Many Studies Beneath the Eye Kagena had developed a schedule to maintain her studies. In the morning, she would begin with Kendo. Then move to military studies from history to strategy. She would then move to physics courses and engineering. Then she would move to lessons in Go. After which, she had time reserved for family and friends.
Today and this time was now free after her day's raining. She had decided to work through the morning's training again, but this time with a real katana to get the feel of the proper weight as well as the fear of actually cutting herself. She was focused and determined during the katas. It was as though the blade was a means to cut away the confusion of the path that challenged her as she worked on why her sunrider was having issues with power consumption while using the Disinfector 3 weapon system.
Yuri walked along the corridor, passing by many paper towels, which locals call "doors". Passing by another one, he heard faint sounds. Interested, he opened the leaf slightly. It was some kind of, as they call it, a dojo. There was a girl practicing with a sword, or rather, with a katana. It is rare to find such a combination, although, Yuri has already started to find out: the same forehead, neat nose, the jaw is different, must be from the mother. She made confident, long strokes and set blocks from imaginary attacks. Yuri had never held a sword in his hands, but looking from the outside, her style seemed to him... impatient. Just like a young pilot, eager to prove everything to everyone. He quietly opened the door and stood in the doorway, leaning his shoulder against the jamb, not intending to peek through the slit. The light from the corridor illuminated his silhouette a little. Sooner or later she will notice him, despite the rain. In the meantime, he was just watching her moves.

Musings of Interruption There was a difference between impatience and inspiration. Her speed was encouraged by the solution to her problem becoming more and more clear. The focus and precision from years of study and practice with the blade allowed her to find the flaws in her attempt at a previous solution. Now, the twists and turns of the mathematics became more a line that she was following and this made her more confident.
That is until she turned and sliced across and down while seeing the figure in the door. She stopped, sheathing the blade and then bowed to the ancestral shrine within the dojo. Turning to the figure once more, she eyed the man. "You wish to speak?"
"I hope I didn't interrupt. I thought it was a good chance to get acquainted. My name is Yuri Bolotin, I work closely with mister Shimamori. I am the Force Commander of the Riptide and currently recruiting pilots. In these dojos, you can sometimes find very capable ones. Not in the sense of piloting a fighter of course, this can be learned forever, but the ones having the necessary... spirit. For it. I think your people understand this more than others."
