Purpose- The purpose of the Independent Army is to force the Taus into a near anarchy government. Supported by radicalist Zoners, radical ex-IMG and ex-war veterans; the IA hopes to overwhelm forces in the Taus with guerrilla style fighting.
If all is successful in the Taus, the IA will set up a rather flimsy government that by leasing land, will pay for the protection of the system to hungry empires wishing to pry upon the fertile space of the Taus.
The IA will largely except that they were not the first their and adhere to letting original business and factions of Taus go about their business. The IA remains firm that the Taus should be an area of free will, free trade and no contraband.
Unlike many discriminators claim, the IA is not power hungry and wants to gain control of the Taus, rather than pursue fighting in either Kusari or Bretonian systems.
To the people who support the movement, and understand it, we are peaceful and idealist. Our major goal is to cleanse the Taus and restore them a state of tranquility.
Ensign - Ensign are people wishing to try out the faction and willing to participate in faction events.
Ship- Griffin LF with a Recruit ID
To join as a member of the IA they must have been reviewed and approved by an existing member of the IA. -Upfront, we'll be letting people join without this taking effect. If it grows large enough (20+ people) then this will come into effect.
Get's Faction-Tag'd after becoming one of the below.

I am interested to see some more on the faction' background... the idea in general sounds good.
As to the shiplist, idk much... IMG and Zoner ships maybe?
I pictured the CR more of protecting their interest rather than actual fighters. They just want people out of their territory.
And as far as how we would operate. Our goal isn't war, it's to move those two houses out of the Tau's. If we were a group who wanted a peaceful nation, we wouldn't to fight all the time. Rather ask them to leave, and as a last resort fight.
As far as other ships. I don't see why we couldn't allow some Zoner and IMG ships. We'd have to negotiate the terms and make sure it's okay with them (mostly IMG) though.
I will be coming up with a better background story. I want to get the final product done so I know where I'm going.
I don't see why the IMG'd give ships to someone who does not in any way serve the interests of the IMG.
To be frank, the whole idea smells bad to me. Though I don't say that you might not be right and that this is not a good idea. Well enlighten us a bit more, please.
And though I don't lead the CR in any way, I'm *pretty* sure we'd not be so friendly to someone wishing to unite the Taus under one banner, if that banner would not be ours.
The very thought of BMM, IMG, and CR as one nation is just plain old.. inconceivable.
I'd imagine you'd stand alone in the Taus, with probably everyone being strongly against you, and the IMG probably keeping neutrality as they show that kind of behaviour and affinity, which does make sense after all, them being a corporation primarily.
Also, what Marvin asked.
Who exactly are those civilians in the Taus that are not the civilians of the IMG, the civilian part of the Colonial Nation/Republic, or Bretonia and Kusari?
You need to clarify your intentions more. Do you wish to merely push out Bretonia and Kusari? Or is there some .. ulterior motives?
Talk a bit about it all.

I'd imagine they'd be either served in the Bretonian/Kursari navies. And like people from real wars come to find it unnecessary.
My RP character for example will be a mechanic on board a Bretonian battleship that was destroyed in the very first battles in the Tau's. He is covered in third degree burns and is eventually found by the IMG floating in space. I could expand, which I will, but you get the idea.
Our characters are idealist not fighters per say. Fighting, like I said above, is a last resort.
In a short answer.
RP-allowed...
->Ex- Bretonian / Kursari Navy Personnel
->Idealist
->Traders (who may have been effected by the war)
->Miners (who may have been effected by the war)
->Pirates / Smugglers Volunteering for the cause
Explanation: Why would a pirate/smuggler want to volunteer for the IA?
1) Smuggler: In the Tau Republic, there would be no contraband, it would be a completely free society. Essentially a safe haven of sorts.
2) Pirate: Perhaps he has a buff with either navies, or wants to change his lifestyle. I don't have a great answer for this one but I felt it was decent RP.
Pirate RP: He leaves his old life of piracy to pursue a lawful career. He doesn't exactly love any of the original houses. I mean we are friendly with unlawful Bretonian and Kursari agents.
Sure there might be a special RP, but people of the IA would have to review it first.
The goal is to push out Bretonia and Kursari, no alternative motives. And as far as one banner. We'd enforce the everyone mind their own business.
Effectively, the only thing that we would change would be the war in the Tau's.
If BMM started attacking IMG/CR or whatever, we'd impose a fine and sanction their members from trading for a period of time.
The goal is not to unite all the people in the Taus as much as it is to create a better society than what exist now. The only thing that would be different would be that the IA was there and there weren't Kursari or Bretonia. All the companies/factions of the Tau's would go about their business, no strings attached or restrictions.
Short answer,
Nothing changes except the presence of Kursari and Bretonian navies in the Taus.
Hm Doom's posting.. anywho will see what he says and then edit this post.
Anywho, lemme say.. This whole idea of a peaceful life between smugglers who support the Outcast pirates and the Colonials who've lost much because of those same Outcasts, and those being the same Colonials that suffered a lot of hardship from Bretonia, therefore not being very sympathetic to the BMM.
Also, I don't see why all the factions in the Taus would simply bend over and allow a small group of idealists who have little economical and military power dictate what they would and would not do, and levy fines upon them.

what bases you would use for deploying your ships?....
you say you are friendly to unlawfulls in bretonia and Kusari....well unlawful in Bretonia are corsairs, gaians etc, in Kusari outcasts, GC, BD etc.
So if you are friendly to them, how can you protect civilians in Taus when most of the unlawfuls in bretonia and kusari are also hostile to some others that fly around Taus?
Not to mention that relations between factions in Taus are so complicated right now...
