Date of Birth: 772 A.S, Battleship Norfolk, Cambridge
Height 6, 2 Weight: 252 pounds/18 stone
George Stone was always going to be a warrior. Both his mother and father were in the Bretonian armed forces, and so had their parents, and their parents, and so on. Both sides of the family had long histories of serving in the Armed Forces, so it was natural that George would follow them. He obtained his nickname of Rock in pilot training, as he was huge, almost as wide as he was tall, with a stocky build. He could throw another ensign over his shoulder easily. He served with distinction, and was mentioned in Dispatches several times for his bravery. He had excellent piloting skills, and once destroyed an entire wing of Mollys on his own. In 810 A.S, however, George was heavily drunk and struck a senior officer, fracturing his skull. Georges military career was over. After serving an alleviated prison sentence, George became a freelancer, piloting an Eagle, and he protected Bretonian space with as much vigour as he ever had in the BAF. He first met Katana in Dublin. George was using captured Corsair weapons, which led to a fight between the two ace pilots. Katana eventually prevailed, disabling Georges ship, but after hearing Georges story, he apologised and the two eventually became firm friends. In 815 A.S, when Katana came into possession of the Relentless, he selected George as his first mate without hesitation.
Navigator: Edward Ed Wright
Date of Birth: 790 A.S, Planet New London, New London
Height: 6, 1 Weight: 179 pounds/12.8 stone
Born into a rich family, Edwards father was a high-ranking director in BMM. As an only child, Ed was spoiled rotten, but he never got big-headed, as he constantly reminded himself that there was always someone better than him. Only average at school, mainly because he didnt listen much, Ed had an amazing memory. This, combined with the fact that he was an incredible pilot, meant that he was destined to go to space one day. His parents were both killed by an odd disease called the Darkness. Ed inherited millions of credits, with which he bought a Falcon. He set out to explore Sirius. This led to him being shot at a lot, which forced him to fight, which, combined with his navigation skills, made him a good small-cargo smuggler, as he knew the ins and outs of every system, and how to fight off the law if caught. He was helped in this by an expert Lane Hacker he had made a close friendship with over the years, Oscar Walker. With Ozs comm. scrambling equipment, Eds smuggling runs were almost as secure as legal trade. In 812 A.S, Ed and Ozs luck ran out, as they were caught smuggling Cardamine by Corsairs. Eds Falcon and Ozs Scimitar were outgunned by the Centurions, but the Corsairs fled after being hailed by a freelancer known as Katana. Katana advised the duo to give up smuggling Cardamine. More than suggested, actually, so Ed stopped smuggling, and started working as a freelancer in Bretonia, taking any job that came his way. Katana remembered Ed, and encountered him several times in Bretonia. Apon hearing about Eds navigational skills, Katana contacted him and offered him the position of navigator on the Relentless. Ed also serves as the pilot in most situations, except in dense asteroid fields or combat situations, where Katana, being the superior pilot, takes over.
Engineer: Tanya Taz Gold
Date of Birth: 796 A.S, Planet Manhattan, New York
Height: 5, 7 Weight: 122 pounds/8.7 stone
Born on Manhattan to a pair of independent traders, Tanya was always on the move. Her parents were always trading, making money, then trading some more. Tanyas family was bigger than most, as it included the entire transport crew. She had no formal education, but the crew and her parents taught her all they could. She proved to be a natural at fixing things, especially moving things such as engines, and by the time she was sixteen, when the mechanic died she took his place. A year later, her parents had earned enough to start operating their own trading fleet. Tanya bought a Clydesdale in Bretonia and started doing the beryllium/boron run from Leeds to New York. She proved to be a competent pilot, but when she started doing more profitable, but also more dangerous jobs into the border worlds and edge worlds, while still in her teens, she needed escorts. She most often hired freelancers, but for the most remote runs, Tanya always hired Katana, as he was the only one who could protect her in the Edge worlds with any reliability. They struck up a friendship, with Katana seeing Tanya as his younger sister. On learning for her affinity for machines, Katana offered her a place as an engineer on the Relentless. As Tanya was growing bored with trading, viewing it as monotonous, she accepted.
Hacker: Oscar Oz Walker
Date of Birth: 785 A.S, Planet Los Angeles, California
Height: 6, 0 Weight: 195 pounds/13.9 stone
Oscar Walker was born to employees of Ageira Technologies. He was called Oz by everyone at school. He was mostly average, due to his fixation with computers. His parents always assumed that because of this, he would join them at Ageira. He did, but it wasnt the dream job he had expected. To keep costs down, Ageira paid its technicians next to nothing, and working conditions were poor. Disillusioned, Oz applied to become an escort pilot, which was approved. Oz was a good enough pilot, but he was always distracted by computers. On a boring trade run one day, Oz came up with a brilliant idea to increase scanner range, but his employer didnt listen and reprimanded him for not paying due attention. Enraged, Oz joined the Lane Hackers, an act which caused him to be disowned by his parents. Oz made a lot of money by pirating traders in Magellan, and his innovations ensured that his targets comms were scrambled, so that they couldnt call for backup. Oz started helping out a smuggler called Ed, scrambling the laws frequencies so that they couldnt communicate. This feature was noted by Katana, whose comms took two hours to become operational again after being scrambled. Katana was intrigued by Oz, and even visited him on Mactan to ask him about his scrambler. However, Katana was forced to flee when some Hackers discovered that he had foiled a Hacker raid on a huge Bretonian Gold shipment. Because of his contacts with Katana, Oz was forced out of the Lane Hackers. He drifted for a year, until he heard from Katana again. Katana had uses for someone as skilled as Oz, so he recruited him as the Relentlesss hacker.
Medic: Natalie Nat Owen
Date of Birth: 789 A.S, Planet New London, New London
Height 5,8 Weight: 134 pounds/9.6 stone
Daughter of a surgeon who was remarkably down-to-earth despite being rich and influential, Natalie was sent to a public school instead of having a private education, due to her father not wanting her to become a snob. Natalies mother died of the Darkness early in her life. Excelling at school with an exceptionally high IQ, Natalies future was undecided until one day she watched her father reattach someones arm. Determined to help rebuild peoples lives like her father, Natalie took up medicine, and was in the top five percent on the planet, an outstanding achievement that made her father proud. Graduating from university in 808 A.S, Natalie went to Planet Leeds to help treat victims of a mine collapse. She stayed there for four years, until she was posted to the Battleship Essex in Dublin. It was here that she first met Katana, as the Essex was one of his most frequented bases of operations before he obtained the Relentless. She tended to his wounds often, and he repaid the favour by tractoring in her escape pod after her Clydesdale was destroyed by Mollys when she was going home on leave. After coming into possession of the Relentless, Katana decided it would be wise to have a medic, so he persuaded Natalie to take on the job of medic.
