Overcoming cardamine addiction?

Can you overcome a cardamine addiction? Like is that a thing you can do?

I'd assume it is, like with just about any drug, but from what I've seen of it in vanilla, with how the LH in particular seem to run it through their bases' vents, it feels like it's near impossible.

Obviously I'd love to see explanations but I'm putting a poll up for a quick consensus gauge for people who might have the same question later.

No. It changes your genetics to the point that you need it to live, like air and water. That much is unambiguous.

Now how much cardamine exposure you need to get to that point isn't quite as clear. Some people say a single dose is enough, others say that it happens over a period of regular use.
But once you are a user, there's no going back.

I forgot about the detail I'd read with the genetics when I skimmed the vanilla wiki. That makes it a lot harder to write around for what I'm intending to just be a simpler character.

No, a cardamine addiction is a permanent affliction that cannot be circumvented. Withholding doses leads to illness and then ultimately death in a short span of time and the experience is described as being less than pleasant. Addicts to the extent of the Hackers will tell you that it's more than a drug and a way of life instead, one they embrace willingly given the benefits associated with prolonged consumption of high doses. Regular humans can never equate to an Outcast however, but the increased benefits the Outcasts have come at a steep price of needing to regularly go back to Malta in order to avoid fatal withdrawal.

stabiline keeps you alive but the "cure" is more expensive than cardamine

i dont know if it's been specified if few, or even single doses result in permanent dependence
