PRIORITY:High ENCRYPTION:High IDENTIFICATION:Embassy of Rheinland SOURCE:Federal Chancellery, New Berlin SUBJECT:Treaty Withdrawal
To whom it may concern,
On March 1st, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Hans Averbach-Schmitz notified your government about Bretonia's violations of the Snowdown Treaty. While it was initially disputed by your government, you eventually accepted that these violations occurred but expressed no interest to re-align and conform again with the clauses of the Treaty.
Due to these actions, the government of Rheinland decides the following:
The violated Treaty of Snowdown is declared null and void.
This rollbacks the legal status of the two systems to the Boorman Treaty.
Bretonian corporations are no longer licensed to carry Military Vehicles.
Rheinland Law Enforcement will immediately begin patrols in the Omega-3 as permitted by the Boorman Treaty. Any interference with our ships will be considered a violation of the internationally-recognized Boorman Treaty and will be dealt with accordingly.
Rheinland refugee families will be relocated in the Border Worlds to alleviate the Refugee Crisis of Munich.
The system of Snowdown will now be officially recognized as Omega-3. The name Nottingham will not be recognized or tolerated as it constitutes a Bretonian claim on the independent system.
Some Bretonian officials have cited the defunct "Omega Treaty" in their communications. It should be clarified again that the Omega Treaty was a military agreement between the BAF| and [RM] which was superseded by the Snowdown Treaty that was signed by the two House governments as well as ratified by the IMG and the Freeport 1 Zoners. This is evident as many of its clauses and restrictions were overlapped by the Snowdown Treaty and, furthermore, the [RM] formation no longer exists within our armed forces.
The following parties are also notified: - Independent Miners' Guild
- Freeport 1 Zoners

Since centuries ago, our two nations have enjoyed an unbroken peace that has benefited both nations greatly. That is why we find it difficult to
comprehend why the Rheinland Government has chosen to take the stance it has on this issue, escalating tensions unnecessarily. Given our past peaceful and
respectful coexistence, and a desire to retain positive diplomatic ties with the Rheinland government and people, we intend to keep our responses
equivalent to these standards in order to work together amicably and positively. Despite the recent undiplomatic tone which we found ourselves addressed with,
we are still open to the many venues of cooperation and friendship which have always been so productive.
Your withdrawal from the treaty only highlights the outdated nature of the Snowdown Treaty. Rather than escalating tensions, we feel that this would be a good
opportunity to open negotiations for a new Omega Treaty to better define relations between our two nations and to acknowledge the current state off affairs
under which the region now exists.
However, in the meantime, I ask that you continue to abide by the terms of the Snowdown Treaty and not send patrols into the Nottingham (Omega-3) system
until after treaty negotiations are complete. Though we intend no aggressive actions, we feel it best to avoid the chance of any unfortunate incidents.
Naturally, we also ask that you provide the text of the Boorman Treaty so that we may reacquaint ourselves with the rights and responsibilities expected of both
sides. I'm afraid our copy was stored on a server located in the FCO Building, which was destroyed in the Gallic bombardment.
In Her Majesty's Service,
Frederick Stewart
Her Majesty's Principal Secretary for Foreign & Colonial Affairs
