As mentioned in another thread, there is an Omega rework planned for the next patch focusing around Omega-11 being re-added to the mod in favour of Omega-2 being removed.
There is also a deep connection rework focused on improving the ability of players to get to where they need to go. As a note, the connection rework may be subject to later changes if it is not providing the expected benefits.
So, without further wait, below is an overview of the reworked connections using my amazing artistic skills.
The concept is simple, let people get where they need to be with as little hassle and needless flying as possible.
Omega-49 and Omega-41
Omega-49 will now connect to Omega-41, and this is the major change to this system. Previously anyone wishing to go to Omega-49, would have usually had to fly through Omega-47 in what is generally just a straight flight with nothing of note. This change will benefit Corsair players wishing to do stuff (whatever stuff that is) in Omega-49, and also Zoners coming in from deeper.
Segwaying from the Zoner point brings us to the changes made to Omega-41. Omega-41 has long missed its connection to Omicron Theta, the home of the Zoners. With the above connection to Omega-49 included, Zoners can now fly from Theta to 41, and from 41 to 49, in what is a very unfussy flight. 41 does lose its connection to Omega-55, but with other changes this connection is no longer required.
Omega-54, Omega-55 and Omega 47
Here is a controversial topic of which a flood thread has been made. I do not wish to dwell on the drama surrounding it, only to point out that this was discussed with Wesker months ago and no issues were raised.
Anyway, to the point, Omega-54 is gone, save its assets. Wolfsburg Shipyard is situated near Vogtland, not currently merged into the asteroid ala Corsica or Arranmore, due to the bulky nature of Wolfsburgs model, but that is a potential future change. Northeim will be mentioned later in Omega-11, where it has been moved. The unioner destroyer has moved back to Krefeld in Cologne until it has a job to fulfill. The Mighty Planet Weisbaden is now in Omega-55 north of the Hessian base, which creates some conflict in Omega-55.
Omega-54, like other former Guard systems, should have been removed a long time ago, in its current iteration, it serves as nothing more than as a repository for Hessian ship sell points and a "home" system for the Hessians, where in fact this home system is Dresden, and always has been. The re-addition of Omega-11 presented an opportunity to add Northeim, which is where Hessian pilots earn their spurs, to a system that has long been vital to the Hessians with its diamonds. As a Hessian player since 4.84 Blodo days, I know the importance of Omega-11 to the lore of the faction.
Omega-55 has received some connection upgrades, the most important of which is Omega-47. Coalition has long had a base in Omega-55, despite some significant distance between it and Omega-52, the addition of a hole in 47 not only allows Coalition to get to their base in 55 faster, it creates a more logical connection of their controlled space so to speak. Omega-55 has the potential to be a hub of sorts with multiple interests converging, and while as a non-vanilla system it is not the most popular, its open spaces and nice connectivity will allow for ease of conflict. Omega-47 has no other changes except this connection.
Omega-11 and Omega-3
Now for the meat of the reform. Omega-11 is a system many considered important, and its removal is a controversial item of a previous dev time. We are re-adding the system in the following manner;
Navmap of Omega-11
View from Northeim
View from old Daumann wreck
The main feature of the system is the addition of an enlarged sun, to help explain what had happened in the system for its temporary removal from the mod. The Daumann base exists as a wreck, as does Freital. As mentioned above Northeim from Omega-54 is in Omega-11, and is located near where Freital once stood. The anomaly field of Omega-2 and the Diamond fields are present in Omega-11, though there may be seen server side teething issues until it is where we want (moving of POBs, activation of mining zones etc).
A major difference in respect to Omega-11 is that Omega-3 will not connect to it like it does Omega-2, so like vanilla Omega-11, it will be a Rheinland centric system as it should be. This does mean BMM/BMF will lose access to Diamonds in lore (their bonuses can remain I guess, though they will have to fly to Omega-7 first, and will feel like they are picking Rheinlands pockets, which is not necessarily a bad thing).
The rework is scheduled to go live with the next patch, and as with all major reworks we appreciate patience with growing pains and assistance in helping iron out any issues that may occur.
Opps, not to forget, thank you to Omicron for his rework of Omega 11, and to Wesker for his input in its creation.
Can you make sure that the shortest route between omicron Delta and bretonia doesnt lead through omicron gamma? ( it currently is delta kappa gamma o41 o5 cambridge london )
And that it leads through places which are IRP busy with freeports and/or lanes?
Maybe add the shortest routes between important locations in color coding in your picture.

i like that finally the old connection between omega 41 and omicron theta return, but don't understand the part ok " This change will benefit Corsair players wishing to do stuff (whatever stuff that is) in Omega-49," if the main objective for the corsairs is Omega 47, mainly to take planet tangiers and defend casablanca. i also don't think that make a direct passage from o41 to o49 is necessary, since from the begining there was also o47 in the midle but ... that is just me!
do you guys know when this new patch gonna happen? i have stuff on omega 2 that i need to move ...
Because it is functionally wise the exact same system just without stations.
I guess people want their old stuff back, well I doubt it really helps to generate activity there either... one is just the other side of the same coin.

This is being looked into.
And also not through a system "owned" by a faction that sells trade visas and claims their system is "so tightly locked up its oorp for someone to enter it unnoticed".
