It is the time to talk about important things. Not too many of us want to face the truth that the slave labor is awfully inefficient and needs to be replaced with modern technical tools. We are far passed the point where we cannot afford mechanization of our agriculture. I insist that our agriculture is in dire need of mechanization and that slave markets on Malta need to get closed rather sooner than later.
My suggestion is that we completely replace slave imports with the imports of fine tractors and other means of mechanized modern agriculture to work on our blessed Cardamine fields.
I propose to impose a ban on slave imports and encourage rapid modernization. This will drastically improve our reputation in Houses as well. I think that Imperials could spearhead the effort, and others should really support it.
Let me hear what honorable Dons think on the matter.

Would our economy be able to handle such high-tech and complex machinery? I'm worried this is a bit more than we can chew. If you offered to build a warship capable of destroying stations and even small planetary bodies, I'd say - yeah, we can probably engineer that. But tractors that can help with agriculture? I think you're pushing our technological advancement too far. Who knows how many months R&D on Corsica would need to spend in order to device such machinery. And then to think how much resources we would need from the colonies in order to maintain it.
I will personally invest some of my family money if project will face the lack of funding. I know it's risky to have one tractor on the field instead of 100 slaves bleeding out cut, but sometimes we need to take risks.
