Well, we were talking on the assistance channel and we came up with the idea of an award to be given out for outstanding RP. Here is the format we have come up with so far.
Quote:It will be given out bi-weekly (every other week)
The first week players can be nominated. Every nomination must be made by no less than two members. Descriptions for the reason for the nomination must be made via PM by all nominating parties. Descriptions must include a link to the forum or wiki RP and reason why it is worthy or a detailed description of the in-game RP.
The second week voting will take place. The candidates names will not be revealed to keep this from becoming a popularity contest. The voting will be based off of the description of in-game RP or graphs from the forum or wiki RP. Although people could use the search function to find out who wrote the RP or may know already, hopefully they will use their better judgment and base their decision off of the quality of the RP or be too lazy to look it up.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in the amounts of 10 / 5 / 2.5 M to start out with. If people and/or factions decide to support this idea this number could rise dramatically.
So, what does everyone think and is anyone interested in helping?
If you can get together a good enough proposal on how best to judge the best RP etc etc, then i'm willing to put down an additional 25 million credits for 1st prize, an additional 10 million for second prize and 5 million for 3rd prize, on top of the currently proposed credit amounts for prizes. Oh and i'm willing to do that for every time the prizes are handed out. I'm all for trying to increase decent RP.
So you dont like the idea of blind player judging Kuraine? I think it could work. I choose it to help promote a sense of community and that everyone had a say and so the judges couldnt be accused of bias, as everyone will be the judge and no one will know who's who. If we go with actually having judges though pleas say if you'd be interested in doing that everyone.
Nah, its more than you shouldn't simply take people's word for it that it is great RP. Obviously needs to be a good method of ascertaining and verifying proof in regards to the RP, so as to prevent people cheating.
Well, there's no "formula" or numerical system for determining what is good RP and what is not. It's all based on opinion, since it is a creative work after all.
