Originally it was the Liberty Navy who was responsible for developing and putting together the first Osiris to grace Juneau Shipyard. Dubbed The "Osiris" This vessel was to change the way the Liberty Navy defended its systems and ferociously attacked anyone unfortunate enough to stand in their way. Unfortunately this vision did not come to fruition as defecting Order Agents stole the prototype Osiris and field tests where never able to commence. Left with only its blue prints, SECNAV decided it could not waste anymore resources on developing another prototype Osiris and focused on modifying and engineering the new wave of Overlord Battleships that would be the Icon of the Liberty Navy we know today.
As time moved on and Fleets began to expand it would later come down to which fleet would take first step in recreating the long lost "Osiris" and when Fleet Admiral Sophia Cleveland got the opportunity she took it. Much time and patience has been given to the Order and it was only a matter of time that the 5th's dedication to peace with the Order would pay off. She utilized then Rear Admiral Evans and Captain Luke Briggs as representatives of the 5th Fleet to try and mend old wounds. A representative from the Order Overwatch called Agent Solandros was the point of contact and when the subject of exchanging our new line of Carriers for an Osiris came up the Order took very well to it. Osiris Battleship Zagazig was offered to the 5th and it was accepted. Currently sitting in Juneau Shipyard this Osiris is going to be the test bed for the possible revamping of the 5th Fleet as we know it today. Much work will need to be done to bring it up to the 5th's standards but that is a price Fleet Admiral Cleveland is willing to pay.
Admiral Prower of the R&D department is going to have a rough job ahead of her as she is also overseeing the deconstruction and reverse engineering of the Gallic Royal Navy "Valor" That surrendered in the heart of California during the War. Her first mandate was quite the obvious one and sent out engineers to assess the Outer Hull for any stress fractures and damage.
The Order does not have the capabilities to service its ships like Liberty and that is where the problem comes in. The attention to detail Juneau Shipyard can provide is unmatched in the sector save for Washington Shipyard. Admiral Prower has assigned James P. Hall as the Chief Inspector and is charged with documenting everything from the tiniest bolt to the largest parts of this warship. What he writes will set the directive for everything in the future.
From the Hangars to the crew quarters, from the bridge to the engine room, and all areas in between you can say with confidence that Mr. Hall has seen every nook and cranny in this Osiris that is to be the West Virginia. Multiple notes and discrepancies have been noted and the list is not as short as the Admiralty had wanted but they know that Mr. Hall's record is clean and does things with precision. It would be unwise to send a Warship off to combat without his blessing and approval.
Damage Assessments:
• Bridge - Multiple areas where panels have short circuited resulting in failure. A small but noticeable crack on the corner of the main window. Captains chair does not have all of its functions. Map key and communications not functioning correctly.
• Crew Quarters - Not up to LIBNAV standards. Beds are poorly maintained and evident of extreme use without care. Water supply for showers have a noticeable odor. Water treatment system system needs to be repaired.
• Engine Room - Power Core not functioning up to maximum capacity further inspection is required.
• Hull - Parts of the Osiris hull was poorly patched up and time will be needed to take apart the damaged sections and rebuild them from scratch.
• Armaments - The Order weaponry needs to be removed and disposed of. Then new ones can be manufactured for the Osiris.
• Hangar - Poorly maintained areas of Snub-crafts Hangar Doors do not close properly as its misaligned.
The list is long but this was not unexpected as LIBNAV does have a higher expectation on quality work. Now that Mr. Hall's inspection is over with it will be up to Admiral Prower what to tackle first in the days to come. It is clear that LIBNAV wont tolerate any delays on this project and wants to get it off the ground as soon as possible. Liberty must always be ready for the next conflict and with the unprovoked Kusari attack on Gallia one can never be to safe in these mysterious times.
