The message starts blank, the line quiet for about ten seconds before the voice of a very distinct, clearly Gallic woman plays over the file.
"Bonjour, or.. hello, I suppose. This is Ambre Boffrand, Captaine of the Royal Warship La Galissonniere, calling on a directed frequency Whisky-Chance-Deux for assistance. We've deserted the Marine Royale, our ship damaged and trapped within the field close to the solar center. We've been adrift with no propulsion for over four months, and our people are rioting in mutiny over the declaration to seek outside assistance. Any rec--"
The line cuts, then goes silent for yet another ten seconds, resuming with the same woman. Her tone is more emphatic, and perhaps a bit stressed, with a degree of exhaustion in her voice.
"Any receivers please respond to this frequency. Our coordinates are marked with this transmission. I beg you. Please."
A Gallic vessel contacting the Crayter? Well that's a new one.
We received your coordinates and we are going to arrive there shortly with our armored division.
You'll be boarded by Crayterian personel and be prepared to be taken over.
All hostility shown towards our troops will be dealt with lethal force.
This is your first and last warning, so be careful of what you do next.
The message again begins silently, roughly another ten seconds passing before the same voice came through as before.
"Agent, you will find the only resistance aboard to be those of the mutineers. As much as I'm pained to admit, they are beyond my aid, and any that put up a fight are at your disposal to take care of. Those loyal to the ship and our objective will not hinder your people in any way."
Another short pause occurs, but nothing as abrupt as before.
"The ship may be less than willing, however, and I suspect some bulkheads may be damaged or inoperable. The ship has taken significant damage, but we will do what we can to aid in securing the ship. All I ask is that my crew and I are left safe once the ship is in your hands. We will await your arrival, though I hope it is soon."
The message once more cuts out, leaving silence to remain.
