As the message opened a simple line ran across the screen... moments later a voice began to speak over the speakers. The line moved up and down following the male voice's tone.
"Greetings Rheinland Admiral, You came across my mentor with questions about my past, he said you wanted to talk to me. I can't say I know why a house admiral would bother looking to someone like me, but I don't pay much attention to what the houses do anymore. I'd hope you'd forgive me for send this message to you over comms rather then in person. You had question about this Noah person, I can't say I encountered anyone on my mother's ship. But"
The voice became quite followed by a whisper. "No... that was not his name."
Another moment of silence followed, before the voice continued. "If you feel the need to reply just followed the reply signal and it will get back to me. Eddy out..."
The line blinks out along with the message, leaving behind only a reply code.

Gunter, finishing his administrative duties and about to go to bed in his cabin, turns around. Hearing the voice speaking on his computer makes him return to his chair. After pondering a bit on the message, he decides to reply.
"Danke für contacting me, Eddy. I was awaiting your message since my conversation with Agent A. I am eager to hear what you have to say. Can you elaborate what you mean with "that was not his name?" Any info could be of help."
He leans back in his chair and mumbles to himself. "The rabbit hole goes deeper."

"You must understand admiral that this hits rather close to home for me. You might imagine how unnerving it might be to find out that someone who you loved and respected turned out to be someone else. As things are now I have been insisted upon by others to assist you." There was a moment of pause. "my father Werner Otto was... or so claimed to be, a Rhineland transport captain. While I believed this to be the truth, and still do, my father always seemed to avoid the topic of his past when ever I was present. I must inform you that he and my mother died when the Gambit was destroyed, this led me on the path which I now walk."
"Yet... before the Gambit was destroyed I received one final message from my father. A encoded data codex, that no one, not even the techs in the order could manage to open. I have transmitted it in this recording, if the possibility runs true that my father was in truth this Noah person then I suppose you might be able to open it. I trust you will transmit back your findings should you be able to open it. I rather not my return to the nation of my ancestry be one of hostile intent. Eddy out."
The line blinks out along with the message, leaving behind only a reply code and a data codex. Upon opening the file a line appears on the screen with a small blinking horizonal line at the top, the file requires a password.

Gunter listens to the message, ending with the encrypted data codex. He was baffled. Why would his father hide his real identity from his son? Was it to protect him?
"I understand this must be a shock to you and I must admit I don't know why he would hide his identity Agent Eddy, but I'm gonna find out and I will contact you if- no... when I find out.
Also I will look for a way to open the Codex you sent me. I doubt my Military Decryptors will fare any better than the one's of the Order, but here goes nothing."
"You should also know that your gr-" No... It was not the right time for that now. He changed subject. "I'll contact you later, Agent Eddy. Auf Wiedersehen for now."
He sighed in his chair, stood up and left his office. "The Decryptors better be miracle workers tomorrow."

Returning to his chair, Gunter thought about how to relay all the unfolded events to Eddy. A part of his message is considered good news, the other part however, is not.
"Hello Eddy, it's been a while. I have a lot of news for you. I've been pondering how to relay the message, but I guess I will just tell it to you the way it is."
He sighed. "I found your grandfather. Yes, he is still alive and was valiantly searching with his ship, the Freya, for the lost wreck of his son, your father that is. I convinced him to decrypt the codex. I will attach it to this message. Be warned however, this codex will probably shock you as much as it did to your grandfather."
Gunter transfers the data of both his conversation with Peter Müller and the decrypted codex.
Entry 1.
Father, if you are reading this then I am more than likely dead, I'm sorry for leaving you alone in this universe, and for forcing you to bury a son. The following will be a more personal recount of my life on this ship. As to my more professional reports in the last encrypted portion of the codex. I know Command does not have time for the sob story of one commander.
Our gunship was brought down by a pirate cruiser some time ago, it is only recently that I have been given a terminal to create these entities. As of now, I am in relative comfort for a pirate prisoner. The ship’s captain has taken a fancy to me and is the reason as to why I am enjoying such confort now. I am, scared father, being at the mercy of another without the protection of rheinland steel and weapons separating you from them. The ship’s captain has indicated she wants more from me than just my company. I must admit that I am afraid of being used by another human being for their own personal pleasure. I have hidden my true name from then so they might use it against you father while you are making your own plans to rescue me. I will endure and try to get away as soon as I can, I know you must be doing everything you can on your side.

It is as I feared father, the ship's captain has taken me to her bed. While pleasurable in the moment I feel violated once the pleasure has washed away. The crew of the pirate ship has quickly taken to mocking me whenever I pass by. I will not give them the courtesy of repeating their words here but I imagine you might know what scum like them would say. But I will endure father… please come quickly…
Entry 3
The ship’s captain, Mira Narson is her name, and has become kinder to me. Perhaps after our time together she has begun developing feelings for me past the lustful stage. She no longer tolerates any negative comments directed towards me. She killed one of her crew for suggesting that she was going soft. Since then she has moved me into her own personal quarters and I have been given some more access to the ship, but I am always under guard. Hopefully I may be able to gain more trust and make it off this ship. Eh, I don’t think mom would have approved of Mira…

This was not how this was supposed to turn out. Getting a grandchild from a pirate who forced herself upon your son. I’m sorry father, after all you’ve done for me I would repay you with this… in a twisted way a part of me is happy to have a son of my own… more than likely it is the parental instincts kicking in when discipline is lax. But I am still your son, and unwed son or not I am still a proud son of Rheinland and I will raise him to standards better than these pirates could ever muster. Mira has named him Eddy after a fictional character from the days of Earth, he has also taken his mother’s surname, and she has been pressuring me to change my fake surname to match. As I am keeping up a fake name I have resisted her purssastions… I can only hope that this mask does not become what it is ment to hide.

Eddy is five now… already he is formulating some words in Liberty common and Rheinlander. I am proud… despite everything. My son loves his father and mother, and all I can return are lies. At first it was easy to fake my love for Mira and Eddy. Day by day the mask I present becomes more and more real. I have not given my true name to them, but this mask digs into my skin. I have almost forgotten to look for ways of escape. Father please come quickly, less I become Werner Otto.

*the sounds of yelling crewmembers and explosions eco in the background.*
“Father,” Noah's voice came through, it was disparate in tone and out of breath. “Aliens are attacking the Gambit, the ship is dead in space and they are not letting up the attack. We are trying to ovulate but most of the ship is venting space. Mira,” He paused for a moment. “She is dead, the Alien bomber managed to hit the bridge, no one survived. I know not where Eddy is but I can only pray that he makes it to an escape pod.”
*Another explosion came through.*
“Damn it!” Noah roared. “Come on!”
His strained voice followed as if he was trying to move something.
“It's no good. I’m… stuck.” Noah's breathing slowed. “Father… Eddy. It looks like this is it. I am sending my codex to you Eddy. If you are listening to this you know that I am not who I said I was for all this time. But know that while I faked my love for you… I regret it now, I love you truly and I am proud of the man you are turning out to be. Father, I love you and I am sorry for failing you.”

"Apologies for the delay Admiral, I needed some time to prosses as well as get Orders from Command. I will fly to Freeport 11 alone to meet with you and my grand father. Some of Order fighters might join me when I make the trip but I'm not sure. Freeport 11 is in Omicron Delta and thus very near to the local Core planet. I will warn you that they may interfere with our meeting, they have been known to violate the NO Fire Zone of Freeport 11. Until then Admiral..."
