Winter, do you have a first name I can use instead?
We spoke before. But I don't think I answered your questions properly. I'm still thinking about what you mentioned, so consider this an opportunity to nudge me in one direction or the other. I'll just explain this to you the best I can.
There are people in this world who try to control everything. Whom through their grand schemes and network of conspirators across the sector interfere in the lives of everyone else.
And then there is me, and my only goal is to take that away from them, because it's all they have. They can't control people who have nothing to lose, no, we're far too dangerous and unpredictable for their tastes.
The Government you serve and all the corporations that feed it money and truly control it are examples of the former. And perhaps that big art project they've been working on beyond the veil is an example of all the schemes, secrecy and hubris present in the world.
In a situation like that, I'd be quite motivated to rip it apart, to let their tree grow but ultimately deny them the fruits of such manipulative labor. But no, Agent. I do not see myself as a moral person, nor do I pretend to be.
I represent the real notion of freedom, not the prepackaged lies available for sale directly to the consumer, or slave, as the case may be. But strangely enough, in a House called Liberty, the latter is more applicable. And all I want is to put a wrench in the machine responsible.

Call me Erin,
The greed of those in power puts Liberty in a risky position. For the corporate suits pulling the strings there is nothing more important than maximizing the quarterly alignment's profit margin, even at the expense of actions that will result in more danger than gain for those below them. For the right price they are ready to supply a regime that bases itself on the myth of might and legacy of old with the very resources said regime needs to solidify its power and become a threat to Liberty. They are happy to feed a wolf that is just waiting for the right opportunity to bite their whole hand off.
Tell me, Cobra, what have the last conflict with Rheinland gained for us? We won control over the system of New Hampshire which is now abandoned and all our forces have withdrawn from it and warded off the entrance. Bering's gate to Hamburg has been detonated, making the system a convenient hideout for pirates and dissidents to base off their operations into Texas. The Rheinlanders have found that to be quite convenient for them. And lastly - enough wrecks of Liberty ships in the border systems where it was all fought that you can still find plenty of ships yet to be salvaged, regardless of how hard the Junkers and other scavengers have been trying to strip them all down over the last years.
Furthermore - if the Unioner movement has been enthusiastic enough to aid the Imperial side so far, do not think they are doing it out of that little good at the bottom of their little vulture hearts. They are in this because they see they will gain from a swift and decisive Imperial victory. After all, they both chase the same dream - a the myth of the mighty Rheinland of old that could crush any rival state. Neither we in the Security Force, nor you have managed to fully suppress those foreign vultures. Even with increased patrols cornering them in Bering they continue to resist and fight and whenever we are not looking - slip into Texas to prey on civilians and shipping. Now imagine if they had the direct support of Rheinland as redeemed heroes of this little struggle for power?
The suits above though aren't stupid even if they are greedy. They saw that if we interfere in the conflict it would put an end of one avenue of profit that for now is lucrative enough to keep them drooling. As such they've done their best to tie our hands as much as they can on the matter. But you? You're free to act as you please. To step out of the bounds that the suits have given Liberty. You want to throw a wrench between the cog machine the corporates have built? Here's your chance.

Erin, a pretty name. I think it suits your attitude. Don't need a face to see who you are underneath those words. Though it is a shame that you've elected to hide it from me, as if I mean you harm or can't be trusted.
I won't deny any of the things you've said, because it's all either absolutely true or logically sound regardless of my overall stance on vain pursuits of moral superiority. I think I'll take my chances and concede this debate in your favor.
You have my attention, so consider me convinced that using my absolute freedom to help you is the right thing to do. Then again, even if I vehemently disagreed, there is still the fact that I owe you.

Even in your absolute freedom I know you're tied to logistics. It would be unrealistic for me to ask of you to operate deep in Rheinland space. Instead I propose a more appropriate course of action - focus your efforts on the Unioners in the border systems of Hudson and Bering. If pressured sufficiently they would be forced to turn their attention to defend their turf up north and withdraw considerable support from the civil conflict.
If our assumption that the Imperial forces are already working with the Unioner movement more closely proves to be true it could likely lead to Imperial forces deploying into Bering or Hudson to return the favor to their new criminal allies. If we manage to document such an event, it would likely be possible to pressure the government into taking action to sanction Imperial Rheinland while they have yet to consolidate full control over their domain.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this proposition, Cobra.

We've been fighting a turf war with the Unioners in those two systems for a long time now, no reason I can't make a more sizable allotment of forces to kick them in their dirty teeth with, especially with their focus occupied on political ambitions.
We've had limited success in getting rid of unwanted parties that try to skulk around Liberty, as far as the Unioners are concerned I've seen plenty burn. Not to mention that I've been reserving a nuclear option for the day when I might need it.
What I really want to see is that Freeport becoming a Freeport again, and if what you say is true, then it's quite critical that you act quickly and liberate it before Rheinland uses it as a hub for regional operations. That would be detrimental for us both and if Bretonia can do it then so can they.
I'll have more of a priority given to those two regions, most of my pilots are capable of listening, those that might be a little hard of hearing can be persuaded so our focus will be where you need it. I might have something colorful and perhaps poetic in mind, but any major strike will require time and resources.

Trading favors seems to be the nature of our game. I'll see what could be done regarding the Freeport.
