Esteemed members of the Government of Bretonia,

I am putting forth this communication in during a time of much debate over the recent embargo set upon the Gallic Union.

A representative of the Maquisard movement, namely Lionel Boucher of the Front de Libération, has sent a transmission detailing their short-term plans and a request to lift the embargo for the usage of Sirian ships that would carry propaganda.

A copy of the message is attached below; I will expect an update on our situation and whether the Armed Forces should cooperate with the Maquisard plan.

Right - so I can tell you the Union is trying to push a xenophobic racist agenda, trying to paint Bretonians as warmongering devils internally that care little for Gallic lives.

That gets me to my point. The system of Lorraine. It is on the verge of famine and there have been strong calls for independence already. We have contacts planet-wide on planet Metz capable of distributing supplies to the people directly. These supplies bypass the Union distribution networks, and have been a great way to undermine their authority, turn their people against them and show them that Sirius has issues with the leaders, not the common lower classes that never were part of Charles' war machine. Part of the reason is that the supplies have been laced with pro-Sirian including pro-Bretonian propaganda.

Their people starving, the Union focusing on re-arming their arsenal instead of restoring the system, this is the time to push Lorraine towards autonomy or even secede from the Union. Now I don't think I have to tell you the strategic gains of a Gallic Borderworld being free of the grip of the Union. a buffer would be created, Sirian influence could be increased on Gallic territory without a fight and the Union itself would be suffer a massive PR loss.

Now - why am I telling you all this, and why should you care? We don't want your forces to get involved, and you are no haulers. Well, come November Lorraine will be given the chance to gain independence. Part of it will be a massive pro-Sirian campaign, and for that we require haulers that are willing to go against the Union, to undermine their Xenophobic doctrine and soften the people towards the idea that Lorraine is better off going it alone while we will give the chance for the people to rise up with our forces. Contracts will be made as they have been in the past, and the companies will be hauling to Gallia, but they will be hauling against the Union interests while the fireworks start and people get the chance to rise up.

All you need to do to put pressure on the Union, undermine it for years to come, make your position much stronger and in the long run save millions of lives, while not firing a single shot or commiting a single asset is to turn a blind eye on Sirian companies for several days in November that will be hauling the anti-Union pro-Sirian propaganda laced food supplies to Lorraine while we make space for them and cause turmoil in the system.

My salutations to you, Fleet Admiral Spencer. I am Secretary to the Prime Minister, Leicester Blackett. This Maquis affair of yours is very sensitive, so it was deemed best that I address its finer points with you.

The Kingdom of Bretonia is a nation that considers Her Majesty's interests and those of her loyal subjects above all else. Bretonian foreign policy has historically striven towards pragmatism as its defining attribute, though it must remain known that we never disregard humanistic ideals. One example are the Sydney Accords. There, the Realm reached an understanding with its ancient enemy, the Coalition, that the Realm saw significant benefit in, and also significant benefit for all of humanity. That is the principle according to which all respectable contemporary states conduct their foreign policy -- national interest first, and then that of the rest of humanity. With regard to this, it would be shameful if those services due to inform you what kind of activities are that the Maquis does, have not informed you, so I shall assume that they have done their duty. Their activity, of the Maquis, whatever it is they do, has so far been limited to Gallia. This is important because it is you and your forces that are enforcing Bretonia's will. It will, then, rest on your shoulders, fleet admiral, to evaluate the gravity of Bretonia's national interest in this affair of yours.

Propaganda carrying ships are a much simpler matter and they will, of course, be excluded from the embargo if under escort by your forces, or those of the BPA or our intelligence service. If the Maquis wish to provide them safety, then we see no problem with that -- we are disturbed when innocent people suffer, but ensuring safe travels and arrival of friendly ships is not something that we will judge as inappropriate.

I am thankful for the swift response on this matter, it was one we required clarification due to the nature of Maquisard request and the recent embargo set upon the nation of Gallia.

The Maquis representative will be informed of these changes as soon as possible, as well as of the terms of this deal. The Armed Forces Oversector North will be ordered to mobilize more patrols into the Tau systems and Leeds, to aid in this endeavour. If any changes occur on the terms of the embargo, inform me as soon as possible for additional changes.

Government representatives,

Since December 828 A.S., the Armed Forces have mobilized more units in the Tau region. Whilst the Gauls were easily swept aside by our experienced military, another faction has risen to challenge us.

The Crayter Republic has been seen utilizing the blockade as a pretext to redirect overzealous and anti-Bretonian Commanders into the region and attempt to cause chaos in-between our lines. Addtionally, their Fleet Admiral has given us an ultimatum to retreat from the Taus. This cannot be allowed to continue much longer.

While the Armed Forces have already put contingency plans into action, we wish to inform all goverment representatives of the current situation at the border. Furthermore, as Fleet Admiral, I request that the Houses of Kusari and Liberty are informed of the incidents as soon as possible; we are already preparing a message for the Kusari Naval Forces' leadership and their goverment, however expecting confirmation that we can complete it.

Esteemed members of the Government,

As the military of the Republic of Liberty is making gains within the Kansas system, following the start of a large-scale operation against the Insurgency, our brave pilots sent to aid the Republic have been killed mercilessly by the Insurgent terrorists. The lack of information provided by the Republic's military and intelligence services has culminated in the loss of the Armed Forces flotilla sent to foray into the Vespucci system.

On behalf on the entirety of the Armed Forces, and as the acting Fleet Admiral, I request that immediate action is taken and the libertonian counterparts are contacted în light of this disaster caused by their incompetence. An explanation for the lack of data and support on the field must be presented to prevent other such incidents in the future.

Total losses suffered mount to two destroyers, dispatched from Magellan, and four fighter wings that escorted them. It represents an unacceptable loss of life for our people and we must no longer allow foreign powers to dictate what Bretonia shall do.
