Hello, just a quick question. I was wondering if Freelancer Bans were IP based or account based.

I have a friend on the LAN (who isn't the brightest at times), and the computers have the same IP. Would I get banned as well?

Yes the bans are IP based so if someone else breaks the rules to the point of a server ban on your machine, you will suffer as well. just make sure everyone playing the game on that machine knows, understands, & follows the rules

I was under the impression that it was account based, because the last time I was banned on a server, it said that the account was banned...

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

It can be either.

Usually depends on the seriousness of the sanction.

Deal with that when the time comes, you could probably ask for just the account to be banned.

Isn't it better to be proactive and deal with the issue before it gets to the point you're buddy gets your IP banned? I'm at least glad this gent is inquiring BEFORE it comes to this rather than dealing with it when it does occur.
