DUBLIN - It is Thursday, the 24th of August - 830 A.S, and just during daylight time, a clash happened at the gold mining field which resulted in the death of Captain Mike Taylor. Another victim and another dead body while the reason is always, gold. This time, a fighting squad of what appears to be, three mollies, attack the Bretonian miner without a warning and killed him. Captain Mike Taylor was a Bretonia Mining and Fabrication employee who served the realm for 14 years. He had three children, two boys and a girl in their early middle school years. Captain Mike was one of the unique employees of Her Majesty the Queen's fleet of Dublin miners. The royal palace decided to give Captain Mike's family a sum of 7,000,000 million Sirian credits and fully paid school fees for his three children. Her Majesty the Queen said, "The world has seen so few of those loyal employees and they shall be rewarded graciously for their service to the realm". She also added that those who did this crime would be punished without mercy.
The NBC camera has cruised among the civilians on Graves Station and Planet New London, asking around and checking the civilian's responses. While at the central London subway, I met with Miss Evangeline Johanson. I asked her about how she felt and she replied, "I am actually shocked and in utter sadness because of the repetitive crimes happening in our part of the universe, just for that shiny expensive matter which people name gold. I am 67 of my age, and I have seen much of the world already. It is such a catastrophe that our law enforcers are not done with those unlawful criminal organizations til now. I think they should be removed from existence and get destroyed to the last one miserable criminal of them". She was angry and sad about the incident. We caught some of her tears trying to fall from her eyes but she was holding hard. The death of Captain Mike Taylor affected the people very much and everyone is imagining that one of their relatives will be the next one.
BRETONIASECRETIINTELLIGENCE - Since the Dublin system is outside the jurisdiction of the Bretonia Police Authority, so the Bretonia Armed Forces and the Bretonia Secret Service are mainly responsible for maintaining peace, law and order. The NBC camera paid a visit to the SIS office at Planet New London. Several questions were directed towards one of the available agents, I asked Agent Richard Holmes from the SIS Intelligence officers about the possible fix for this situation and how the government sees the Dublin situation. We understand that this system must be brought back under the full control of the Bretonia Police Authority and added back to the realm of official house space, but the political matters are taking too much time lately".
The terrorist organization of the Mollies is doing great damage to the Bretonian flow of merchants at the Dublin system. This directly affects the kingdom's main economy cursor and this is something that angers the government and the royal family. The Mollies are labelled as a terrorist organization by the Kingdom of Bretonia laws but they do not consider themselves as terrorists. They believe that the Dublin mining fields are one of their properties and that the Bretonian corporations are stealing their gold. The Mollies' ideology is based on liberating and capturing the Dublin system, after kicking out all the Bretonian corporations from the system.
BRETONIAMINING&FABRICATION - We moved swiftly after, and left Planet New London. The NBC camera landed at the Isle of Skye, which is the headquarters of Bretonia Mining and Fabrication. The BMF is a large Bretonian corporation, partially owned by the Crown. We found the station raising black banners and a large picture banner for Captain Mike Taylor at the large lobby and reception of the installation. The picture shown is for Captain Mike Taylor in full mining advanced uniform. We meet with Sir Steve Malmsteen, one of the Bretonian Barons and the Vice President of Bretonia Mining and Fabrication. He welcomed us to the BMF headquarters and agreed to answer all our questions.
Sir Steve Malmsteen commented on the death of Captain Taylor saying that he was one of the most intelligent employees of the corporation and that the BMF will never forget his great work or forgive his killers. The BMF corporation has allocated 15,000,000 Sirian credits for Captain Taylor's family. He was also awarded the Medal of bravery and Honor. He spent years and years giving the realm his time effort and hard work. and thus, we shall never forget him. A reward of 25,000,000 Sirian credits will be instantly added to Captain Taylor's bank account for his family to spend from its monthly benefits.
MOLLYSAGENDA - The Dublin system has been a hotspot of Bretonian industry for decades, mining huge amounts of gold from the asteroids that inhabit the system has made BMM/BMF untold riches. However, the current situation, where BMM/BMF merely controls Graves Station and the field it sits in is far from the dream that industrialists had for Dublin. Discovered between 743 A.S. and 745 A.S., the Goldfields in Dublin triggered a gold rush akin to the ones on Earth. People from all over Bretonia, and further, came scrambling to the system, hoping to literally carve out their own fortune from the hoards of rocks in the system. BMM/BMF took center stage in the rush, establishing Graves Station as their primary base in the system and starting mining operations almost immediately.
Workers were initially paid fair wages but as the sheer number of potential workers increased dramatically as the rush picked up pace, their wages and work conditions were cut dramatically. Workers who had traversed the length of Bretonia to get to this fabled golden system found little to no work and were typically stuck in the system, without enough credits to buy their way home. BMM/BMF exploited this to great effect, mistreating workers as simple menial labor and paying them a pittance for doing so. The work was dangerous and safety was a rare luxury. Most had no choice but to work for BMM/BMF, regardless of the conditions. This changed on one fateful day.
The Founders Day Revolt in 752 AS. Overworked and underpaid workers took control of their mining stations, executing their overlords, and capturing a pair of mining ships. Rather than attempt to negotiate with the rebels, the BAF arrived in force with a large fleet, destroying the mining ship Endeavor and pursuing the Glorious into a dense field, where the pursuers were routed by a series of large mines, set in preparation for the revolt.
The BAF and Bretonian government incensed at the continuing existence of a revolting band of miners, sent the Battleship Hood, a Dunkirk class Battleship, from New London to restore order. This was the last straw for the loyal miners in the system. The entire mining population of the system declared their Independence and began a long guerilla war against the oppressive and brutal government. The Hood was disabled by a huge mine. The BAF stripped and abandoned the ship, and the Independent Miners Guild took it over shortly after, establishing the only Freeport within House space.
The miners had come from all over Bretonia during the rush but there was a significant percentage that had common ancestry from the older Terra age. Many could identify links with the old nations and cultures of Ireland, Scotland, and other 'Celtic' nations. Those who did not have the blood link were keen to adopt the cultural link that stressed a fight for independence against an oppressive regime.
Naming themselves the Mollys, they began a campaign to free Dublin from the control of Bretonia and their lackeys, the BMM/BMF. Since the revolt, the Mollies have grown into a fierce group of terrorists and pirates, using attacks on commercial shipping and mining operations, civilian establishments, and BAF bases and convoys in their fight to gain independence. Whilst their goal has always been to free Dublin, Molly's recognized the need for gaining power in other ways so they could do such a thing. Using contacts throughout Bretonia and working with the Junkers and IMG.
