Gonna skip straight to business because this isn't a courtesy call. You may have figured this was coming, but I tend to agree with the boys on Mon-.. Riley when it comes to their system of operation.
Wichita's been on my radar for quite a while as a logical step to expand, if not the planet then the micro-system as a whole. It's close, it's understood, and for the most part it's undeveloped. A stronger foothold in Kansas would give us the presence we'd need to eventually strike at Pennsylvania, and I know plenty of those Zoners there would flip sides if they knew that liberation was a possibility on their agenda.
That doesn't even dive into the potential the planet itself has for development, not to mention flexing factor. It gives some of the refugees on Veracruz something to do, it offers a larger appeal to incoming labor forces, and appears to be rich in minerals we can use to fuel our agenda. Occupying the planet also gives us the reigns of the system, and would serve as a massive middle finger to the Republic. A ragtag group of traitors and pirates colonizing and developing a planet the Republic had for years been unable or unwilling to? If I were them, I'd be pissed.
Only issues I can see are our buddies in the Technocracy, but I haven't seen many of their ships coming to or from the planet in recent months, so either their interests dwindled or they disappeared altogether.
Either way, this is mostly just a shower thought at the moment, but I do like to capitalize on my shower thoughts. The Arcturus should be proof of that.
That's all.
West, out.
