With the fleet rebuilding efforts fully underway, the workers at Oder and Alster are growing ever more unruly about their pay and working conditions. These men and women can never be called radicals, being born mostly on planets and used to the structure and limits of Rheinland society from childhood. With the recent destruction and loss of life in Dresden, the radical solution to life's problems is falling even further out of favor, but their frustrations still need an outlet.
Police liasons and security personnel monitoring the shipyards have noticed an uptick of general rule bending and minor instances of non-compliance. A late shift here, a damaged pallet of power cells there, these minor acts of rebellion are still slowing down the Rheinland industrial and war machine. While the efficiency loss can be counted in tenths of percentages as of yet, corporate owners are already losing sleep over the increase of these numbers. Moreover, the whisper of unions is ever present in station canteens and shift changing rooms, and that simply cannot be sanctioned. While this could all be just a minor wave in the sea of working class ambitions, it is best to squash these things before they spiral out of control...
A fact-finding committee formed to identify the greatest malefactors had no shortage of shift leaders and tarry lifers to choose from to meet their quota. With exaggerated charges of noncompliance and other legalese, these can now be considered criminals, and processed accordingly at the new facilities in Sigma-15. Most will likely return to their shift after a few months, chastened and missing the credits which were ever burning a hole in their pockets. The overall message should then be clear - tow the line, or potentially get selected for an all-paid vacation to the vistas of Hammersee.
With Alster leaking like a sieve, it's no surprise that friends of the newly minted "vacationers" would find ways of voicing their frustration to people who could do something about it. While the police is ever aware of dangers to their convoys, these are yet to come under organized threats. After all, how many friends does a person down on their luck really have? But if enough of these messages reach the right ears, there's always the potential of a proportional response to a prison convoy. Since no other facilities can easily house or process such an unusual influx of people with "dangerous" ideologies, there's really only one place for them to go, and one route for them to use. After all, no one wants some sympathetic freelancer making connections with more sinister human transfers.
Combat Area & Disposition
RM/RP start at Alster.
UN can start anywhere except for right at Alster.
Objectives
RM/RP must escort the two prisoner transports to Mecklenburg Prison in Sigma-15, and make sure they land on the station.
If the transports are destroyed, RM/RP must try to recover as many prisoners from the wreckage as possible.
UN must attempt to rescue the prisoners, and land them on the nearest Unioner or Corsair base.
Both RM/RP and UN may choose to shoot down the prisoner escape pods instead of recovering them.
Rules
No cloaking.
No docking / repairs. Only the transports are allowed to dock at their destination.
The prison convoy must use the navmap's "best path" from Alster to Mecklenburg, and not deviate unless absolutely necessary.
Event ends when all ships of one side are destroyed, all prisoners are landed, or all prisoners are dead.
Note that after the event ends, normal server rules apply.
NOTE: The Grendel is fully equipped and parked at Pacifica Base. The Ragnars are fully equipped and parked at Alster. I will provide the xml account code to whoever registers for these slots.
