As promised, I'm back in one piece, within the two-hour window. Now, let's skip the pleasantries. I've got a couple of things to report. Nothing groundbreaking, but, you are well aware that knowledge is power.
After you left, rest of the Liberty crew moved on, except for Jack. He volunteered to tag along as we ventured through one of those anomalous gates. It took us to a nearly desolate system. This brings me to my first point, Empress. If you ever decide to roll the dice with these anomalies, keep a mental note of where you end up. I've been informed that these gateways are quite the fickle things and will spit you out wherever they please.
Now, onto the second issue - our Nav Map is as good as dead. It won't pick up a thing, not a planet, asteroid belt, nothing. We'll have to rely on our memory and our scanners to locate anything. Jack led me to a specific planet in the Foxtrot Two grid sector. The scanner barely registered it, so don't barrel into it headfirst, alright? As for the planet itself, we don't have much to go on. Preliminary scans yielded nothing concrete. Looked unremarkable.
Surprisingly, that Navy pilot had something of note to share. The only remarkable aspect of this system. He mentioned the presence of peculiar organisms. Unfortunately, their lab rats have yet to provide substantial information, or at least that's the latest report. Apart from that, the entire system exudes an unsettling aura – cold and desolate, yet oddly persistent, like there's something hidden beneath its icy surface.
