Assaulting the Elders Cambridge
Faction Event
OVERVIEW
The Bretonian Armed Forces have valiantly survived multiple external threats in the last decade. Kusari, their push into the Taus and Leeds held fast. Gallia, a pyrrhic victory with the loss of too many lives and an entire planet. Now, Bretonia has a lingering time of peace for it's core worlds, any fighting on the edges of its domain.
The Admiralty has decided to use this interlude to cut costs and revamp itself, mothballing its outdated ships in favour of a modernized strike force. The remnants of the Sterling Fleet, now with the Norfolk Fleet, held the most outdated warships. After a consolidation, the elder vessels will be making their way through Cambridge towards New London and beyond, hopefully for their last voyages, no new wars permitting.
However, internal threats remain. Such a movement of fleet assets had to be planned with the Parliament's knowledge. With civilians brought into the discussion it was only a matter of time before an outside source was informed. The Green Front, the environmentalist party of Bretonia and loose secret sponsor of the Gaians, decided to accelerate the leaking of this information for their own gains. With their voter base founded in Cambridge they were easily able to gather the vital information and send the Gaians details of the operation and fleet movement.
Not wanting to miss this chance, the Gaians scrambled into action to formulate a plan to put a dent in the escorting ships and secure themselves new materials for repairs and ships. With the small window and less than ample warning, the Gaians have opted to call on the Corsairs of Crete for assistance.
The plan was in two parts. The convoy of ships was intended to go from the Norfolk's location, then to Planet Cambridge, and onward to the New London Gate. To funnel the targets into a trap, the trail ends of the convoy was to be cut off and assaulted on the lane. With hope, the remaining Armed Forces escorts will need to divert towards the Portsmouth Shipyard. In a less patrolled route a secondary strike shall occur, it's intentions to disable the ships and swiftly tow them into the nearby fields as their spoils.

Due to lack of interest and firm availability, the event will be postponed until the week or two following and reworked to better match player desires for such an event.
Part one will be changed to a full fleet styled event to better fit the local player's desire to fly capitals, while part two will remain a smaller story-based encounter. Subject to change.
