Known in the kith's native tongue as 'amsaiira' ('the procession'), much like its namesake their fleet is an eminently mobile one, driven on by the same search for new opportunities and new horizons that saw their ancestors cross the desert and oceans of eld.
Albeit much diminished after recent unfortunate events, the amsaiira mostly stands by its original organisational choices - a flagship to lead and control the fleet, forgeships and mining freighters to serve as its beating heart, escorts to defend them and recons to observe its periphery.
While typically moving as one, the realities of modern business mean that the amsaiira sometimes splits temporarily as it pursues a certain contract - a forgeship or more remain behind, suitably defended, while the rest of the fleet moves on and stands ready to return at a moment's notice.
As of the time of writing, the fleet consists of:
- the flagship 'Sabik', Sagarmatha-class IMG battlecruiser.
- the forgeship 'Aldebaran', Uruz-class Rheinlander heavy transport.
- two bombers, of the IMG Nanda Devi class
- six light fighters, of the IMG Manaslu class.
- four 'Alkes' mining freighters, of the IMG Annapurna class.
- two asteroid miners, of the Hegemon class.
THE VANISHING OF THE SABIK
Prior to its last sortie into the fringes, Kith Errai was something of a darling among the many groups that spontaneously form in and around the IMG - although sectarian they were prosperous, enterprising, even adventurous and willing to brave frontiers deemed too risky by others.
In 827, those others would be finally proven right.
Sailed out from the family's own starbase with the Sabik and the almost entirety of their fleet, headed for the uncharted regions in the north, only the battered and bruised form of the once-proud warship and a handful of crewmembers made their return, in such a state of mind to make piecing together what happened an impossibility.
The losses in terms of lives and resources were cataclysmic; and worse still, their chieftain was not among those who had returned.
With leadership thrust upon his son and daughter, young and inexperienced both, a time of hardships would start - and worse would only be narrowly avoided by the decisive intervention of the two, as they resolved to sell their holdings in order to recompense the families of the lost and the massive repairs to the Sabik, from which the mighty warship still emerged scathed.
What few credits remained were reinvested in a smattering of freighters and light miners, as well as new crew to man them, and they set to work to slowly climb their way back up.
Eliyah's twin sister, commanding officer of the Sabik and young chieftain of the Errai with her brother.
Steadfast, evenhanded and ardent, her personality stands in sharp contrast with that of her often wistful and museful brother; nevertheless, while the two may (and often do) disagree on perspectives and approach, they share a strong bond and lead as one.
Favours the future in all its forms over the past, from new horizons to novel opportunities, trusting in the virtues of resolve and boldness to drive the present.
Eliyah Errai, XO
Aaliyah's twin brother, executive officer of the Sabik and young chieftain of the Errai with his sister.
Serene, levelheaded and contemplative, his personality stands in sharp contrast with that of his often impetuous and overeager sister; nevertheless, while the two may (and often do) disagree on perspectives and approach, they share a strong bond and lead as one.
Favours the past in all its forms over the future, from ancient histories to myths of their people, trusting in the wisdom of elders to chart the present.
Vittorio De Magistris, Navigation Officer
The suave and cavalier navigation officer for the Sabik and the group's operations.
Libertonian-born but proud of its Hispanian ancestry, equally at ease when dealing with corporations or their aggressors, and suspiciously well-informed about most goings-on in and out the house; whether it is a result of natural curiosity, remarkable expertise in the usage of charts, scanners and sensors or something else is a matter of frequent speculation.
Always willing to help a 'fratè' out, especially if the 'fratè' in question happens to hail from the Omicrons.
Heike Rheinstadt-Gerat Loken, Engineering Officer
The pyrotechnic engineering officer of the Sabik (and pilot of the Akrab).
Rumoured to be the scion of a noble Rheinlander family, either disgraced as a whole or singularly disinherited, one with little patience for her own lack of patience, her impulsive nature and her predilection for pyrotechnics and heavy metal(s); employment in an industry devoted to breaking things apart with massive cannons sounded like the natural choice.
Likes to hop into bombers to break some more.
Iris Douglas, Surveyor
A trainee Manaslu pilot for Kith Errai, tasked with surveying promising OP locations.
Born to an astronomy professor and an aeronautics engineer on Cambridge, Bretonia, Iris inherited and gladly accepted her parents' love for the wonders of the universe - despite the hostility of its inhabitants - and added to it a burning desire to see them for herself.
She would get the chance not long after graduation, acquiring a flight license and signing up with a certain IMG group to repay the expenses; and afterwards, to support her sister Amy's own noble, if less-than-lawful, 'endeavours' back in the Realm.
