A Look Back On The 820s
NEW LONDON -As preparations are well underway for the New Year's celebrations in the Kingdom's capital, many remain hopeful for the coming years. In this article, the BBC will cover importanța events of the 820s -- a decade filled with turmoil both abroad and at home, and one that has left Sirius scarred.
Moving forward with the prospects of a rebuilt and more united Bretonia, citizens and politicians alike have united on this day in the capital to celebrate the entry into the new decade. From officers in the military, to miners, and top figures in the government, all share one desire -- to help bring Bretonia back on the colonial stage of Sirius.
Kusari -- from enemies to partners -Though by the start of the decade hostilities had ceased, the damage dealt by Kusari's invasion was taken advantage of by forces of the newly-discovered Gallia. Fighting side-by-side with Bretonia's fleets, the Emperor of Kusari made great efforts to return to the House, but failed to deter the Gallic Royal Navy from further advancing. While His Majesty perished in 822 AS, his task of returning Kusari as an Empire was passed on to the loyalists in the exiled units.
Kusari was engulfed in a civil war that lasted for several more years, but ended with an agreement between both sides that brought back the emperor -- thus marking the start of a new era for the colony. In the years that came by, Kusari underwent significant militarization that culminated with a bloody, but brief, invasion of Gallia, in 827 AS. By some considered a grand success and by others a resounding failure, it led to the complete isolation of Gallia by a blockade imposed upon it in 828 AS.
The Crown of Bretonia has also expanded cooperation with Kusari's corporations with the reaching of a deal over Planet Harris -- aiming to consolidate both Bretonia's presence in Tau-31 but also to provide a sizeable amount of profit once operations were initiated. As the agreement has been reached not only with Kusari, but also with the Crayter Republic, work on Harris is well underway already -- a sign of the close ties between Yuma and New London.
Omegas' future more uncertain than ever -Bretonia's eastern border, with the Omegas and Rheinland, has remained a point of tension throughout the 820s and is unlikely to change in times to come.
Nevertheless, Rheinland - Bretonian relations remain at a stable level. The past decade debuted with conflict over Atka for New Berlin's government -- causing large-scale devastation in the bordering regions and ending with an armistice that only further deteriorated the situation. With recent moves by both sides in the Hudson system, the armistice now comes once more under the attention of Sirius, serving as a potential spark for another border conflict between the two rivalling Houses.
Bretonia has reached a consensus over several agreements with Rheinland, however these remain just as questionable as the treaty that ended Liberty's conflict over Atka. As both colonies look to rebuild lost bases and recover much of the profit directed to the state-controlled groups, conflict over the Omegas has thus far been avoided, but it is unknown for how much longer such a situation can be tolerated.
The Liberty question -The 820s brought forth new challenges, new alliances, and new opportunities for all Colonies to face. Bretonia's largest contributor to the defence against Gallia was Liberty, as both the Kingdom and the Republic worked hand-in-hand to repel the invaders from the new region of Sirius. While costly, and even spilling into Liberty itself, the war with Gallia shaped the formation of a united front -- that of Liberty and Bretonia -- against the other nations of the sector, marking a new foreign policy that lasted for several years.
As the end of the decade inched closer, Liberty moved to crush their internal rebellion and with it bringing a swift and bloody end to the Insurgency. Classifying it as a mission to restore greater freedom to the independent regions of the borderworlds between Bretonia and Liberty, the Navy campaigned and removed military and civilian resistance alike, leading to concerns in all Houses that this was but a stepping stone for other coming events. In addition, on the diplomatic front, relations between the Crown and Manhattan soured after the Treaty of Harris was broken by the latter, resulting in economic uncertainty and prompting Bretonia to open up Planet Harris to Kusari and Crayter.
The 830s arrive with a looming question for the Kingdom's top officials -- is cooperation with Liberty truly worth the cost?
The story of Leeds -The largest's loss of life ever documented in humanity's history, the Glassing of Leeds remains as the most critical point in Bretonia's history ever since the arrival in Sirius. Carried out in a brutal bombardment of all planetside life, it ended the lives of both Bretonian and foreign citizens, bringing down with it the Kingdom's largest industrial centre.
The Gallic Royal Navy's arrival into the Realm marked the beginning of great sorrow, despair, and the initiation of a battle for survival. Even as the Allies have secured a final victory, the cost pales in comparison to the loss of human lives on Leeds. And, with no such other industrial powerhouses anywhere else in the sector, the Crown has limited time to decide on other projects of a similar magnitude in the territory it controls. For the present, one matter is certain -- that the 830s will bring many positive changes.

Mark my words: 831 A.S. - Glassing of New London. We are doomed and the Queen knows it will happen! She will feed us to our enemies just like with Leeds.
The rebuilding of Bretonia took place with immense help from DSE|-. Bretonia repaid the DSE|- for its commitment and dedication to Bretonia by destroying, illegally I might add, DSE|'s HQ Old Trafford, and destroying a valuable asset Planet Leeds S&R.
The Bretonian leadership on the whole were kept "in the dark" with BAF unilaterally deciding to attack assets by a loyal ally - only two people in the Bretonian Government decided this. They have no proof to what appears to be a "false flag" attack on a Libertarian Corporation.
Requests have been made for information and evidence, but you guessed it. They refuse to hand over any evidence to support their actions and instead have resorted to lies and exaggerations to cover their very smelly large "black holes".
There actions are abhorrent and despicable and no one from Bretonia officialdom has the guts to admit they are wrong.
