Jonathan Seabourne here, captain of Breezewood and chairman of the board of directors for Orbital Spa and Cruise. My previous contacts with the assembly having gone dark, I'm sending this out blindly hoping it will find the right channels. I hope you will forgive such an open transmission.
The wreck of battleship Betheny in the Cortez system continues to be a navigational hazard to ships in the area. It lacks the dignity of a true war grave but neither Bretonia nor Liberty have expressed much interest in the wreck. Leaving it idle has opened it up to scavengers, and I fear our current course of action will leave us with a stripped down eyesore cluttering up the skies of Curacao.
We've long desired to convert Betheny or Yukon into a proper museum / memorial to commemorate the Cortez/California front of the war. I know your government has experience with such conversions with Montreuil in Ile-de-France. Orbital was hoping to reach out to see if the Confederation was interested in a partnership to re-pressurize Betheny and convert her into a proper memorial and museum instead of leaving her a rusting hulk. Barring such a partnership, we were also interested in seeing if your government had any interest in trying to recover the vessel, or would be willing to see it respectfully dismantled as to no longer be a navigational hazard.
Obviously, your government has other issues to worry about with the current unpleasantness with Kusari. If you can spare the time to give us an idea of what Betheny's fate should be, I'd be much obliged.
Regards,
Jonathan Seabourne
