I'm not a man of refined words, so I'll get straight to the point. Are you alright? You didn't get blown to another part of Sirius, were you? Thought I'd go back with you to New York, but it left me in a whole other world of hurt, so I couldn't confirm whether your "majesty" is alive and well by the time my sorry ass found its way to New York.
I was wondering if you were alright. Seeing your vessel missing from our "formation" after the jump to New York had me worrying about your whereabouts. Our jumpdrive doesn't usually tend to kick ships out during the jump - if the Akhetaten makes it, then all other ships make it as well. As a matter of fact, this is the first instance of that occurrence taking place. I will see to it to have the warship's jumpdrive sufficiently looked at to ensure that this does not happen again.
Needless to point out, me, my crew and the Akhetaten are all back home in one peace, thank you for the concern.
You seemed experienced with the Nomads. Most civilians out in whatever unknown system we were in would panic and cause major issues to every party involved - and yet you didn't. Impressive.
Anything in particular about you the Navy should be aware of? I sincerely hope not.
All that aside, your services to the Akhetaten today are respected.
Good to know you're fine. That means the Navy won't have my head for it - which is good. I don't know what happened with your Jump Drive, to be honest but at least it didn't send me back to that cursed place. Do us both a favor and don't approach anomalies like these again, will you? That thing you're flying must be expensive.
Yeah, don't think of me as someone who "knows" stuff about Nomads. I did what anyone would've done if they wouldn't have had their heads stuck up their asses. I understand they are your people, but teach them to think faster. They kept bickering, panicking (even) in front of the Anomaly while you took your time with those scans.
Something the Navy should be aware of? No. Then again I'm not in the mood to explain why I did what I did. It's not like I expected to get a decent pay from this, no. I almost did it out of kindness. I'll be around to oversee any further incidents. From time to time, at least. Just don't shoot me for it, alright?
I had the Akhetaten approach the anomalies knowing about their risks. I have been involved in a number of 'incidents' with the same anomalies in Kepler. The initial readings we got from the anomaly in the Badlands perfectly matched the readings we already have from Kepler, naturally, I saw that as a chance to peacefully try and gather more intelligence on the anomaly.
The Akhetaten's reactor failed for reasons that are still unknown to us during the process and this is what lead us to lose control. I assure you that I will personally see to it that the reactor is looked upon to understand what went wrong and a method of fixing it will be found. As for 'my people', they are not under my authority, Ego. The only ones under my authority are those that are onboard the Akhetaten, and I believe my conduct towards my crew does not leave anything to be desired.
On a last note, I'll try to not get you shot, Ego, but don't assume this means you can stick your nose wherever you want, whenever you want. I appreciate your actions and your help today, but you're still just a Freelancer, remember that, for your own good perhaps.
I know I'm just a Freelancer. This was a one-time thing I won't repeat anytime soon. Well, haven't done since I first contacted you. I still want to live, you know.
Speaking of. It's been some time, has it? Have you identified what happened with your reactor? Did the logs say anything suspicious? Did you ask the people in the Reactor Room - or however you call it - if anything out of the ordinary happened?
It is none of your business to know what went wrong with the Akhetaten's reactor, but due to the nature of the subject and the context of the discussion I will mention that the reactor was overloaded as a result of the tremendous load that was put on the ship's side-thrusters. There unfortunately is nothing that can be done to mitigate this issue, the reactor will fail again because the Akhetaten's thrusters are not designed to handle such loads.
Your concerns about me and the Akhetaten are touching, Ego. Any specific reason for that, or are you like that with everyone?
I'm concerned for anyone falling into one of these Anomalies. Especially after you-know-what came to visit it with a whole bunch of other friends it brought. Same friends that somehow, someway showed up in Shikoku no earlier than ten minutes. It could be its doing that your Reactor failed.
