I've been working on a render in Gimp for my character Kasugai Hatsumi, based on a picture of Edison Chen and a uniformed gundam character. Here's my progress so far:
Since I've been staring at this for more time than I care to count, I can't tell if the head is proportionate to the body. So will someone be a second pair of eyes?
This is far from finished, but any constructive criticism is welcomed (mostly concerning the colors).
Looks like it is! Wonderful job on it:DThe only thing I would change is the right side shoulder. I dont know but for some reason it dont look right to me...
I think linkero is referring to the other one. The dark part on top of the shoulder, doesn't seem to be exactly on top on the right side. It is on the left one though (right = in the back, left = in front)
The first thing that stands out is the ear. It's too high. Measure on your own face to see where they go, but generally the top of the ears are around eye height, while the bottom of the ear is the same height as the bottom of your nose.
Also that line sticking up on the left side that you've used to indicate the crease between the chest and the sleeve is too high. Makes his shoulder look to thin, but it's a common mistake to make when you're drawing a close up.
And although there's nothing wrong with the width of your neck, you should be aware of where the neck connects with the back of the head and the jaw. If you fix the ear, it won't be so bad, though.
Wow thanks everyone. It's funny how I didn't notice these things about it before. I'll try to fix up the issues between my insane schedule this week and take it back here for input.

He's looking down a bit. I think if you look at the angle of his head, a line from the eye back would hit the top of the ear.

No, believe me, the ears are too high.
there's the picture with some basic construction and guidelines drawn over the top. I even indicated where I think the ears should be. Although I prefer to draw the basic shapes for my heads as one single shape, rather than two. Gives the head a more natural shape, rather than the icecream-cone effect most people use... O>
Also, your linework in places like the hair is very clean, but your straighter lines on the jacket are very rough and you can clearly see the edges. Try making them look a little nicer maybe, and I dunno if it was intentional but the jawline looks a little wobbly on both sides. Try straighten it up.
And... I'm jealous of your colouring skills D:
Drawing and anatomy I can do... colouring and shading I cannot...
