I guess I shouldn't be surprised. When the son of your disowned sister comes back looking for work, the first thing you do is throw him out on his ear. I didn't hang around Kyushu long and wound up heading out into the Sigmas. I stopped off in Sigma-13 but when Newport and Madrid both had no work for someone with my ship type, I decided I'd point my ship back in the direction of the Omicrons.
Need to find someone to adjust my new implants. Been getting some headaches since the procedure. Probably just an adjustment period, but I should probably get it checked out. Heading through Sigma-21 now into Sigma-15. I'll log more later. Hopefully next time I'll have something more to report than just logs of me flying everywhere...it's been really quiet lately, after all.
I arrived in Omicron Delta and landed at Freeport 11. I'm looking to change my load-out a bit on my ship. Having some issues with power and a couple of the prototype weaponry is causing me some problems. Spoke with a guy named "The Monarch"...a bit of a narcissistic name for a ship if you ask me, but he had a load-out similar to mine and he gave me some good advice concerning how mine is configured. He told me the weapons I had on board were far too power hungry for my ships frame and recommended "Scythe MKII's" from the local Freeport. However, the Zoners onboard said they don't know me well enough to be selling me that technology and wanted me to prove myself against some of the pests in system. Namely the Nomads.
I've been running some missions from the mission board since. I only had to turn and run once due to Gunboats or Cruisers showing up but for the most part I've been cleaning up. Been earning some scratch to boot doing these missions. The local Zoners are impressed with my work and have told me that they're willing to give me some of the weapons for my hard work as soon as they have more in stock. In the meantime, I'm going to have me a few drinks at the bar, killing aliens is hard work and I'm craving an easy night.

It's been a while since I last updated this thing...I guess I might as well do so now.
My adventures in Delta got scary fast. I was always busy helping the Zoners clean up the Nomads when a big Nomad appeared in front of me. I didn't even have the time to take scans, photos, or anything, I just got the hell out of dodge fast. It showed me things I'd rather not repeat...it forced it's way into my mind even as I ran. I nearly passed out from the pain but somehow made it to Omicron Minor.
I hid away on a Junker outpost for a few days nursing my wounds and trying to get my head on straight. I left from there and quickly flew through Order and Outcast space before finding myself back at the markets of Canberra Star City in Tau-44. This place has been my home away from home many times now and felt I might as well buy some space on the station to hang out.
My head still hurts all these weeks later from that mental intrusion so I'm still don't have my space legs back, but I'm hoping I will soon. I'm looking to get a freighter or small transport of some kind to maybe run some cargo soon...the ZBT isn't doing so hot, so maybe I'll finally pick up a new ship after all these months. I don't know. I need more sleep...maybe tomorrow I'll see what shakes loose.
I couldn't sleep so I decided to fly over to Tau-23 to look around a bit...it had been a while since I stopped by the Silent Man and there were a few folks there I wanted to catch up with.
Soon as I came through into the system, I nearly got obliterated by a floating wreck that was moving past the jump hole. Quickly, channeling my inner Junker, I moved to tractor the wreck and slow it's momentum enough to take a look at what had almost killed me. To my utter surprise, it was a Luxury Yacht; a Reagent class I think they're called. I towed it back over to the Silent Man to take a look at what had nearly killed me.
Boarding the ship, I found the pilot dead in his seat, riddled with holes from various angles. He wore an Order uniform, oddly enough. He had no identifying markers on his body, so I wasn't able to identify him...probably the point considering his providence. I combed through what remained of the systems and found some logs and some recordings of other pilots. Clearly this ship had been repurposed as a stealth vessel capable of staying invisible for long periods of time, listening in on their enemies.
Clever.
I carried the body of the Order agent over to the airlock and checked the rest of the ship. It appeared the ship had been stripped of anything and everything that could be considered luxurious. Normally, these ships were top of the line with cutting edge technology and beautiful rooms and everything gaudy...however this ship appeared to have been stripped down to the bulkheads to make room for...something.
The stealth technology appeared to be intact but it's space requirements, not to mention it's power requirements, were ludicrous. Utilizing this Yacht as anything more than a stealth ship was simply out of the question. I disconnected the stealth system and placed it aside for the time being, intending to sell it to someone on the open market, no doubt someone would be looking for one of these.
Lastly, a smaller ship was moored to the bottom of the ship. Again, I was surprised to find an Obsidian VHF fully kitted out and ready to go. Seems the Order agent wasn't able to get to the ship to escape his demise...and here I was just saying how I need to replace my ZBT. Funny how that works. The ship seemed more or less in one piece with little damage from the fight that destroyed the Yacht.
The rest of the ship didn't wow me. It was missing weapons systems as well as upgraded shields and thrusters. The engines were bonafide Order technology though, something which I intended on keeping. Salvage rights and all that. I'm going to work on restoring the ship. It's holed in a number of places and it's power plant was absolutely shredded by weapons fire and was only operating at around 5% of it's peak. I'm hoping I'll be able to get it back to 100% in due time and use the ship for...something. Maybe I can run a freelance luxury cruise?
The man on the recording chuckles.
Nah, I don't think so. That isn't my cup of tea. Maybe I could use it as a smuggling transport or I could reconnect the stealth system to use as a way to get across Sirius while being out of sight of others. Eh...I've got some time to think about what I want to use it for. It's going to be out of commission for at least two weeks.
At least I have a project now. Better than nothing I guess.
While working on the NX-Nightingale (the name I gave the ship), I managed to break my hand. Fuck. Looks like I'll be out of commission for a few weeks. The upside is the stealth ship is more or less ready to go. I decided against using it as a smuggling vessel as it just doesn't have the capabilities for that (with exception to maybe two countermeasure mounts).
Looks like I'll be getting some bedrest for a few weeks...oh well.

//broke my hand IRL. Won't be around for a few weeks while it heals.
With the discovery of the Nightingale in Tau-23, it sort of spun me down a strange path. As I was working on it in 44, an individual named "Mordecai" approached me offering resources on repairing the ship as well as able bodied people to assist. Naturally, with my busted up hand, I could use all the help I could get so I accepted. Within a few days, the ship was flight ready. They even offered medical help to get my hand some attention. After all was finished, they offered me a position within their organization. I don't know how much I can say here in this log, so I'll leave out the specifics. Suffice it to say, I've got a new home...for now.
I've stripped most everything Order related out of the ship with exception to the engines that're still powering the thrust and the recordings the pilot made on his last flight before the ship was destroyed. The rest of the Order items I destroyed as I was sure they wouldn't want that info getting out.
I still have the old pilots remains and have orders from Mordecai to reach out to the Order fleet to ensure the pilot has a proper burial. While I do that, I plan to request assistance with installing more powerful listening equipment onboard for better recording capabilities as well as heavily modifying the ship for further advancements into stealth tech and other listening capabilities. Hopefully they're amenable to helping me out.
Planning on writing that communication soon but I'm not sure how they will respond to me taking command of one of their ships even if it was by salvage rights. Guess I'll find out soon. Going to get some sleep first.
