Hmm... if you read the faction description carefully, you will recognize, that working for ALG is more than that. Sure... if some newbie will appear and wants to work for ALG, we will advice him to start with such a character... because it's easy to do: go somewhere where scrap metal is floating around, do a little pew-pew and fly this stuff back. Not that interesting at all.
But look at Ralf Schmied in his [ALG]-TBX-Unimog... getting some nuclear devices from a remote Bretonian battleship and hauling it back to New Berlin for some research, reverse engineering and finally disarmament.:)In my humble opinion this offers quite some possibilities to RP.
' Wrote:and the what ship?? i havent heard of that at all! :shok:where is it located?
The Muellfahrer.:PIt's Rashnoks ship... I didn't know it also, but after I started some RP with ALG I met the Muellfahrer in space. And don't underestimate him... Rashnok is TEH ALG rumor guru. I'm glad that he supports me with this task.
Okay folks, I combined our actual material in the first post, so it looks better. I would ask you to provide me with possible mistakes within this text. (logical or RP ones)
although if i was you i would try and secure a number of RT's from us IMG for escort pilots and speaking of which the IMG's Charon HF is a civilian ship now and its pretty good so i cant see why not to add it plus the Spatial isnt the greatest of ships to have as escort heh only if you armed it with hard-hitting guns and came across anything bigger than a fighter
one thing though:
"Freighters (cargo < 1000):
[ALG]-TGS-< ship name > (e.g. [ALG]-TGS-Econic)
Transports: (cargo > 1000):
[ALG]-TGX-< ship name > (e.g. [ALG]-TGX-Unimog)
"
why not go with simple "ALG|ship name[F]" (F = Freighters, T = Transports):P
edit: just clicked onto something, Freistadt has the Kiith Somtaw line of ships which include a light and super-heavy fighter and they are civilian aswell
you have the Kushan Heavy fighter so why not have the Kushan Scout? it would be a suitable light fighter
I also find it necessary to remind everyone that ALG is a very shady company. One of the primary reasons that they will willingly take away and reprocess everyone's waste without asking questions is because they can reverse engineer it.
"ALG would like to produce Super Alloys at our Dortmund plant in the near future. We are perfectly willing to handle other people's garbage for a chance to eventually learn exactly how their products are made. "
ALG is the king of corporate espionage, not to mention funding various unlawful groups in order to raise costs for competitors.
Yes, thanks Rashnok, that is indeed an important one. I'd like to implement this passage:
Quote:Some economic analysts believe, that ALG's fast expansion is based on not so honourable manners. The fact that there are ALG emplyees on many space stations and battleships of every major house, conceived suspicion among some companies and military consultants. It's their conviction, that the ALG workers job doesn't include taking out the waste only, but have their ears and eyes open for neccessary information about ALG's competitors and possible new customers.
Furthermore they claim that ALG engineers analyse every part they find within their waste in order to reconstruct the used technologies. This would give them a major advantage on the market.
Sorry that this passed my notice and for the late reply.
Okay I can help you with what's behind Helgoland from GMG's PoV as well as the Diplomacy.
At the conclusion of "The Eighty" Rheinland's entire fleet was wasted. (yes, the Chancelor back then foolishly ordered the rest of the Rheinland fleet into and ambush). When the treaty was signed, ALG was given the job to clean up the mess. Unfortunately for ALG, GMG isn't helping or co-operating at all. Instead GMG is supervising and slowly getting irate at the length of time it is taking to clear all that out of the Sigmas (Junkers are purposfully making it take longer to prolong losing a source of income). Despite the stalling of the clean-up and "The Eighty" GMG has all the Rheinland companies at Neutral except Kruger. Kruger, RM, and RFP are viewed with hostility by GMG and they are KoS in GMG space. I'm not sure but I thought ALG viewed GMG with hostility, if it is I couldn't imagine why - maybe we hassle ALG to move faster *shrugs*. What I do know is that currently ALG is the closest Rheinland gets to being friends with GMG and that is Neutral. If ALG and Kruger were to merge I imagine that rep would go lower by a couple notches. Also note that the Rheinland PoW's from the war are sent to GMG to mine Plutonium off of Planet Miura. Even if the treaty were to end would any of the Rheinland factions ever be higher than Neutral? I doubt it, I'm sure even most of Rheinland's unlawfuls wouldn't be too pleased as well.
Thanks ProwlerPC and Simon Black. You're both right. I corrected Synth Foods, Inc. to a neutral status. I can't put them on the friendly list, because this would contradict the point, that ALG covertly supports the LWB with funds. I'm a little stuck here, because LWB frankly has to go on the friendly list. But this can't be done, because they're unlawfuls actually.
Furthermore I put the GMG on the neutral list also. Your arguments are logical, thanks for that. I will implement some sentences about the relationship between ALG and the GMG.
The vanilla reputations for ALG in vanilla were just plain wrong. In vanilla, you had ALG and GMG constantly fighting each other, despite being "partners" in the cleanup.
It might also be of note that, in terms of NPCs, LWB and ALG are not hostile. I know this is not the stance that the players are taking, but this is simply what the NPCs say. The whole deal about LWB attacking fertilizer shipments is based solely on rumours and player RP. Nowhere in the game has it been manifested.
I also, personally, think that ALG and Liberty need to enter into some kind of diplomatic talks. Liberty has nowhere else for its Toxic Waste to be disposed of and ALG requires Liberty to keep its waste disposal profitable. Considering the materials that ALG would be transporting, toxic waste and scrap metal and the like, it wouldn't be totally mad for there to be an official exception for such vessels, just as there is for ones moving people.
ALG has always interested me for some reason, probably because they are so unique in what they do.... I never got around to making a character with them
But I'll say this, it's so nice to see them getting some attention and proper recognition
