Has anyone ever developed a freestanding database that players can use to keep track of thier accounts and characters? I thought of creating one but wonder if anyone else has already done something like it.

Excell is not stand alone. You need to load excel before you can use it and it would be handy to have it cross platform. Thanks Groshyr for your hint and I see it but I cant see it working cross platform and it needs to be on the same system as the running Disco mod.

Google spreadsheets can be used on your phone, computer, whatever, and even be edited on the browser.

It updates in real time and is saved to the cloud.
