Kalimera Fellow Corsairs,
I bring grave news: Deterrence's Cimitarra Company has discovered a new variety of AI vessel. These craft are heavier hitting than the standard drones that we have met up until now. They are also more aggressive, having struck out at Corsair convoys and escorts causing severe loss of life and property. This experience has allowed us to determine that these vessels are capable of taking on our capital ships when in numbers. We have decided to classify them in the "bomber" class.
Up until now we have been lax regarding the threat from the AI, they generally keep to themselves and are not known for causing us problems. There are even records of individual AI craft being welcome here on Crete. However, this lax nature changes today.
Deterrence is going to attempt to mount a retaliatory strike against the AI that have been attacking us. To this end we will be fielding a fleet of primarily fightercraft, bombers and gunboats, backed up some larger Capital Ships as a show of force.
We plan to use the capital ships to blockade the Kappa Jumphole, while the more agile attack force fights it out with the enemy.
The caps will only be sent in to fight if the enemy sends in cruisers, or attempts to bypass our fleet and head for Gamma.
Deterrence acknowledges that not all AI are hostile to us. We will give all AI vessels encountered the chance to surrender and leave the system, provided they are not carrying Corsair Pilots, Slaves or Cardamine.
Our forces will gather on Saturday 25th of June at 19:00UTC
Participants may bring a vessel of their choice, but caps will be asked to sit back and let snubcraft fight it out unless enemy caps are present.
In the event that we significantly outnumber the AI, we will grant our enemy a chance to negotiate a more fair fight.
If the AI do not attend in any significant number, we will return to Crete while complaining about wasted time and H-fuel, get drunk, get cocky and go raid somewhere else in true Corsair fashion.
This is just for fun and pews, please remain fair and sportsmanlike no matter how things turn out.
There is no plan for any roleplay consequences from this event. This may change depending on the nature of the roleplay presented on the day.

Hola UncleCommander Multannus,
Today we set out for Omicron Kappa as planned. However as you're probably aware, over the last week or so AI activity has died down. So, to be blunt, there was nothing out there.
We followed the plan, blocked the jumphole, patrolled the area and did our best to find even one enemy. Yet there was no-one. The captain of the Aegis suggested we contact Planet Gammu, but all we received was weird radio static, nothing we could understand. After orbiting Gammu for a few minutes, we left without firing a shot.
The AI are definitely on the planet, we can detect their signatures, but I swear they knew we were coming and just decided to turtle up and wait for us to go away. ...Which we did.
As my AI "friend" would have said: "Efficient action, maximised effectiveness, minimised expended resources, success achieved".
I guess that the hostile elements were possibly rogues for even the AI.
Sadly, due to the server event on this weekend, participation was limited to a handful of DTR only.
This means we didn't even have personnel free to field both sides.
I would like to thank those that joined me in full knowledge that we were only going through the motions. We went out there, did some simple RP and made the most of it. I appreciate it.
