My name is Karen Grey, current Commanding Officer for the Barra Crossroads garrison, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Defense.
It has come to our attention that you have elected to deploy a modular space station within the eastern sectors of Tau-31, space belonging to the Republic. My superiors want to know the purpose of your station, as well as why your intention to build within Crayter space was not announced via this channel.
The Ministry of Defense has authorized 48 hours for you to respond to this transmission. Depending on your response, a fine may be levied as per Article IV, Section II of the Laws of Crayter.
If this message does not receive a response within that time, the Ministry will likely deem the station abandoned and order its deconstruction. It's my hope that this won't be the case.
From:Germain Delville To:Commodore Karen Grey, Crayter Military Subject:Saint Leu Production Facility
Esteemed Commodore Karen Grey,
I am Germain Delville, owner of Saint Leu Production Facility.
I apologize for having deployed such a modular installation on such short notice and without any authorisation. Indeed, with the fuzz that had been going on in the Taus lately, it was hard to determine who was responsible for the protection of such space.
Saint Leu Production Facility is a base that was deployed primarily as a scientific outpost. The objective is to analyse the recurring anomalies in Tau-23 system. To finance such project, the goal will also be to profit off of the Niobium Ore market.
The situation being as it is, I estimated that Tau-31 was the closest and safest system to settle in.
Although I deployed the base without any notice, I never intended it to be a threat to anyone: there are no defence system deployed, and the docking access are not subject to any identification whatsoever.
Lex dura sed lex, as they say. I accept any fine, and will proceed with the administrative registration to have this base respecting Crayterian laws.
I'm pleased to see your response, and that the station was not simply a one off.
The Ministry of Defense has already reviewed your message, and has elected to trust you at your word. You will, of course, still be required to register your station within the appropriate channel, as well as pay the required funds for rent of Crayter space. In lieu of a fine, the Ministry has decided that the secondary payment for this registration be submitted within two weeks of the application, as opposed to the standard one month timeframe.
Once these steps are taken, you and your station will be free to conduct business freely so long as Crayter law is abided by.
