Decrypting.... Recipient:Gaians Movement Sender:Kusari Naval Intelligence, Tau wing command Date:01.07.829 Subject:Orkney situation Priority:High
Good day, representatives of the Gaian movement.
Please apologize the sudden nature of this message. While contact between the house Kusari and the Gaians has been sporadic the past years - in full appreciation of the Gaians aid to the Empire in the past -we have not changed our stance towards your movement. We shall proceed to the actual meaning of this communication attempt.
A recent analysis of the Orkney system showed Gallic assets were destroyed under dubious circumstances of an undetermined party, which is potentially posing a threat to the stability of the Tau sectors. Our forces reported a token presence of Gaian vessels near the Stronsay Asteroid Field in the system. Therefore, the Kusari Naval Intelligence would kindly inquiry about the possibility to make use of whatever installation acts as your staging ground into Orkney, solely to monitor the development of the situation and with some luck confirm the responsible party for the destruction of Issoudun Shipyard.
Naturally, all agents would act in a careful manner to avoid revealing the installations location to any third-parties. The Gaian movement will be adequately compensated for this act of friendliness.
Additionally, we also wonder if the Gaians have any information regarding the "who" and "how" of the massive, seemingly rapid onslaught on Gallia's presence within Orkney.
It is a surprise to receive a message from the Empire, seeing as it has been so long. It is all too often such only comes when there is a want, not an actual formality or a sharing of comrodery. This said, the situation is dire enough I'm authorized to explain some of the situation.
Roughly five months ago a major nomadic incursion occured throughout the Taus originating from the likely source of the Omicrons. Once entering Orkney major Gallic infrastructure was damaged or destroyed, mainly tradelanes and the infamous drydock. Fort Albi, occupied by the Bounty Hunters Guild, was found to have been evacuated and abandoned. The following month resulted in attempts to contain the situation by the Bretonian Armed Forces and less than helpful attempts from the Gallic Union.
It was deemed a lost cause to control the situation, so the local governing bodies opted to seal the gates to assist in a containment procedure. Additional parties have come in to assist in the containment, and even our cells assist in these efforts.
It should be noted that the major mass of the alien presence has shifted location to some unknown position, possibly seeking a foothold in the region. Armed joint investigations have scouted major nomadic strike forces still assaulting what remains in Orkney.
With release of this information, I must remind you that for the time being the public hasn't been formally informed of this threat to not cause a panic. We suggest you keep such in mind when it comes to your own empire's media.
As to use of installations or ports of call. The first question is to ask why you assume we have anything that far towards Gallia. Just because we operate in the area does not mean we have any stations. This is also assuming we would allow a foreign naval intelligence simple use our ports. Our closest public installation, Fort Monach, currently is in the process of refitting and exists to overwatch Planet Gaia, with strict no docking policy in place. Our presence in Edinburgh is close enough for our patrols to move towards Orkney when our cells add to those efforts.
The second question is why we would allow such with no gain. We lose quite a lot to reveal how our cells operate, and the ones asking are those who we have supported in the past, not who have supported us. Perhaps think on this situation when you reply, if you choose to do so.

Good day, Ward.
It appears our methodical approach was successful. The delivered details are most satisfactory.
Please do not worry about potential chaos created by Kusari media outlets finding out about this, I would rather worry about Gallic media doing so.
We will monitor the situation through more conventional means instead. Tell your people not to be surprised about a Kusari warship appearing within Stronsay.
Let us put the Orkney havoc aside and talk about the Gaians. We are well aware that the Gallics caused unbelievable destruction on Gaia's surface and data harvested from Bretonians indicates that the Gaians do rather well, given the introduction of new vessels to your rosters. Yet we are curious, is there anything the Gaian movement might require - especially raw material related - aid with?
A final note on the Orkney Situation. Should there be instances where assistance is needed against these xeno threats, you can call upon us and we will do as we can. This includes Gauls anywhere within the Taus. They have done enough damage to Bretonia and Sirius as a whole, we have no need of them to do more.
As for what you could possibly do for us. As I doubt "our Planet Leeds back" is an obtainable request, it entirely depends on what you seek to gain from such a guesture. We always accept donations of credits, supplies for ship and station maintenance, and of course medicine, food, water, and oxygen. If there is something in specific you have in mind, speak your thoughts. I do not do well with beating around the bush and political sly moves. I leave that to the lords and ladies with canes up their rears and too much posh reliance.

Ward.
We appreciate the offer and extend it to include our own readiness to respond to Nomad activity detected by your vessels. Gallic vessels are not to be spared to begin with, as you said yourself.
Regarding the shipments, while we send this message, a few shipments of basic supplies are already being prepared. Additionally, you might be able to solve an issue here. A few weeks ago, a State Police investigation led to an illegal "Zoo" of sorts, operated by a shady businessman with apparent ties to Liberty's underworld. Among the animals held captive were several species only found on Planet Gaia. A team of veterinarian and members of the Kanto University of Zoology, New Tokyo, were taking care of them. However, due to the barely researched nature of Planet Gaia, it would be best to return them back to their home world as soon as possible.
A specialized transport will soon be en route to Planet Gaia. We hope that the Gaians have the abilities we lack and can ensure a safe and sound reintegration into their natural habitats.
A strange situation indeed. As for the shipments, both of supplies and the mentioned wildlife, we are able to meet your transports halfway. Otherwise, our vessels will meet you in orbit of Planet Gaia for transfer and we can take it from there. We appreciate the thought.
I forgot to mention. During the initial surveys of Orkney post-nomadic incursion, a previously undiscovered jumphole was charted. Brief scans found it stable, however the system beyond was and is unknown to us. It appears to be one of the many overlooked systems in the Tau cluster. An officer on the expedition noted its similarities to the Newcastle system, however no exploration took place due to the high risk. The nomadic threat is too great to do a full survey of this system, or understand the significance of the jumphole's appearance now of all times.

Our transport is currently passing through the Tau sector and will meet up with your forces near Planet Gaia. The modified vessel is capable of long-term stealth operations, meaning they possess a relative flexible timeframe for this operation. The callsign is "Obuzaba".
Regarding the jumphole, the Tau cluster is mostly undiscovered due to a shift in nature among the houses. Expeditions into systems without prior probes confirming rich sources of economically viable materials, are often left without any attention. This might be one of this star systems. If you are willing to share its location, we might organize an expeditionary force spearheaded by drones.
The feed flickers on to show Annora with her arms folded and her brow deeply furrowed.
While the Trodaiche squadron may be one of the more organized Gaian cells in our current climate, they are far from the majority opinion.
She grits her teeth and throws down a fist to her side.
Need I remind all of you the various crimes of the Kusari Empire? Not in the least that they are an expansionist and imperialist force to rival the Gallic Royalists, have you all forgotten the eradication of Junyo's native ecosystem? The exploitation of Planet Kurile, used as a tool to facilitate the former? Samura's conversion of Kyushu to a monoculture of rice? Honshu's limitless industrialization in search of faster electronics? The terraforming of Planet Miura? Tomioka?
She scowls and shakes her head from side to side.
Kusari cannot be trusted. And they most certainly cannot be trusted near Gaia. They do not have our best interests at heart, and they will use us as pawns in their hungry expansion across Sirius. If I should happen to see a single Kusari Intelligence transport near Gaia, I will destroy it myself, the lives of some several hundred wildlife be damned.
If you want to return Gaia's wildlife, then arrange a meeting in Tau-31, or some other middle location. But do not approach Gaia. Not if you value your lives.
Understood. Our patrol will meet you and conduct the transfer. On the other subject, I see no reason to delve more into those details until the nomadic threat is contained.
To the old husk that hopped on this channel.
Go back to the ditch you've just crawled out of. While it is entertaining to watch the cockroaches crawl out of your mouth when you speak and the cobwebs stretch as your unused jaw slacks open, there's an actual cause to see to than the old guard pissing filth and being utterly useless to the movement as a whole. The day you actually contribute to bettering our house than soiling yourself at every little problem everyone else has, I'll spare an ear to your complaints. Until then, piss off.
The audacity to think we don't know what they will try to do. Small minded, simpleton, idiotic. No wonder we suffered when your cell was active.
The feed comes back on to show Annora laughing vigorously.
I don't think you were in the movement when my cells were active. And the fact that you have nothing to respond to my criticism with but posturing doesn't bode well for you, or your cell.
If you have a valid criticism, apart from a perceived lack of activity, then I would like to hear it. Otherwise, I have made my stance clear. If I see the Kusari Naval Intelligence in Edinburgh, the transport will be destroyed.
She leans in a bit closer to the camera with her brow raised.
