Holy...guys!!!! guys!! I think this thing is on!
Wait Wait.....ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT The freaking camera is borked. Try wi.ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT would you stop already? I can't fix this with you 2 sticking your ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT I'm just gonna drop an audio log man, its better than nothing.
If you can receive this just listen. We dont know what happened. The captain is ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTmost of the crew. If someoneERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTdon't want to think about that. We just don't want to die out here.
I don't even know where to begin. This whole thing turned into a shit show almost as soon as we left dock. Brand new ship he said. "All we gotta do is transport some pop stars for their tour. Maybe fight off some extreme fans. And clean up their mess when its over. No big deal". I was suspicious when I noticed the reinforced plating around the ship, but I figured ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTds were too good to turn down....Im an idiot.
Then we left for Rheinland. Yeah thats what I said. Rheinland. If the Rhelesuihgjfdknveidfgh(or whatever they call themselves now) greeting us with a small fleet wasnt enough of a heart attack(false alarm though, just the captain's gf's way of saying hi apparently), the field refit they gave us was....more than concerning. Enough armor plating to rival a cruiser, aERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTshield system, updated Lyre turrets, and enough Dulzians to ignite a star. There was also something I didnt recognize at the time. I noted that ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT secondary power storage unit.
We picked up the supposed pop stars when we reached some station in Sigma-13 I had never heard of. Is that what we call the GC now? Pop stars? Pretty sure most of these ladies have graced a wanted poster...recently. Anyway, it was at this point several of us tried to voice our opposition to whatever he had planned, but he reminded us it was a very long "walk" to the nearest station, and we were being paid very well to be silent. Fine print. Always read the fine print. That night the first mate "Bobby" and several others of the crew tried to ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTthe dock. He shot thERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT. Nobody argued after that.
Everything was quiet for a few days after that. When we skipped the lanes and gates in favor of open space and jumpholes the captain knew about, we knew something was very wrong. Now the captain had a reputation for never being one to skirt a confrontation directly, often using his wit to beguile his way out. And if that failed, he alwaysERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT somehow.
Then the brown out happened. The entire ship took on an even more ominous feeling as the main lights went dark and the emergency strip flickered to life. Duty stations took on the familiar alret color tones signalling battle stations. The buzzing alarm rang through the ship like a summons. ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTdevice I mentioned earlier, was a cloak of some kind. New fangled thing just for big ships like ours. But it took way more power than the captain anticipated and it shut down most of our other systems when it got turned it on. Oh why did he turn it on? Unfortunately, just the inside of Honshu by the New Tokyo jumphole the KSP were waiting. If the cloak haddent been engaged, we would have been blown apart. Not that it did us much good passing ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT wasnt installed correctly(guess they should have asked the Fing engineer to install it on the ship huh?!) and shorted out a few k into the Chiba Asteroid Field, and thats where we met the KNF fleet.
I woke up still on the bridge. I couldnt feel my right arm, and everything had a red haziness to it, but I was alive. Took me a while to get free of the debris. The bridge was wrecked. The captain was a mangled mess under a support beam that had fallen. ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTleft of the ship log showed a desperate last ditch attempt. to save his ship and crew. Somehow the captain managed toERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT while diving under the KNF destroyers. In a last ditch effort he engaged the faulty cloak and wired all power other than life support into it. He had directed the ship into the depths of the ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTgines cut out. The cloak engaged right as a second volley wracked oERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENTadrift but unseen into the field. At some point it crashed on a ridge of a cratered asteroid(luck?).
This was 3 weeks ago. Its been hell, but Im alive. Seems Gustavo and some of the galley boys survived too. Took us the better part of a week to get to each other though. My broken arm and their general lack of mechanical skills has made it slow going. But at least I dont have to eat the rations in the emergency packs anymore. Poor Ernie is still stuck in the back half of the ship, but he says they have booze to pass the time. Lucky bastards. If the food holds out, we should be flight worthy in....a couple decades. God I hope someone finds us soon...ERROR CORRUPT DATA PRESENT. Please don't let us die out here.
