Gallic Union Suffers Defeat In Taus
PLANET HARRIS -With the Crown's forces, as well as Crayter's own, now returning to Tau-31 after a bloody siege of a border fortress of the Gallic Union, higher ranking officers scramble to celebrate the victory over the Kingdom's northern neighbor and the establishment of an even tigher-controlled blockade.
The total duration of the military operation, while having lasted only a week, has caused significant casualties on either side, most notably amongst the participating units of the 1st Command Fleet. As the event is already being greatly honored across the Armed Forces, government officials have refrained from releasing statements related to the unfolding offensive action in the border worlds, instead signaling that any celebration may be cut short by news of casualties.
What does this event change for Bretonia? -Though the blockade imposed in 827 AS by the Kingdom of Bretonia, the Empire of Kusari and the Republic of Crayter upon the newly-formed Gallic state was subject to initial success, it quickly became clear that any major attempt to cut trade and rout blockade runners would have to involve significant deployments to destroy the remaining Gallic Navy installations in the region. While two prior attempts were made, they were unsuccessful at causing long-lasting damage, but achieved a tactical victory by drawing Union forces away from Issoudun, which fell against Nomad-aligned cells still active in the Taus.
As Fort de Bregancon, the main base of operations for the Gallic Navy, has finally been destroyed in a concerted effort done by both Crayter and Bretonian fleets, the reach of the Union has been cut dead in its tracks by the bold moves of the Royal Bretonian Navy. Nevertheless, in doing these rapid breakthroughs, many of best trained and equipped fell in battle, supporting the first assaults against dug-in forces.
Uncertain future for the Taus -In addition to putting an end to Gallic influence in Sirius and further helping in enforcing the strict sanctions imposed upon the Union, the victory also marks the start of a new 'Cold War' between Kusari and Bretonia -- both looking towards the vast riches of Tau-23 as the next logical step to undertake in the Taus.
Direct conflict remains out of the question as neither side is capable of funding a long war, but, as shown in recent months by the disappearance of several warships of Bretonian and Kusari origin, border clashes similar to those unfolding against the Gallic Union may begin to be a daily occurrence. Still, officials have thus far assured citizens of both Great Houses that 'the strong partnership between the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Empire of Kusari will continue'.

Are we at war with Gallia again? Why isn't that on the news? Milk costs twice as much as last year, who's reporting about that? Why is the BBC cheering when the Nomads, the bloody NOMADS destroyed a station? And when are panautoheteroacropolisdodecahedronretsinafeta-sexual people finally going to be allowed a pride parade? #rememberfp7 #panautoheteroacropolisdodecahedronretsinafetasexual

I read somewhere there were loads of children and you people love and celebrate executing them. Well, that's all fine by me - maybe you can look into that annoying bitch of my stepdaughter Sheila so I can finally have some alone time with my wife!
Splendid news. This is the only way they understand. Their immeasurable crime against humanity shall not be forgotten or forgiven. They deserve no foothold in Sirian territory at all, they're equal to the Nomads.
No wonder the Bretonians failed their beachhead in Vespucci. They were too busy trying to spark yet another war in the Taus. What is this, number three?
Maybe this time, they won't lose billions of people to their own hubris.

The more Gauls you kill the less be left to make any further atrocities. Make them pay with blood for Leeds and other crimes, and keep doing the good work, we, people of the Bretonian Kingdom, provide our utmost approval and support.
The Crown and the Gauls are at it again everybody. And now the Kusarians want to get involved.
I suppose it would be too bloody much to ask for Her Majesties scum in parliament to actually do something about BMM creating the next Leeds on Sprague, when it's far easier to get into a war over the Taus with the other houses over space already claimed and settled by others and use the blind patriotism of fools to secure their re-election.
