It has recently come to light that the we're expected to phase out use of Order ships during the transition. I believe the Osirises currently belonging to RPing individuals are safe(ish), but many of us don't like the idea of hanging on out of a special dispensation.
We may feel pressured to get rid of our beloved Osiris warships, which are a symbol for the Corsairs, aswell as the Order.
What's more, this will lead to the paradox of Corsair Osiris bases throughout the mod, but use of such ships being deemed "OORP".
Our plan: Following on from the Corsair's historic use of Osiris class Battleships, a new model of an Osiris that has evolved, or perhaps devolved, under Corsair guidance.
This would be a rare (perhaps Admin granted) ship that should replace Corsair Osiris ships currently in existence, and the currently existing Corsair Osiris bases.
The idea we came up with was a model based on the original Osiris, that had had it's hull gradually replaced with darker brown Corsair-metal, with battle scars and an up-heaved jagged outer hull, replacing the smooth look of the original. It would look like a desecrated version of the Osiris that had been reworked to look aggressive. The kind of ship that would make an Order engineer's stomach turn.
We are willing to offer a substantial credits-reward for this model, to ensure continuity of our history, and to ensure that the Prox (91), Delos (94), Fes (omega), etc. continue to fit in the mod.
I like this idea, making a model that looks like a hash between the osiris and corsair ship designs would fit perfectly.
Afterall, what the order did during our alliance was sell the corsairs a completely gutted construction plan for the osiris, without things like the cloaking device or a lot of other technology onboard that the original osiris (and current order osirises) are still equipped with. We needed the alliance and you wanted ships, but we werent about to give a bunch of pirates we just met on the edge of space the most advanced ship in sirius =P
So, something that has the general shape and appearance of the osiris, but with some of the harsher edges and spikes like the ones prevalent on current corsair capships, would be great for replacing both the stationary corsair-osiris bases, as well as giving the corsairs a light battleship to fly without having to buy one from the order guard system.
and btw could it have like 15 guns? because Corsairs are renowned for the amount of weaponry they have on thier ships including warships which the current osiris has only 12 turrets which as a BS that's aweful considering those things have too take out Nomad BS's which have 15 turrets aswell, which would compensate for the likes of Pulse cannons etc?
(can i please have one?)

I support this idea, I am none to happy about taking a ship that has been a huge part of Corsair history for such a long time completly away from us. I think this is a good idea to have both parties be happy. Since apparently the long history of the Corsairs helping the Order build thier own fleet means nothing at this point.
So the Corsairs take the current Corsair Osiris and update it to make it look somewhat different than that fo the Order's yet still look like the original Osiris?
I'm all for it.
Good idea. About the 15 guns though, that is really excessive for a battleship the size of the Osiris.
It should be slightly larger due to the addition of armour and other scary things, but without a large reduction in its capability to play its role as a long range offensive weapon. I shudder at the thought of taking a Legate through Omega 5, let alone either of the clouds in Omicron Gamma.
I reckon that it would be one of the heavier of the Light Battleship class, slightly smaller than the Bretonian battleship, with 14 gun slots and similar firing arcs of the original Osiris, but the Light BS powerplant (as opposed to the Medium BS powerplant that the Bret BS has). On the other hand, it could have 12 gun slots and the Medium BS powerplant instead. Im not really bothered which it is, as long as the slots have similar firing arcs to the original Osiris.
-It should be highly maneuverable and reasonably small, allowing for fast offensive and defensive actions.
-It should not be expected to hold the line against heavier battleships such as the Outcast Dreadnought.
Essentially, it should be able to do everything that the Osiris can do now, except with a little added punch in exchange for a little bit of maneuverability and size.
I can't imagine what a Liberty/Corsair hybrid that has been tweaked by the Order would look like though. It should still retain immediately recognisable features of the Osiris though, to represent the Corsairs taking the designs and adding things to it.

To be honest, it would just be easier for everyone (especially at this late stage) if the Osiris were allowed without question. Its not been a problem for very long, and both sides usually keep to themselves anyway. This whole issue has only become a problem recently anyway. This is just a complex solution to a small problem.
the osiris - and that is THE osiris ( the original model , not some corsair refit ) played a tremendous role in corsair development. - it is a lot less efford to have both "allies" use the ship with the suffient amount of responsibility than to make a refit version.
no custom model can really reach the same high quality of the model made by digital anvil. - but most of all, i really don t see a need for it.
just cause something is available doesn t mean its used much. - the corsairs prefer the axe before the scalpel most of the time. they use their own ships over the osiris, cause they get more boom for their bucks with the dreadnought.
the osiris is a RELIC that the corsairs used cause they had no other option. - for factions and other players, it is really that - a relic - a part of history, shared corsair history AND their own history on disco.
** one cannot take that away just like that **
the osiris belongs where it is. - but if i was a corsair today - i would probably pick a corsair dreadnought over the osiris - and make my own, new history. but if a corsair wanted to fly the osiris instead - he d have his reasons ( and hopefully these reasons are based on their characters RP and not on pvp )
but either way - maybe AoM is up for making another model.....
