NEW LONDON - Although refusing to make comments on the recent events in Bretonia until now, the Chief of the Defence Bureau, a branch of the Bretonian Armed Forces, tasked with internal security and information gathering, has made an appearance to the public, in an announced meeting to clarify the tragedy that shook the House.
Dressed in a different uniform than on previous uniforms, and whilst maintaining the same, confident tone, Chief Harold delivered a brief yet patriotic speech to the people gathered at the event - a signature move of his carrer thus far. In spite of this, when asked about the events that led to the death of the Fleet Admiral, Chief Harold only said that "details are still unclear and that the investigation has not yet concluded". He continued by stating that the suspects of this incident are most likely "outside elements", a frequently-used reference to the other Houses.
Meanwhile, in a move characterized by both the Bureau Chief and the Police Authority as a "measure to stabilize the Kingdom and rid of the bandits causing chaos inside our House", a number of capital ships were seen arriving in orbit of New London and Cambridge earlier this day. It is unclear what their main purpose is due to the presence of both the Norfolk and the Somerset as platforms for planetary defense, however increased police activity has been reported in several of the large cities on New London.
We have also presented the invasion of Insurgency space by the Armed Forces and Liberty Navy, acting in cooperation, and bring the latest news from the front. While the majority of the BAF garrison within Manchester has been redirected to Magellan, the destruction of the Liverpool Border Station has forced the hand of the Admiralty into redeploying several capital ships to Manchester once again. Police patrols have also been increased as a direct move to counter any other possible attacks by the Mollys and Gaians.
It remains unclear how many other warships the Crown can spare - the Glassing of Leeds resulted in the loss of the main manufacturing site for spaceship components within Bretonia. With the addition of the debt, a bleak picture of the real state of the "proud" Armed Forces can be made - one that shows the military of Bretonia as a mere shadow of its past.
We will bring another broadcast next week, with more details on the death of the Fleet Admiral and the state of the Magellan offensive.
