Heavy CMs are for capships and transports. Need to get an Enhanced CM for your fighter.

Yes. Heavy CMs are meant to be used by capital ships, for a fighter you should be using Enh. CMs.

You know the Barghest bomber can actually use the Hvy. CMs while only losing around 3 bars of energy if I remember right. Still not great but it is quite usable.

Not when you want to bomb something. Dropping a flare will use up your energy, and bombers don't recharge really fast. Not to mention that after a SN / Nova discharge, the CM might not fire at all because youre low on energy.

Heavy CMs are pretty much for capital ships only now. Even transports have trouble using them efficently, it screwed my Firefly over when I was getting attacked by a CD spamming dessie. I could only fire 10 heavy CMs and then I was out of energy.
