So I've been away from this for about a decade, finally got the latest version of Discovery up and running after several days after fighting with my machine's resistance with installing it and getting it to function properly. I've played SP for about 9 hours, finally got the massive freighter I've always wanted, now it's stuck in the Cordova station dock in Magellan (yeah, I know about the size discrepancy, boy do I know about it! ). I'm trying to get it unwedged, and apparently there's console commands I can use to jump the ship to a spot several hundred meters away, but I can't seem to find any way to open this console. Can I grab some help, pretty please?
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to have to start over grind away for another 9+ hours to get back to my current financial/ship owenership position, though I suspect that's likely be all that I can do.
If you're stuck in SP, I'm personally not sure what to tell you...but, when you play w/ us on the server in MP, the hook command is /stuck
you could always try that in SP & see what happens. (if anything)
The thing is, SP & MP do not work together overall
type "base ***" where "***" is a name of some base, for example "base Cordova" will moor your ship on Cordova for you to try to get out of it. Or you can try the other base, like "base Manhattan". Mind however, that unless you manually move your saves to other folder, all the progress will get lost.
Go to Options > Controls > Multiplayer, the button listed there for Chat is used for opening the console in singleplayer as well.
The console command that nudges your ship away from the station only works in multiplayer, but you can use the ghost command for singleplayer. Type that in the chatbox and press enter, it'll disable the collision on your ship, you'll get a "Ghost: On" notice on left side of the screen and you'll be able to fly out of the station without getting stuck, once out, type the same command again, it should show a "Ghost: Off" notice and collision of your ship will go back to normal. You can check rest of the available singleplayer commands through the help command.
Also as a side note, the mod isn't fully compatible with singleplayer and some of the features (like mining) only work properly in multiplayer, so if you prefer playing solo/offline, I'd still suggest running your own local multiplayer server for it (through flserver.exe in your install folder) instead of singleplayer, that way you'll hopefully have a smoother experience.
