⧫ Initiate Project "Montu's Fury": Order Overwatch requested the construction of high technology heavy weapons to increase the rate of mass destruction of the Nomads and other antagonistic threats. The Osiris can use the gun for close confrontations; thus, deal colossal destruction towards heavy war-forms. ⧫ Strengthen the "Osiris" ship line: Engineers can increase the Osiris' resilience by replacing primary groups of weapons with the Montu's Fury for close encounters opposing difficult war-forms. Changes implemented are conjectured to last for an endless amount of time due to the effectiveness to improve the overall weapons, which represent no obstacles for the Osiris' to initiate heavy-tanking against common the threats. ⧫ Compile the Blueprints & save them for Future Necessities: Compiling and saving blueprints of the Montu's Fury is compulsory to continue investigations that could support the Order’s hallowed "Osiris". Engineers can use the Montu's Fury to construct an infinite amount of armaments to encounter more threatening Nomad menaces. ⧫ Fight against the Nomad Menace: While the Nomad menace is on the rise again, it’s crucial to assemble new technology pieces to resist them. Past encounters have taught us new methods on how to react against such menaces.
ASSIGNMENT
Construct advanced weaponry for the Osiris', which is essential and contributive for forthcoming close-up encounters with heavy warships. Scientist teams are ordered to assemble in-depth documentation for the project and guide the engineers - practically implement the project. Material listed in the document is supposed to be carried away by the Logistics Divison accompanied by the security. The assumed time to entirely wrap up the project in 1 day of constant work (emergency during the Operation "Spear of Anubis" - 6 hours). Order Science Division teams have called the Fort Carthage Engineers to assist with the project, alongside scientists from the Damascus Research Station. The project is introduced by Lt. Dr Raphael Chandler, while the following agents responsible for the security of the convoys & research matters: Cmdre. William Storgen and Major Eliza Fischer. Fort Carthage must have one bay available to reinforce any entering Osiris' in the coming week for the Operation "Spear of Anubis". Montu's Fury is an advanced weapon. Therefore, it requires particular consideration in the laboratories and implementation of the same upon any Osiris'. Logistics convoys are to convey supplies at the Fort Cartage with heavy escorts. Specific resources that engineers produced on Damascus Research Station are available at the station's facilities, requiring Dr Chandler's exclusive permissions. Once the Operation "Spear of Anubis" ends, the Fort Carthage may resume with standard protocols.
DESCRIPTION
Brief Description
The "Montu's Fury" is a super unit built by the Order Science Division, and is what its name implies. Capable of dishing out significant destruction against enemy assemblies, an Order Overwatch turret fires two bolts of superheated plasma. These bolts combine in a concentrated point in quick succession anywhere on the map even beyond your line of sight, doing very significant damage to nearby war-forms.
Explanation
The Plasma mortar fires huge bolts of superheated plasma, which have a reasonably large explosion radius when they hit. The weapon has a comparatively moderate rate of fire. It is remarkably robust, usually causing significant hull damage in a single hit and can destroy just about anything on the battlefield in a minimal amount of shots. Its plasma projectile moves relatively slowly, making it more susceptible to space-gravities, causing it to fire in a slight arc, useful in ambush attacks. The plasma bolt can't be out-manoeuvred easily by heavier units - but quickly by a fast warship such as the cruisers, gunboats or battlecruisers. The "Montu's Fury" is very effective against unflexible enemies, which can consume the amount of resistance the heavy war-forms have to face in battle. The "Montu's Fury" Plasma Mortar serves as an excellent long-range bombardment style projectile. The arching projectiles allow the weapon to stay at a particular position without worrying about having to aim shots precisely unliked most guns— the physical effect of plasma weapons outcome in extreme heat and the melting/boiling of enemy armour.
The earliest versions of this turret had a rotor site coupled to the gun, but these were replaced with an improved casting composition to use a retractable periscope to aim the main gun. The raw plasma casting would be used, even though a weak spot was discovered. Putting a large patch of armour over it, before it was replaced by an improved casting of the OSD elements went into use, these turrets had the thicker armour cast in over the weak spot. This spot was caused by the need to ground out a section of the armour on the turret's inside to fit the turret drive. Production of the improved larger drivers was started gradually, and they discovered that the turret and the new hatches interfered with each other. The bustle on these turrets was slung low; this is where the turret's radios were housed. Like with so many problems, there were several ways to fix it. The first was to notch the armour on the bustle, but the ultimate solution was an all-new high bustle casting, incorporating all the previous improvements castings had. As for the Plasmas, one of the most advanced defence weapons systems ever developed, the Plasma Turret uses a sizeable nuclear reactor fuel cell to power an electromagnetic accelerator that fires a pulse, or toroid, of plasma. During operation, the Plasma turret first locks in on a target and begins the process of firing. A plasma sphere is created in the turrets core by superheating and compressing gases, stripping them of their electrons to form ions. Once the gas is superheated, compressed, and two plasmaspheres are created, it is then loaded into the electromagnetic accelerator, then energised. Once fully energised, the accelerator is then activated, which results in the plasma spheres being concentrated at a too high rate of speed. Moments later the spheres are cast towards the opponent warships. From your target's perspective, the approaching bluish ball of plasma is impressive, but once it strikes, it causes instantaneous annihilation.
TASK REALIZATION
The Fort Carthage shall operate a quality assurance system. All essential details concerning the components concerned' quality and functional ability shall be entered in the manufacturing documents, workshop drawings, et cetera. This includes scantlings but, where relevant, such items as surface conditions, and unique methods of manufacture involved as well as inspection and acceptance requirements and, where appropriate, permissible tolerances. To prevent cracking, flame-cutting flash or sheering burrs shall be removed before cold forming. After cold forming, all structural components and, in particular, the ends of bends are to be examined for cracks within weapon's cores. Except in cases where edge cracks are negligible, all cracked components are to be rejected. Repair welding is not permissible. After completion of welding, straightening and aligning shall be carried out in such a manner that the material properties will not be significantly influenced. In case of doubt, the project may require a procedure test or a functional test to be carried out. Girders, beams, stiffeners, frames, etc. that are interrupted by partitions, decks, etc. have to be accurately aligned. In the case of critical components, control drillings are to be made where necessary. After completion, the weapon may be tested by the scientists before put into a practical combat
THE CONCLUSION
This desecrated Plasma Gun fires charged energy pulses able to damage heavy war-forms. This rapid-fire weapon is fatal but prone to overheating. Wielders must manage heat carefully lest their weapon shut down in the heat of battle. A two-handed turret fires pulses of superheated ionised gas towards the enemy that detonate with the power of a small sun, after it had been concentrated in one particular spot. While extremely effective at melting through any hull parts, the plasma turret is also prone to building up to dangerous heat levels that must be vented to prevent fatal errors during usage. Fired continuously, it can fire up to 2 shots within a second before overheating. Holding down the fire button to produce a charged projectile will continue to overheat the gun until the shot is released. At a minimum, each charged missile will inflict about 40% on the general turret's overheating.
