L.I.A. Houston Field Office, Planet Houston, Texas System
8th January 828 A.S.

The air in the interrorgation room was cold and heavy, permanently in motion, moved by the fans near the cieling. The room was small a lamp on the cieling illuminating a table in the center. Two chairs at each side of the table. On one of the chairs was a nevrous looking man.

A man wearing a standard LSF uniform walked down the corridor to the interrorgation room, producing a damped rythm with his heavy boots. He recently landed on Texas after he escorted the man who was now sitting in the room waiting for him. The man in the room was a smuggler who, was hauling artifacts when he enountered the agent and now he will help the agent and his collegues to bring the other members of this operation to justice.

He entered the room and sat down facing the man. Behind him was a one way mirror and before him this person. Taking one last look at the datapad he brought in he looked at his unfortunate victim of the interrorgation room.

"Allright. Let's get this over with. State your full name, place of birth and date of birth."

"Liberty vessel on long range scanners... shoot, he was JUST in Colorado. Well, risk it for the biscuit, hah!" the smuggler said to himself.

He opens his eyes, remembering him saying that to himself just prior to being found and detained just outside of Zone 21. What a fool! What a da**ed fool.

The man, a skinny but capable looking man in his mid 40's sporting a softly greyed moustache, shakes his head as a man wearing a standard LSF uniform marches into the room. He watches as the law man's eyes dart left and right, combing through the information on his datapad as a final refresh before asking him, "Alright. Lets get this over with. State your full name, place of birth and date of birth.".

The smuggler looks the man in his eyes. Though caught, it is apparent that the man has not lost his honor to look a man in the eyes when speaking to him.

"Name's Derrick. Derrick Cope. Place of birth, not too sure. Liberty, that's for sure. I was basically tossed from crew to crew 'outta Rochester. Date of birth, beats me. 'Round year 723 perhaps, not sure. But before we proceed, I was promised protection if I talk. Oh I'll talk alright. But I want it, for-the-record, that I'll have protection afterward. Otherwise, you might as well kill me now," Derrick replies. He leans back in the chair, folding his arms. He's not smug or arrogant. He's certain. He knows what happens to people like him who snitch.

It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.

"You start talking first or i'll send you to manhattan with a shuttle and you'll have to explain the missing ship and cargo to your buyer and to your boss."
He drops the datapad on the table and stands up. Slowly walking behind Derrick and leans close to his ear.

"Wouldn't you agree that would piss them off?"

He leans back and walks arround making a full circle arround the table back to his chair.

"Maybe they'll go easy on you. But i doubt that. It is more likely that you'll quickly find yourself on a ship bound for Malta where you'd be sold as a slave. Hell if i know when that happens i might travel there just to watch what kind of malteese caradmine maniac will have the pleasure to call you his new property."

Derrick watches the movement of the officer. It is clear that his physical contact and maneuvers is meant to intimidate the smuggler. But Derrick does not appear intimidated, though the fates listed are not ones that he would enjoy. He's heard of smugglers getting the blunt end of Liberty justice. He doesn't believe the officer is lieing, but Derrick needs some assurances.

"Like I told your uh... colleague, just outside of Norfolk Shipyard. My buyer is a man named Shark. Don't know his first name... heh, his first name might as well be Shark. Last name is Sullivan. I can't be so sure where he's at-at any given moment. But you 'gotta give me something here... give me a bone or someth'n. 'Cause if I go to Sugarland or some other place like that, word will leak that I snitched. Then I'd rather be some Corsair's bi...," Derrick tries to say when a random alarm goes off.

An officer slides open the door and peeks in. "Uh, sorry. False alarm," he says quickly before closing the door.

Derrick smirks at the distraction while he watches the officer in the interrogation room.

It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.

"You were already told. You talk and you get protection. You're not getting anymore insurances." He walks to the left side of the table.

"Start talking. I'm not the best choice when it comes to playing games." He lifts his hand to the camera in the corner above the one way mirror.

After this he simply sits down and lights a cigarette.

"So I'm listening."

"Shark Sullivan. I only met the man a couple of times. He's not the kind of guy that is seen in public often," Derrick says as he eyes the officer's cigarette igniting with his inhale.

"There is actually nothing else I can give you about him. But... I have an idea on how to draw him out..." Derrick mutters, his hand scratching under his chin.

"Let me guess. You want to act as bait." He takes a deep breath letting the smoke fill his lungs. Then exhales.

"Now we're getting somwhere." He lifts his hand to the camera in the corner above the one way mirror.

"Please continue."

"Not me... necessarily. Look uh... let's just say that Shark likes his donuts and coffee in the morning. But not just any donuts and coffee. He like his hot and fresh off of Fort Bush itself. That means he has a guy on the inside supplying that, and other things, to him. So, catch your Sunbucks smuggler, catch your intel..." Derrick says, scratching his chin even more.

It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.

The agent stands up and grabs the datapad that is still on the table. Taking another deep breath and exhaling the smoke, he heads for the door and leaves without a word. Letting the door close behind him. He heads for the door just next to this one quickly opening it and stepping inside. The room is dark and only a small number of people are inside. They are looking through the one way mirror staring down the smuggler who is still sitting in the adjacent room.

"I believe you've watched enough. This guy does not need my expertise in interrorgation to spill his secrets. " Walking up to the man still looking through the window he stops and stares through it as well.

"What do you think? We're within the borders so this is your area of expertise. Your welcome catching this guy by the way."

Michael peering through the one way mirror watching the agent perform throughout the interrogation, whilst observing the suspects reactions. He continues watching as the agent leaves the room and before long, the agent walks through the door into the room. The agent walks towards him and begins to talk, Michael continues to keep his eyes on the suspect speculating in his head if the suspect was lying.

Sure is enough, we have a lead and something to start off from. Good job on catching this one. Will get moving to Fort Bush and find this 'Shark' guy once the team is ready.

Pulls out a cigarette and lights it.

Although you did manage to draw a thing or two out of him, the info isn't the most credible i'll give ya that, seemed a tad easy for him to spill the beans with barely being 'interrogated'...by any chance you think hes lying about it?

Sits down and stares at the agent thinking maybe he will reconsider the information provided by the suspect.
