now, and that's all that matters as my kingdom is being ravaged by warlords and Republican terrorists.
In truth, I have no idea about the status of my father. From the sounds of these various transmissions I've received since making my announcement, people seem to think he's still alive, maybe in a comatose state? If that's the case, then I do hope nothing unfortunate happens to him, like it did to my late sister. We're losing a war, dear cousin, and our kingdom needs a proper leader, and someone to sit on the throne that is of DeFrance blood. It's that plain and simple. There will be time in the future for a proper coronation.
If you back my claim to the throne by releasing a statement, then I'll personally aid in locating your sister and making sure she is brought back to us safely, especially with the might of the Gallic Navy backing any actions to retrieve her. Not only will it strike fear into the rest of the sector, it will show them to never lay a finger on anyone with our name. As naive as you are siding with insects, cousin, you're still family.
Now... if you'll excuse me, I have more pressing matters to attend to. We can continue this conversation at a later date, and Claire... some parting advice, any Sirian you're in the company of they're not to be trusted. They will betray you sooner or later. It's in their nature to do so. It's in our history.
